Just to let you know, if you haven't seen it in the papers, that you can book your jab from today, either on the NHS website or the app or by phoning. We did ours this morning, and have a local venue both at the same time, which is handy.

I'm in Edinburgh and I received a letter a couple of weeks ago. Went online and booked- close to home, unlike last year when people were travelling long distances to get them.
I had the jabs this afternoon. It was the updated Moderna and the flue jab. No sore arm either side tonight but let's see. I had quite a reaction last time! Fingers crossed.

I enquired at local pharmacy about flu vaccination, they are starting next week then I got a text from the GP to say that I should register for flu and covid together. I am not happy about that so arranged covid one for this Sunday at a pharmacy and will have the flu one at a different pharmacy.

Don’t know what to do ,I’ve had four or vaccines, lost count, but had Covid four times, each just after the vaccine.I still don’t feel well from the last bout. Tried to speak to someone at my surgery, but it’s impossible, just emergencies.

I had a text from the gp practice a couple of days ago telling me I could book the covid jab online, so I did for this coming Saturday.

I had similar txt for the flu jab about 6 weeks ago and then a fortnight ago but the NHS online system wasn't ready yet so I booked it directly with Boots for next week.

Posted on a different thread yesterday. Went on NHS app and booked my Covid booster at my local pharmacy for Wednesday next week. Quick and easy to do. Had my flu jab on Tuesday at my local Boots they sent me an email in June so booked it then .

Littleanne you must live in England because I was given my flu Jab and my covid jab over a week ago didn’t feel a thing either thank goodness that’s over and done with as I’ve a needle phobia

I had mine yesterday. Flu in one arm and Covid in the other. All fine.
I was given several weeks notice as I'm an NHS volunteer so could book early.

Nanderin Thu 21-Sept-23 09:57:58

Having mine today. I've had 4 too. I had covid once.

I received a text message last Friday (15th) telling me I could book an appointment for my booster. So I did!

SueDoku Thu 21-Sept-23 16:19:58

Tried the NHS App again today, and found several local pharmacies are now taking bookings for Covid jabs - so I'm (hopefully) having mine next Monday 🤞🏼

Went for our flu jabs at Boots today and were offered covid as well. What had happened was the pharmacist had had so many forms to fill in that he missed a tick in one box so they couldn’t start on Monday as planned. They said they’re offering some walk in appointments too. So relieved I’ve had them both done!

Covid and flu jabs invite by letter a couple of weeks ago, booked online and done in Edinburgh yesterday. Very efficient.

Since Covid started I have been sent to four different sites to be vaccinated. Fortunately this one was only 5 minutes down the road, compared to the other side of the city last year, and out at Ingliston the one before that.

Aveline Thu 21-Sept-23 17:26:41

wildswan I was sent to Ingliston for the first two but after that if you go on the website there's a long drop down menu of places you can go. Click on the one handiest for you and book a date and time to suit. I went to the Gyle as easy parking. Fingers crossed this isn't info you'll need as we'll not be having more 🤞

Littleannie Thu 21-Sept-23 18:39:39

Aveline
Do you mean we will not be having any more jabs after this one? I have not seen this reported anywhere.

Primrose53 Thu 21-Sept-23 18:51:46

Booked flu jab today but not having covid jab.

Aveline Thu 21-Sept-23 19:02:47

No I didn't mean that really. I suppose there'll always be a flu jab but maybe this could be the last Covid one?

pinkprincess Thu 21-Sept-23 21:15:51

I will be having the flu vaccination but not any more Covid ones thank you.
The last Covid one (booster) as this time last year.24 hours laterI nearly died from a huge blood clot on my right lung.It might of been a co-incidence but I am not taking chances.I have COPD so between a rock and a hard place.
I am now n blood thinning tablets for the rest of my life.

Have had nothing from surgery or NHS although in our eighties. Booked on line and going locally today.

Freya5 Fri 22-Sept-23 14:13:52

Just had a message from my surgery, to book my booster. They've always been on top of this, well done all.
I was going to say very lucky, but that's wrong. If one group of surgeries can coordinate autumn boosters, why can't others do the same. Poor management maybe, who knows.

karmalady Fri 22-Sept-23 15:19:29

my surgery messaged me and I the earliest I could book was mid october, flu will be early october. Surgery were short of vaccines for covid

ElaineI Fri 22-Sept-23 15:46:05

We had our covid and flu boosters yesterday and boy do we feel them! Sore arms and the pain of the flu one is going up into my neck. Could barely drive yesterday - that's improved but today I can't put biscuit tin back on high shelf. Also felt a bit squeamish but that has gone now. I went through the whole of my nursing career getting flu booster annually at work and straight back to work with patients no problem but last year and this year the flu one has been so sore! Still better than having flu though.

Nanderin Fri 22-Sept-23 16:37:11

Had my covid booster yesterday. Arm bit sore today but otherwise okay.

rosie1959 Sat 23-Sept-23 10:04:56

Just went up for flu jab and they were doing Covid as well if you wanted it so both done in one quick trip

Thoro Sat 23-Sept-23 14:46:15

Had my flu and Covid jab yesterday- knew I might feel a bit rough today so didn't book anything and am having a very relaxed day.

Wheniwasyourage Sat 23-Sept-23 16:24:57

Had both yesterday and felt a bit hot and had sore arms last night, but like you Thoro, I’m taking it easy today and it’s all settling down.
