I received two letters today for the same dept at CHEC giving me appointments, one for 25th Sept one for 29th Sept. It clearly states when to ring with any queries. It was an automated reply saying closed on bank Holidays ......today is not a bank holiday!!! No wonder people get het up about services now adays that are not providing what they say they will!!!🙈

These days most of us dread having to ring any company or organisation. We are invariably "in a queue" although our call is "important". I have to say, these are normally places who are not making any money out of us. If you ring a company to place an order for something they usually reply quickly.

Recently I made a stupid mistake on an order with BT and phoned to try to sort it out. The last time I had phoned them (some years ago) I had given up on a conversation with a man whose first language was not English and who, while pleasant enough, was not going to be able to help as he couldn't understand what I was talking about. I was dreading having to do it all again. However, to my surprise, the phone was answered promptly by a very nice woman who gave her name clearly and then actually listened to what I was phoning about. She then dealt with the matter swiftly and didn't once say what an idiot I had been! ⭐️ for BT - hope they keep it up.

You are not being unreasonable travelsafar. Very confusing letter and being closed when you rang. Very unprofessional in my view.

I had a similar experience - two cardio appointments on different days for the same test (not the one I needed). I rang to query it, and was told that someone would call back, so I asked the person I was speaking to to note that I was going away for a week the following month, and gave the dates. Nobody called back. I rang again, and was told that the next appointment had been made for when I was away, although the dates had been added to my notes.

I was away in early August, and the referral for the test was initially made in late June. I finally had the test this week. It was something that is done rarely rather than routinely, so I didn't expect that getting one would be as easy as booking a blood test, but had it been positive it would need urgent treatment. It wasn't, luckily, but that's down to luck not efficiency.
