Good Morning Everyone,
A dark and dry start here in brackley this morning.
This last day or so I have been using the branded Imodium capsules as opposed to in store Loperarmide capsules ,and a slight difference at the moment .
Today usual bus trip this morning , after some housework as hopefully health wise things are getting better .
Take Care ,
Mick

Enjoy your holiday Sar.

Hope you have a lovely holiday, Sar

A late good morning from me. It's a lovely sunny day here on the Essex coast.

DH's DGS was 10 yesterday and we had a lovely afternoon with all the family.

Today I have been packing for our trip to Turkey starting tomorrow. I'm quite excited as we haven't been on a plane since 2019.

I hope you all have a lovely day xxx

Blossoming I'm sorry you've been depressed lately. But that bench by the river sounds a very restorative place - the sound of moving water cleanses the mind - and a gratitude journal too is always good to remind us of how lucky we really are. Sending 🤗 to you x

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Bits and bobs today, a bid for compensation for flight delays and lost luggage, birthday cards etc. The cat gave me a troubled night, jumping on me at odd times for attention…
I’m off to a singing session this afternoon so will have a warm up and I have my songs in order..

I hope everything turns out well for your DIL luluaugust, you feel cheerier today Blossoming and thoughts to all with worries 🌹

Good morning from cloudy but bright East Lothian. It’s quite breezy but should be fine for doing some gardening at DD’s. We will be heading south again in a few days so I want to leave the garden as ‘winter ready’ as possible - DD can’t do much due to health condition and SiL has more than enough on his plate. DD gets very frustrated when she can see what needs doing but can’t do it. She has always been a keen gardener and was the first in her Brownie pack to be awarded her Gardener’s badge 🙂

I hope your sister’s op goes well Whitewavemark.

Marydoll, I seem to remember you falling into a bramble patch who on after I first started following Mick’s GM thread during lockdown! Take care please.

Blossoming, I hope you soon feel better. A sit on a bench by a river sounds very restorative 🦆🍂☀️

Good morning from a bright windy Co Armagh
I was up at 6 to see my eldest son off home , but he had slipped out and away without me hearing him , I hope I wasn’t snoring!
I went back to bed and fell asleep again
I usually wave my brood goodbye , I do feel bad now !

Kalu Mon 25-Sept-23 09:51:37

Wishing you a happy Monday too Blossoming Hope you make it to that bench by the river to blow the cobwebs away,it sound idyllic. 🌻

No idea where my early morning post disappeared to.

Dry, sunny and breezy, off to the gym and then back home to try out my new ironing board - life in the fast lane 🤣🤣🤣

Will catch up with your news later 🦩🙋‍♀️

luluaugust Mon 25-Sept-23 09:49:26

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Missed posting yesterday as I had a long call with DB back from a holiday and then sadly followed by a call from my oldest friend to say her DB had died in an accident at the gym. No one is sure yet what happened. On Saturday we visited DS & DIL, she has been told her breast cancer operation was successful but there is now a huge hold up as the Lab is very short staffed, a difficult wait for them.
Today my lovely cleaner is coming for a couple of hours, I hope to get the kitchen sorted out a bit.
Take care everyone

Blossoming Mon 25-Sept-23 09:38:31

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lancashire where it is currently 14°C. Hope your stomach is settling down Mick and you enjoy your trip out.

The last few weeks have not been good for a number of reasons and I became quite depressed. I have given myself a good talking to and today will be a good day. I have a lot of things to do today, some small but important such as sending a birthday card and gift, some large and tiring. I will do the important things first and shan’t worry if I don’t manage everything. I will get outside, the weather is beautiful and I will be happy if I only make it to a bench by the river. I need to restart my happiness journal.

Wishing everyone a Happy Monday 🌻🌻🌻

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a sunny, but chilly, South Yorkshire. Apart from a brief bathroom visit about five, I slept like a top and am only just awake!! A swim this morning and then we’ll see what the day brings. If the grass is dry enough later I might cut the front lawn.
Have the best day you can folks.

Kalu Mon 25-Sept-23 09:15:11

Good morning all from Glasgow. Torrential rain again last night makes this morning wet along with high winds. The sun is making a good effort to appear but I won’t hold my breath.

A Waitrose visit today and if the rain stays off, I am hoping to fill pots with fresh compost. I know tulip bulbs are on sale there but at such an inflated price, no thank you. Garden centre visit is another outing for another day.

Safe travels Brook and Ash

Have the best day you can all and hopefully a lighter day for all with worries and difficult times to cope with.

Taichinan Mon 25-Sept-23 09:09:17

Oops sorry - pressed send too soon!
Safe journey home today Brook after your lovely time with your son. More happy memories made.
I hope everybody enjoys their day today with the remaining warmth in the sun shining down on you ☀️x

Taichinan Mon 25-Sept-23 09:05:40

Good morning all from the Angus coast. We seem to have jumped forward into October and the sky, in spite of the sun and blue sky between the clouds looks cold. Lately it's been warmer outside than in and my winter Oodie is being well-used!
Lovely to read about everyone's doings and comings and goings. The birthday party looks such fun.
Congratulations to your dancing GD, Ash. Mine is now into her degree year, leading who knows where 🤞

RosesandLilac Mon 25-Sept-23 09:04:55

Good morning from a lovely hotel in Somerset, first day of painting today.
I hadn’t realised how much everything depends on using a card, the hotel doesn’t accept cash at all so no drinks in the bar for me. Unfortunately I also had to park some way from the hotel so that’s a pain as I have to keep topping up the parking.
I must stop grumbling…..sorry everyone 🙄

Anyway, let’s hope it’s a lovely day, the sun is shining!

glammagran Mon 25-Sept-23 09:04:34

Good morning to you all.

We “survived” the overnighter with the small GC’s. They were pretty good with not too many spats between them. But we weren’t at our best (negative Covid tests) and were glad when their parents returned yesterday. Not helped by them waking up at 6am, very excited and not once asked about their parents which I was pleased by as I was worried they’d be tearful. 2 year old GS was entranced by the England-Chile rugby match on Saturday. GD couldn’t believe the score! More childcare today and tomorrow. Only a month now till our cruise around the Canaries.

Have good day all.

GrannySomerset Mon 25-Sept-23 08:45:07

Have just realised that it is 65 years since my lovely mum died suddenly, leaving me orphaned and alone. The kindness of friends made all the difference to my life and I am still so grateful for it.

Today is bright, at least for now, and the washing machine is dealing with the bedding used by DD and DSiL so that ought to dry outside. Otherwise a domestic day, including trying to sort out why my credit card appears to have stopped working. Always something to worry one.

Marydoll Mon 25-Sept-23 08:44:48

Mick I do worry about you using over the counter meds. Have you spoken to your healthcare team?
Aly, that did cross my mind too, but I was wary of saying. These things should be monitored by our clinicians.
I also wondered if a dietician could advise you Mick, on food which wouldn't irritae your system.

Jaxjacky Mon 25-Sept-23 08:37:45

Morning from a sunny autumnal S Hants, as others have said, great rugby over the weekend.
Bed stripped, so I’ll get that on, voluntary phone day, flu jab and a walk before quiz tonight.
Safe travelling Ash and brook, best wishes for your sister WWM2.
Not seen Ekwanimitee here for a while?
Enjoy your day🦩🦩

ginny Mon 25-Sept-23 08:17:53

Good morning. Nice sunny start to the day here in N. Bucks.
DGS3s 21st birthday meal was enjoyable, . The staff at the venue were great. DGS did not want a fuss and asked that we didn’t sing Happy Birthday. So, we each gave a spoken memory of him during his childhood. Well, we had to embarrass him somehow. He found it funny.
We got home to find a group of National Grid vans outside . 4 neighbours were without electricity, our house was fine. They were outside until about 6 am but didn’t disturb us much. There are 2 large holes in the path outside so hope the day crew will be back.
I have a physio appointment this afternoon prior to my op next week. Otherwise bits and bobs to sort out.
Wishing travellers a safe journey and healing thoughts for all who need them.

Alygran Mon 25-Sept-23 08:16:50

Good morning from North Yorkshire. The sun is shining and it’s very windy.
The service yesterday went really well as did my lunch club. We then had more rain so an afternoon of knitting.
Today it’s the village walking group. I’ll need my big boots for the first time in a while. It’ll be muddy.
This afternoon the alarm man is coming with the new smoke alarm.
Good to read news of family parties, day trips and holidays and happy dancers.
Mick I do worry about you using over the counter meds. Have you spoken to your healthcare team?
Have a good day everyone.

Liberty Mon 25-Sept-23 08:12:37

Good morning from another lovely sunny Suffolk. Not much has to happen here today apart from flu jabs this afternoon. We wanted separate flu and COVID ones so the C ones are on Friday early morning.

Managed quite a bit of garden tidying up yesterday until the wind became quite strong later in the afternoon and planted some narcissi in pots…..the tulips will wait until November I think.

Hope there is a little sunshine today for all.

Grammaretto Mon 25-Sept-23 08:09:29

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It's blowing a Hoolie and has been all night. I hardly slept and after my covid and flu jags yesterday am a bit wabbit. A quiet day is called for

Glad you are getting better Mick

The open studios were successful and I met several neighbours old and new.
Have a good day everyone whatever you are doing.

Marydoll Mon 25-Sept-23 08:04:50

I meant to say, safe journey Brook. I was telling DH how much I envy your fitness and hearing about your travels.
