Good morning from a sunny N.Bucks. So much heavy wind and rain yesterday.
Our morning plans have changed as MILs lady who does her shopping can’t come this week so it is down to us . DH says he will do it as we will now have to go this afternoon to Costco and Dunelm which will be more than enough for my hip to cope with.
A good day wished for all especially those with troubles and worries.

Taichinan Thu 21-Sept-23 08:16:40

Good morning Mick. Good morning all. It's so lovely to have a sunny start to the day on the Angus coast - although there's plenty of cloud around and it's windy and cool. After the rainy start yesterday (I got soaked walking from the car to the dentist) it turned out mild and sunny and I was able to waste spend a pleasant half hour contemplating the fish.
So sad for your mum Grandmabatty - and for you.
I'm glad you're going to speak to your support team Mick for advice and perhaps a check-up.
Congratulations on your new grandson fancythat - enjoy those baby cuddles!
Today for me is the usual Thursday tai chi class followed by a bit of shopping then home. I shall no doubt fall asleep at some point during the afternoon - there's no point in fighting it because it always wins 😉.
Thinking of those undergoing treatment today, or supporting loved ones through. I hope all goes well, and that everyone has a chance to enjoy the autumn sunshine with the last of its warmth x

Good morning from a lovely sunny Sefton. What a change from yesterday morning which ended up as a cleaning morning. Shamed into by my OH. A very wet morning was followed by a warm & sunny afternoon so I was able to do a some garden tidying & get a bit of washing on the line.
Zumba this morning followed by an empty. Takeaway for tea.
Take care.

Pittcity Thu 21-Sept-23 08:05:31

Good morning from Colchester where the wind has died down. The forecast is dry until late afternoon with a high of 18°.
I slept in as DH was fishing overnight and I had the bed to myself.
No regular activities on a Thursday and I have an empty. I'll change the beds and walk over to a shopping centre for a mooch in Dunelm, B&M and the Range. Its about a 15 minute walk from here and I can't buy too much as I have to carry it home, so it's good for exercise and easy on the purse.
Love to all 🦩 x

Urmstongran Thu 21-Sept-23 08:04:58

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where we have a sunny start to the day! Nice.

Here’s Matt.

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 21-Sept-23 07:57:04

Good morning it’s sunny here after a terrible day yesterday, lawn is strewn with twigs and leaves and very soggy underfoot.
Another nothing day today due to an Asthma problem, I’m hoping to sort it without taking my emergency Steroids, I’ll see how another day of inhalers works, fingers crossed.
Have a good day everyone, thoughts are with those who are unwell or caring for loved ones.

Liberty Thu 21-Sept-23 07:56:57

Good morning all from a dry Suffolk day where sunshine is predicted. Apart from a drizzly hour or so early evening yesterday,no rain unlike further west.

It is my stretch class in less than 2 hours and then,if the forecast is accurate, DH and I will take the little dog to our local common which has a lovely and very dog friendly cafe for lunch.

Delighted yesterday to have an email confirming my Indian visa had been granted. It took a friend 4 attempts to get his.

Hope today is a positive one for all especially those suffering with worries.

Marydoll Thu 21-Sept-23 07:54:13

Morning all from Troon. I have lost my post, so I will just wish you a pleasant day!

kittylester Thu 21-Sept-23 07:48:25

Good morning all from a greyish North Leicestershire.

Covid jab for both of us this afternoon, a visit to the butcher and a Sainsbury's delivery.

We got drenched picking up from school yesterday but it was lovely to see the children as always.

Gingster Thu 21-Sept-23 07:46:39

Good morning all and it’s dry , calm but grey here in Essex.

We are off to our hide-away in Suffolk today, around lunchtime.
Liberty I’m looking forward to seeing you for a coffee next week. I’ll be in touch 👋.

This morning little pooch has the hairdressers, so I’ll go to bowls and Dh can pack what we need to take. Not much really as we have all we need up there.

Love the ‘bodgeitanddodgeit’ beechnut . I’ve got one of those! 🤣.

Enjoy Buckingham Palace Grandmadinosaur. I was there the Saturday before last and it was the hottest day. 🥵. It’s a great tour though and very interesting to see all the Coronation regalia.

I hope you get some results WWM. 🙏
Lovely quilt GM
Take care Mick . Get advice from the nurse.

Love to all suffering in any way.❤️

Good morning from dry and bright South Lanarkshire.

We’ve both had a very broken night with one thing or another. DH has been unwell for weeks with a horrible cough for which he has had antibiotics and then a course of steroids. The cough just isn’t shifting, he’s having horrendous night sweats too and we’re waiting for X-ray results then he’ll see the GP again. I’ve noticed that he has lost weight too so I’m beginning to feel a little concerned.

Today will be quiet I think, nothing major happening so I’ll get out a couple of times with the daft dug.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 21-Sept-23 07:43:11

Morning all, I have opened the curtains to another grey sky, surely today cannot be as bad as yesterday’s horrendous winds and torrential downpours!

Nothing much planned for today, the 8yr old GS is staying over tonight as his 8am school start is now Friday instead of Wednesday. He has requested steak and chips for dinner (of course I spoil him 💙). The Imp is asking if he can sleepover with his brother, he will have to wait until he starts school and has an 8am start 🤣

Lovely quilt grandMattie

Have a great day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

monk08 Thu 21-Sept-23 07:42:51

Good morning all from the Black country a brighter start to the day after yesterday's nonstop rain. Have got the towels in the wash and hope to get them out on the line for a blow before any more rain.
Mick good to hear you are contacting your nursing team and seeking advice.
GM once again a beautiful piece of patchwork.
fancythat enjoy cuddles with your new grandson.
Shopping today and then we have a carvery booked for later so no cooking yippee.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Maria59 Thu 21-Sept-23 07:41:29

Taichinan thanks for the advice yesterday I have packed lots of layers grin

Susan56 Thu 21-Sept-23 07:39:14

Good morning from Shropshire. Some sunshine is forecast in between the showers today.

Yesterday we sold three boxes of books and took a car load of stuff to the tip.Today will be the charity shop and the clothes bank. The house is sorted all this is from operation garage clean up.First though the podiatrist will be here at 10.Like karma I could do my feet myself but being diabetic feel I need a professional checking my feet over.Pre covid diabetic foot checks were done by a podiatrist at the surgery now a health care assistant checks there is a pulse in your feet which I can check myself🤷‍♀️

Good idea to keep a food diary Mick.

Whitewave I really hope the NHS so come up trumps for your sister today🙏🏻

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Grandmabatty Thu 21-Sept-23 07:38:40

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and bright. Cool and clear. Mick it's good you are seeking advice. GrandMattie another lovely quilt. Grandma dinosaur have a lovely trip. Fancy that enjoy baby cuddles.
Yesterday I went to the library then Aldi. I pottered about in the house and spent most of the day reading which was very restful. I visited mum at night. For the first time since she was taken ill, she was acutely aware of her situation and was really sad. I felt so sorry for her. She still has covid and coughed a lot last night.
Today I have to contact my lawyer to set up a face to face meeting regarding my will and poa. I have the written versions so just need to finalise things. Then tonight I'm going to an autumn wreath making class with my aunt. I'm looking forward to it. I'll dig out the wreath hanger from its lurking place so it's ready to show off my work of art 😂. Have a good day all

RosesandLilac Thu 21-Sept-23 07:36:21

Good morning, it’s looking quite bright out here in south Gloucestershire after yesterday’s deluges and wind.
The early dog was was very blustery, didn’t rain until we got back.
The rest of the day went downhill, I ended up going to bed early afternoon because I felt so rough. I did do a Covid test (negative) although I haven’t been anywhere other than town on Tuesday.
Today I’m not sure, DH can walk the dog and I will potter around indoors.
Take care 🌹

Georgesgran Thu 21-Sept-23 07:32:31

Good morning from Durham. I did a double take as it’s dry! We had a monsoon here yesterday.
I’ve organised myself an empty today, as the house needs some attention before my SinL arrives tomorrow and I want to pack for our flight on Saturday.
Hope you get some advice Mick, a food diary sounds a good idea.
Best wishes to all.X

brook2704 Thu 21-Sept-23 07:30:52

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a very blustery start to the day
Hope all goes well with your DHs check up later corner
DGD stayed for a sleepover last night so we’ll drop her at school this morning and then finish getting ready for our trip to visit DS at the weekend
Have a good trip to London grandmadinosaur and enjoy the palace
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Foxygloves Thu 21-Sept-23 07:29:14

Good morning from N Bucks where it is indeed cooler but bright. I hope we don’t get a repetition of yesterdays torrential rain and high winds- it was really very stormy.
Despite my late night at Das Rheingold I feel wide awake and quite ready for the day! By one of those coincidences you get, I had a seat on my own last night (although I had gone with friends, but they were quicker off the mark at booking than me,), and when I got to my place I found I was next to a couple DH and I had known at university at St Andrew’s 54 years ago and who live only a couple of miles away. I won’t say it’s a small world, but it is!
More shockwave therapy on my PF foot this morning then this afternoon more of my Lutyens course which I am going to in person, not Zoom this week, meeting a friend from the class for a coffee and a sandwich first.
Glad you are going to seek advice and help, Mick there’s no point in “pushing through” when there may be a simple explanation or remedy.
With kind thoughts to all poorlies and those with worries wishing you some comfort or respite.

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 21-Sept-23 07:27:22

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
It was a fun evening at WI yesterday. The Irish dancers were good, we had Irish coffee and my bottle of Guinness came second in the Something Irish competition. I will have to type up the notes this morning. There may or may not be a U3A Art History talk this afternoon but I have been trying to find out! OH had his covid/flu jab the other day but I still haven’t had an invitation. Our Health Centre isn’t doing them each day and a friend who is a nurse said I should just book an appointment somewhere. Well I did, for Tuesday, I’m having my car serviced and MOTd on Monday. There were no spaces at all at my Health Centre so I’m going to a Pharmacist. Apparently there is no flu vaccine until early October. I am off to a friend’s house this evening. Before that I must check whether or not my neighbour can feed the cats while we’re in France next weekend for niece number 2’s wedding. Have a good day, especially those of you with worries.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 21-Sept-23 07:23:43

Good morning from the South Downs. 18c forecast today so getting cooler, but at least a dry day is forecast.

Very wet yesterday so spent the day indoors - I had intended to go to the garden centre but have put it off until Friday, as it was really too unpleasant yesterday. Made some bread and took the sails down in the conservatory, washed them and put them away for the winter☹️.

The wind and rain has seen off much of the flowers, so I shall cut them down bit by bit. The little cyclamen and autumn crocus are doing their bit at the moment and are so pretty. I need to tackle the woodruff which really is a thug. Apparently it was used in bedding during the medieval times. It is acting as a “bed” for the crocus though with their heads picking through it looks really pretty.

This afternoon I’m taking my sister to see the nhs consultant, - it is a long story - as she has already seen a private specialist - but the bottom line is that they are so busy with skin cancer that an early/emergency surgery is going to be difficult so the private oncologist suggests she keeps two balls in the air. Unbelievable really, as she said that it is a particularly nasty aggressive form and really quite large. The private oncologist was hoping to carry out the surgery on Monday, but she needed to contact her secretary as she thought that she was entirely booked up, but my sister hasn’t heard a thing. I am hoping that the NHS will come up trumps.

I’m having an easy meal tonight as I think I will be too exhausted to cook. Might be a jacket potato cheese and beans.

Kind thoughts to everyone dealing with difficulties

Peace and harmony to all

Jaxjacky Thu 21-Sept-23 07:23:09

Morning from sun up in S Hants, 10, so chilly after yesterdays deluge.
Sensible to get advice Mick.
Beautiful lap quilt gMattie.
Walked yesterday morning, then the rain came, so not much else was done.
Today a trip to the butcher, wash floors and refine the grocery delivery list.

Good morning everyone from a bright dry East Northants here at DD's. Really heavy rain yesterday, so today's weather is a lovely change.

Did very little at home yesterday; the gasman was with me bright and early, and did a good service on my boiler and gas fire. Spent the rest of the day reading, as I wanted to finish my 800 page novel.

DS-in-law picked me up after work to bring me here, and DD and I spent a pleasant evening at our ladies' wine club. Still getting to know our two new members, but they seem to be fitting in well.

DD will take me home later this morning, and then I am out to dance classes after lunch.

Lovely quilt grandMattie, clever lady!

May today be kind to us all.

Grandmadinosaur Thu 21-Sept-23 07:16:16

Good morning from East Yorkshire. It is a dry day so far.

I’m up early today to catch a train. Meeting my friend in London. We did this often pre Covid but this is the first time since. We have met since then though. I have had a bit of an anxious few days over a mix up regarding our tickets for the Buckingham Palace tour but all sorted now. Still undecided on my outfit and coat with predicted showers 😕
