That's a lovely Autumn wreath grandmabatty You are very clever.
Glad to hear that your husband's appointment went really well Cornergran It must be such a relief. Also that treatment may begin soon for your sister Whitewave. Hope all goes well.
May the Physio help relive your hip pain too Ash
Grandmattie I second what Kalu said about getting a specialist to check for asbestos.Better safe than sorry.
Late greetings to you all ,
I got to painting class , paid my sub , so that’s Friday mornings spoken for
It was nice seeing everyone again , also great to catch up with my friend who gives me a lift , our tongues never stopped !
Lovely and sunny here but breezy
Got news of the little boy who had a brain tumour removed , they have managed to remove all the tumour , now waiting for biopsy results , I am continuing my prayers 🙏🏼🕯️💐
Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast.
First day back yesterday from the tiring Salzburg trip, with its flight delays and sightseeing. Had an appointment in the morning to have a mole checked, it’s ok, then DS came to fix the faulty ground floor window I found wide open on my return. My neighbours were feeding our ‘joint’ cat and knew I was away, but they haven’t mentioned it. Strange as their kitchen window looks straight on to it…
DS also fixed up soundspeakers next to my lugholes, my tinnitus and hearing not improving. Some Amazon films even come without subtitles!
Well wishes to all with worries and hope you have the best day you can🌹
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a brightening South Yorkshire but the jury’s out on whether it will rain. I actually read all posts at ten minutes to eight, and then forgot to post my own. That’s a first for me! Just waiting for washing machine to finish doing it’s stuff and then I’ll take a chance on putting the laundry out. I’m in two minds whether to go into town on the tram this afternoon. I seem to spend my entire life in two minds about one thing or another. One job I can’t dodge today is to clean out my fridge.
Have the best day you can folks.
Forgot to mention your wreath Grandmabatty - it's beautiful!
Mick forgot to ask if you got some advice from your Nursing Team yesterday? Hope so.
Good morning Mick and all from grey rainy Lancashire where it is currently 12°C.
The plumber arrived at lunchtime yesterday. Not impressed, came to measure up but had not brought a tape measure! We lent him one, he then went outside and rang a plumbing parts supplier to price up the parts. He quoted a high price which included labour but did not include extras and wanted paying up front. Really unprofessional all round.
Needless to say I’ve been in contact with another plumber who is local to me and recommended by a few people in this area.
Thinking of all our ‘poorlies’ and those looking after loved ones.
Have a good day all whatever you’re doing 🌹
Good morning all from an Angus coast which is a lighter shade of grey with a light breeze at the moment. Yesterday turned out lovely though and time was spent beside the pond.
Although I knew the boiler was being serviced early afternoon, after a morning of tai chi and shopping I had managed to fall asleep by the time the man arrived - not a bonny sight I'm sure 😂
Have a lovely time with your son Brook.
Whitewave have a calming relaxing time today - it's wonderful that your sister is being treated so quickly.
I wish I had your energy grandmattie! What a lot you pack into your days. As karma says, something is 'not right' about this asbestos thing. It must be so frustrating.
Cornergran that was a marvellous and very comforting consultation you and DH had. You must both feel very reassured and relieved.
Well it's the weekly 'kitchen blitz' for me today with a bedroom blitz and ironing blitz threatening. The mind is willing but the energy levels remain low, so one 'blitz' a day week is all that will be achieved. But hey ho, off we go.
Have the perfect day for you everyone.
Morning from South Lanarkshire, grey but dry.
I hope that your sister’s treatment is quick and effective Whitewave, such a worry for you both.
Lovely autumn wreath Grandmabatty another talented lady.
You’ll have a lovely few days with your son Brook, you are lucky to have family who live in such nice places! I have only visited Cambridge once but I really liked it and would have liked more time there.
A really nice phone call last night from my off shore son in law in the middle of the North Sea. He’s so thoughtful and I went to bed smiling. With all the drawbacks of overuse of mobile phones, so much is good about modern ways of communication.
A visit today to my sister in law, last time she was quite confused for a while after I arrived but settled down within about half an hour so I am anxious to see how she is today. She was good on the phone last night.
Good wishes to everyone for a decent day.
btw it is impossible to identify asbestos visually, a sample needs to be taken away and identified in a lab
These people that you aredealing with are very flippant in my opinion. There are specialists who will do lab testing in Bristol
GM, you really do need an asbestos specialist to come and test. There has been a big case in the Bristol area, sheltered housing, the owners had big fines for putting residents at risk, it was asbestos in their case.
If asbestos then the company will pay, if not then I can see that you would get the repair bill. It was very often used as lagging under showers, around pipes etc. If asbestos as `diagnosed` by a non-specialist then fibres will be released on removal and you and your neighbours will be at risk of future lung damage and the plumber too. On your clothes, all your furniture. Get a formal assessment by a specialist company and you will have it in print, either it is or it isn`t
Sounds to me as though the management company are ducking and diving at the cost of your mental and physical well-being
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Dull but not cold. I have hung the washing indoors to be on the safe side. Expecting the Roofer any minute. He decided against Wednesday as it was too windy.
I shall do my shift at the shop this morning and then pack my kiln for a last firing for our pottery open studios this weekend. There'll be hot pots.
I am glad your DS is being seen soon WWM
I hope whatever is causing the pain Ash can be seen to quickly.
Bon Voyage Brook
Have a lovely holiday and send us photos.
Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, 10°C outside at the moment. Forecast is dry till late afternoon.
Had terrible backache yesterday - the way I slept at DD's the night before; I must have fallen asleep sitting up in bed, and woke at 6.30am still in an awkward position.
I thought twice about going to my dance classes, but actually the exercise did me good, and after telling our dance teacher about my back she tailored our ballet lesson to exercises focussing on the back - lots of stretching and lengthening.
Off out for my Covid jab this morning, which entails a two-bus journey. The good thing is that the pharmacy is next to a lovely Waitrose, so I shall go and have a coffee afterwards and have a good browse.
Lots of chat about gardens this morning; I have decided to get a gardener in to do a good tidy up before winter, and also deal with the border where my new fence is - it is just too much for me to cope with.
Curry for dinner tonight, and a quiet evening watching tv. Foxygloves forgot that the rugby was on last night; more rugby at 4 this afternoon, Argentina v Samoa.
Curry for dinner tonight.
Wishing all a Friday that is kind.
Safe travels Brook and lovely autumn door wreath Grandmabatty🍁🍂
Good morning from Shropshire where sun, rain, thunder and lightening are forecast. No doubt the rain will arrive at 3pm when we are standing at the school gates!
Nothing planned today until school pick up and bringing the children back here for a sleepover. We were meant to be going to the roller disco tonight but a playground accident DGD had has put paid to that.
Glad you have physio booked Ash.Hope the drive to Stafford isn’t too uncomfortable.
Whitewave, glad that a plan is in place for your sister.Take it easy on yourself too.Such an emotionally exhausting and difficult time💐🙏🏻
What a positive hospital appointment you had Conner.I’m glad you have both been reassured.
Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩
A lovely door wreath Grandmabatty.
Good morning everyone from a cloudy but dry north Kent. We’ve had some rain the last few days, but not the downpours others have had.
Quiet day yesterday; DH was out at golf all day so I started a new watercolour painting. DD popped round for a chat and a cuppa.
Today we are meetings up with a friend for lunch; a regular occurrence and always enjoyable.
Hope you all have a good day
Corner, what really gets me is the fictitious asbestos! How the surveyor reached the conclusion, I shall never know.
I really, really want the bathroom done before I fall through the floor. I was prepared to pay for it before, why don’t they give me permission, at no cost to them?
Good morning all and it’s a lovely morning here at the Suffolk seaside.
A large flock of geese flew over (noisily) as I stepped outside with little pooch. In perfect formation. Then, as we wandered around the garden, another huge flock came overhead but they didn’t seem to know where they were going - a very messy and straggly bunch. 😏.
Lots to tidy in the garden - Dh mowed the lawns yesterday which immediately makes it look better. Our handiman still hasn’t continued with our steps going down to the beach. It’s all overgrown now and needs urgent attention. I hope he appears this week 🤞.
Brook enjoy your time with your son
WW I hope your sister gets her treatment soon 🙏.
I love your autumn wreath Grandmabatty.
Have the best day you can 🌻
Good morning from a bright but chilly Essex coast.
I had my hair cut yesterday afternoon and met a tiny little Cockapoo puppy, only 9 weeks old, and belonging to the mother of my hairdresser. Unfortunately one of it's claws caught my arm and I have a nasty scratch. I shall be keeping my eye on it.
Today I am having my nails painted ready for our holiday next week and I shall do some more sorting of clothes.
Have a pleasant day everyone xxx
Good morning from a sunny NE where it is 8 degrees and the heating is on.
I had a quiet day yesterday catching up with small jobs until the phone rang and someone asked to speak to DH by name. It was a legitimate call about the service agreement DH used to have on his car but he has been dead almost two years and it still upset me.
Today I am having lunch with my friend in a nearby village, a new restaurant, hopefully to our taste.
I will be taking her birthday gift, her birthday was the last day of August but we both had a busy time then so couldn't meet up.
Have a good day all.
Good morning all from a bright and sunny Black country, managed to get the towels dry yesterday before any rain plus another wash load so ironing it is today.
I have a bag to take to charity shop and a trip to the bank, our bank closes next week when we moved here there were 4 banks and 2 building societies once ours closes we will be down to 1 sign of the times.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
Good morning it’s dry and sunny here but only 4degrees, I’ll need to keep an eye on the overnight temperatures next week as I have geraniums that will need to be potted up auto bring indoors.
MrOops feels the need to buy some clothes (about time) so we are off to the Metropolis this morning, what is more likely is that he will get up and say he’s not going and that the clothes he has are all fine…..
So the plants might get potted up today, we are in a frost pocket and get them very early.
Enjoy the sunshine whilst it lasts everyone and hope all those with worries manage to have a restful day.
Good morning from Durham where it’s dry again - three days in a row, I could get used to this.
Hair appointment later and I’ll take Little Dog home on the way into Newcastle. After a few days with me, he was filthy, so he had a bath last night, and he’s pristine.
Sis-in-L arrives later and we’ll have fish and chips tonight.
I’m having a problem with Octopus, but I have enough of a credit balance while it’s sorted.
Best wishes to all. X
