Today a easy day in , I did have a Chinese Take Away last night and enjoyed it .

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and very dull. I anticipate rain. GrandMattie another lovely quilt. Gingster I'm sorry to hear that your little one is so unwell. I hope they can get to the bottom of it soon.
Yesterday dgs2 and I played indoors as it was raining out and dd hadn't brought his wellies. He just wanted out in the garden though and wasn't a happy boy. Dgs1 is loving his swimming lessons and is improving every week.
Today I'll potter about. I'll make a slow cooker steak casserole which will serve a few days. I'll fill it with swede, carrots, mushrooms and onions. Later I'll visit mum. I tested negative for COVID, thank goodness. Have a good day all

ginny Sun 17-Sep-23 08:19:16

Good morning.
Ginster hope your little one is soon homeg and better.
GM lovely quilt.
We had a very nice lunch in Milton Keynes . The restaurant has some lovely views. Who said MK is all concrete and roundabouts ?
Today I’m off to do some scrapbooking with 6 other ladies although probably more chatting will be done.
Hope you all enjoy a pleasant day and thoughts with all poorly or troubled in any way.

GrannySomerset Sun 17-Sep-23 08:22:50

Grey skies and heavy showers promised but I have no need to go far afield today so a domestic potter, I think.

In no particular order, hope Ash’s journey is trouble free, am so impressed by gMattie’s beautiful quilt, hope there is positive news of Gingster’s GD, and that everyone has a good day.

Urmstongran Sun 17-Sep-23 08:23:58

I hope your littlest granddaughter is better soon Gingster and home from hospital shortly. Admitted on her birthday too, poor little poppet.

Good morning from a cloudy but still dry Suffolk. Rain is forecast but shouldn’t arrive til late afternoon when the Henham steam rally should be finished. DS,DH and DGS3 are off this morning.

So sorry you came home yesterday Gingster to hear about your littlest granddaughter. I hope you get news today about what the problem is and effective treatment,if any is needed, can start.

What a beautiful quilt,*GM*. Your choice of colours and designs is so artistic.

I shall enjoy a quiet few hours whilst the menfolk are out. DS’s partner may come and spent time here with me and little dog….depends on what our 2 DGDs have planned …..homework might need some supervision!

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 11°C and showery.

Gingster, I'm so sorry to hear about your wee granddaughter, I hope they get to the bottom of things quickly.

Safe journey to Ash and OldD,

Yesterday turned out to be a full on day, but I surprised myself by my stamina, it was helped by the fact that I asked for help, something I rarely do.
The lady, who had double booked the hall for a family party went out of her way to apologise, providing tea, coffee and goodies for the people attending the training. Much to my delight, she messaged me to say I wasn't to bother with catering, she would supply the goodies. The attendees were most impressed with our hospitality! 😁

I knew the trainers, one my SIL's former HT boss and had a good old catch up. I do miss social interaction and am becoming quite insular. They were quite surprised I was still so active in the parish, given my ill health.
The only problem was that people from other parishes in the Diocese had turned up without registering and the room was very crowded.
I spent much of the time in the foyer, for fear of picking up an infection.
To my surprise, the PP who was at the family event came looking for me and apologised profusely for all the trouble I had, trying to organise things.

Today we are hoping to see Babydoll, who has been visiting her great auntie in Manchester this week, we have missed her. She visited the Egyptian exhibition and promptly fell asleep. I must remember that trick for the future.
Dollie and her parents turned up unexpectedly at the Vigil Mass last night (great joy) and spent the whole of Mass snuggling into me. 😍. My spirits lifted immediately.

Have the best of days, I plan to do roast chicken today, using my Irish great granny's simple recipe for stuffing. I can't remember the last time I made it, but I could eat it on its own.

Thinking of all those struggling and prayers for the poorlies.

Alygran Sun 17-Sep-23 08:30:55

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s a bit gloomy and cold today.
Lovely quilt gM. Hope your Dgd is soon on the mend Gingster. Safe travels ash
I’m planning on doing some gardening this morning then will settle down with my knitting later.
Have a good day everyone.

brook2704 Sun 17-Sep-23 08:32:54

Good morning everyone from Inverness, we’ve a few grey clouds but some blue sky too
I hope your DGD is feeling much better and home soon Gingster, what a worry, poor little girl especially on her birthday
It’s our regular Sunday catch up call with DS soon, we’ll be making a few final plans as I’m looking forward so much to visiting him next weekend. Later today we’ve DGS coming for a sleepover, no special reason he just asked to come which is lovely. I just need get a few bits of shopping for something he’ll eat later.
Safe journey Ash and everyone else on the move today.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Marydoll Sun 17-Sep-23 08:32:58

I meant to mention your quilt, GM, you are a very talented lady.
You have reminded me that I have hems to take up, no comparison! 😆

Stilllearning Sun 17-Sep-23 08:35:01

Good morning from an unexpectedly sunny South Lanarkshire. What, no rain?

Hopefully a pleasant day ahead, heading to DD2’s this afternoon for a walk, dinner and a ‘sleepover’ and looking forward to that.

A bit concerned about DGD2 who has come home from Uni for the weekend with a bad cold and a bit of a crisis of confidence. It’s a very different environment from the farm so not entirely surprising I suppose.

So sorry to hear about your little granddaughter Gingster, I do hope they get to the bottom of things quickly and she can get get back home.

Safe journey home Ash and good wishes to all for a peaceful day.

Gingster Sun 17-Sep-23 08:38:21

Thankyou for all your good wishes for my little one.
I haven’t heard anything from Dd , so wait to hear the latest.
Love to you all x

Greyduster Sun 17-Sep-23 08:40:11

🤞🏻for your little one, Gingster.

Jacs7 Sun 17-Sep-23 08:41:20

Good morning everyone from a cloudy north Kent. Showers are given for later today.

Hope there is good news today of your GD Gingster . A worrying time for you all. Have a good journey home Ash. What a beautiful quilt GrandMattie; you are a talented lady.

Yesterday’s lunch with old friends went well and we enjoyed each other’s company whilst we set the world to rights. We sat outside in beautiful sunny weather; I suspect it was the last of the summer looking at the forecast for next week.

Today we are out for my belated birthday meal with DD and family as we were away for my birthday last week. It will be good to see them and catch up with their news and see how much the GSs have grown since I last saw them. I have to stand - usually on tiptoes if I can get away with it- whilst they measure themselves against me to see if they are taller than me. Last time elder GS was an inch or so shorter, but I suspect he will the taller this time. Oh well, at least I shall always be taller than the cat- just!

Hope you all have a good day.

Jaxjacky Sun 17-Sep-23 08:44:28

Morning from a dry S Hampshire, 18, rain due later.
Beautiful gMattie.
Sorry to hear that Gingster hopefully she will be home soon.
Have a steady journey back Ashcombe.
With rain due I’ll walk earlier than usual, bathrooms to clean and meat draw in our local at tea time.
Enjoy your ‘doings’ all 🦩🦩.

LauraNorderr Sun 17-Sep-23 08:53:12

Good morning Mick and all from wet and rather chilly Anglesey.
Hope for a speedy diagnosis and recovery for your little granddaughter Gingster, fancy being admitted on a birthday, double celebrations next year.
Wishing everyone the best day possible

Good morning Mick and all from a dull and cool Oxfordshire. I spent yesterday, cleaning, washing and cut both lawns, I went to bed at 8.30 and got up at 8.15 this morning! I hope I’m not going down with something as I still have plenty to do. I dreamt that I ate the most amazing roast chicken, odd as I haven’t eaten meat for so long and whist awake I have no desire to!

Amazing quilting GM I need to start one for our littlest Great Niece for Christmas I have made one for each of the Great nieces and nephews, but nothing as complicated as yours. Our littlest great niece came out of hospital yesterday, apart from an MRI booked for this week they did masses of tests, which she didn’t take too kindly too, they still don’t know what is wrong but they hope it was a virus. Fingers crossed, with her Grandfather (my BIL) terminally ill the family are having a tough time. I hope your little GD gets well soon Ginster.

We are due to pop down this coming week to see them all.

Grandson is off to University this morning, he’s very anxious but after travelling around Europe for 3 weeks and making friends as he went I’m sure he will be fine.

Safe travels to those on the move, hugs for those with sick family.

Good morning everyone from a grey and overcast Northampton, rain forecast later.

Yesterday was beautiful, bright and sunny; I got two loads of washing on the line and dry.
It was also perfect weather for rugby, and I spent a most pleasant afternoon with DD and DS-in-law, enjoying the game. We put out a young and relatively inexperienced Saints team, but still trounced the opposition, coming in at 55-5.
Then home, where I enjoyed a steak for dinner, with a glass of red wine.
Watched more rugby on tv, and fell asleep in the armchair!

Going to DS for my Sunday dinner today - I was most surprised when I got the invitation on my phone on Friday! I shall be able to deliver the goodies I got for them on my cruise to Iceland. Hoping the rain holds off, as I shall probably walk up.

Then home to watch the England rugby match on tv this evening. Three of our Saints boys in the team!

What a beautiful quilt grandMattie; people would pay good money for one of those!
Gingster, hope your little DGD is soon on the mend.

Wishing all a pleasant Sunday.

Grammaretto Sun 17-Sep-23 09:12:54

Sending healing thoughts to your little DGD Gingster such a worry. I hope no news is good news.

Stilllearning sorry that your DGD is not thrilled with uni. Better that she shares her worries with her family now rather than hide away.

Kalu Sun 17-Sep-23 09:14:37

Good morning all from a dry and calm day in Glasgow.

What a worrying time for you Gingster. We worry about our DGC as much as we worried about their parents when they were children. Admitted to hospital and on her birthday too poor little tot but she really is in the best place where they can get to the bottom of what’s going on. I hope she will be home soon.

Have the best day possible all.

harrigran Sun 17-Sep-23 09:27:53

Good morning from a rainy NE yet again.
Yesterday was very chilly, heating was on all day.
GD made a speech at her school speech day and received two awards on Thursday, I had to ask as she never boasts.
She spent the day doing homework, artwork was about Africa and she drew an elephant which was impressive.
It was nearly 11pm when DS and GD left so I went straight to bed and was too tired to read my book.
DD and SIL will visit this afternoon.
Thoughts are with those with poorly relatives.
Safe travels Ashcombe.

NannyJan53 Sun 17-Sep-23 09:38:04

Good morning from a much brighter Black Country.

Lovely meal for my 70th last night. There were 16 of us. Should’ve been 18 but brother and SIL felt they should drop out after being in contact with a friend who tested positive for Covid! Such a shame.

The cake was made by my DIL.

So sorry to hear about your DGD Gingster , I hope she is home soon

Grammaretto Sun 17-Sep-23 09:43:55

Happy birthday to you NannyJan I'm glad you had a lovely time. What a wonderful looking cake!
