Good morning from a grey W Kent. I have to pop into town today for some Chr……,bits for when we visit DD2 soon, have to think ahead for her family.
Happy birthday Grandmadinosaur and Nankate. Hope you have a lovely day.
Grandmabatty such a lot on your plate.
Take care everyone

Marydoll Wed 27-Sept-23 08:14:46

Crossed posts Grandmabatty. I think quite few on here, have been in similar situations with our mothers and can empathise with you. 💐

Urmstongran Wed 27-Sept-23 08:13:14

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s surprisingly mild. No sign of Agnes. Yet.

Here’s Matt.

Morning Mick, morning All. Grey skies over our temporary Dorset home.

A boat trip yesterday provided a lot of fresh air with minimal exertion. Not sure what we’ll do today, see how much energy we both have. I’m happy boat-watching from the window or balcony.

A very happy birthday to grandmadinosaur and nankate. 🎈🎂🥂.

Good luck mattie. When in similar situations situations I have made notes, asked for written confirmation of agreed actions which if not forthcoming I’ve provided myself from my notes. Seems to concentrate minds. Hope common sense prevails for you.

Stressful times grandmab. If (when!) the day comes for us there would be a similar split in our family. Your little grandson sounds incredibly difficult to keep calm, a lot to manage just now.

Breakfast time, hmm, we may feel a need to go downstairs to one of the cafes smile.

Have the best day you can everyone.

EkwaNimitee Wed 27-Sept-23 08:11:30

Good morning Mick and everyone from an increasingly dark Carlisle.
I'm feeling grim this morning after a bad night. After a happy dynamic day spent partly in the garden, around dinner time I was struck with a runny nose and a vicious cough which lasted all evening and night with a bad headache as accompaniment. The cough and chestiness is improved somewhat but it's going to be a nothing day I think. I blame sitting for hours on a plane surrounded by folk breathing out germs! I had a mild cold at the beginning of the cruise for the same reason I suspect.
At least the weather will prevent any gardening and it'll be too dark to see any dust so I plan lie about with a book and tablet....not the pill sort!

Happy birthdays to you Grandmadinosaur and NanKate.

You're having challenging times Grandmabatty, on two fronts. I had the 'I wish I were dead' remark from my very aging mother and you have my sympathies and thoughts.

Marydoll Wed 27-Sept-23 08:11:18

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 17°C, with showers forecast.

Happy birthday to NanKate and Grandmadinosaur . 🎉🎁🎂
I have a feeling this may be a significant one for Kate. A reminder popped up on my PC!

LLFL, I hope you you feel better, have a satisfactory appointment and get some reassurance from your GP.
Sorry to put a damper on your trip, but faints have to be declared on your travel insurance. I know from experience.

We had a lovely morning yesterday with Dollie and Babydoll and of course I fell asleep later, when we came back. The fatigue was overwhelming.
I had an Evri parcel due to be delivered yesterday morning, then saw a message saying it was too large to deliver and it needed a specialist courier!
What a lot of nonsense, it was a medium sized box, with some clothes I had bought for DD.
I suspect the courier forgot to load it on the van, this has happened before.

I hope Greatgrandmabatty had a better day yesterday.

Mizuna, well done you for volunteering. As a designated validator, I do Police checks for our Diocese.
I get quite anxious, because it needs diplomacy, as Disclosure Scotland are very rigorous and applicants get be quite nervous, even parking tickets show up. Thankfully, as it should be, I don't see what comes back, it goes directfully to the Bishop's office.

I have little plans for today, apart from returning something to church and picking up a balance of prescriptions, which I forgot about again.
I also need to finish off the cull for the charity shop collection tomorrow.
The spare room looks as if it has been a victim of Storm Agnes!

Have a pleasant day and best wishes for all the poorlies. 💐

Greyduster Wed 27-Sept-23 08:07:55

Happy birthday, Grandmadinosaur and NanKate. Have a lovely day, both!💐🎂

Beechnut Wed 27-Sept-23 08:07:32

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. Overcast here this morning.
I didn’t go to bed until nearly 3am as I got too cosy under the blanket I put over my knees and dropped off to sleep. Then I couldn’t get back off for a good while and am up later than usual.
Will be thinking of Urmsandhimself today.
I’ve got some crafting to do over the next few days and I think my friends are coming today with some more storage items.

Have a good day all 🌻

Good morning from a soon to be sunny Oxfordshire, I hope, we are picking the dog up and taking her through the woods on the way back home, it was a lovely walk earlier this week and she loves it there, very muddy though so wellies will be required
The 2ft or so that the hedging chapels took off of our hedges has made such a difference to the light coming in through our windows, especially as the sun get lower now. They are still 6ft or so, so no privacy lost and they managed to save most of the berries for the birds.
Apart from dog walking an easy day here, loads of leftovers from supper last night so dinner is sorted.
Happy birthday nankate and Grandmadinosaur hope you both have a lovely day.
Thoughts are with those who are unwell or looking after ill family.

Liberty Wed 27-Sept-23 08:05:24

Good morning from a dry and still Suffolk. Yesterday was so sunny and warm that we had lunch outside after the Arts lecture.

Today my keep fit class and then coffee( and perhaps cake) with Gingster which I’m looking forward to.

Happy birthday to those celebrating, and kind thoughts to those with anxieties about their health or that of loved ones…..and strength for gM for her meeting with what sounds like almost ‘the other side’.

Good morning everyone from a grey and misty Northampton; according to my weather app it should be bright and sunny, so I am not sure whether to start the washing machine off.

Pouring rain yesterday morning, then brilliant sunshine all afternoon, so I enjoyed a lovely health walk with my group. It was a bit shorter than usual, as we kept to the pavements to avoid the very wet grass.
Called in at the paper shop on the way home and paid my bill - and gave in to a bag of rhubarb and custard sweets, a favourite!

A gentle morning of pottering, then out early after lunch for our monthly book club - and wondering what delicious cake we shall be sampling today! Will be nice to see everyone again after our break in August.

Happy birthday 🎂🎂 to Grandmadinosaur and Nankate; hope your days are special.

Susan56 Wed 27-Sept-23 07:57:42

Good morning from Shropshire where every type of weather is forecast at some time today.

Yesterday went well with my mum although we were only there long enough for her to open her gifts, have lunch out and coffee and cake at home. She is getting very tired after a couple of hours with visitors.

Today will be spent starting to prepare for the plumbers on Monday. We have to empty the utility room and airing cupboard and clear part of the garage for access to pipes.

Happy birthday to Grandmadinosaur and NanKate🍾🥂🎂

I hope the meeting goes well grandMattie and you can move forward with getting the bathroom sorted.Mr Teflon sounds vile😡

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Jaxjacky Wed 27-Sept-23 07:54:30

Morning from S Hampshire, we should escape the storm here.
Happy Birthday’s to Grandmadinosaur and NanKate 🎂🥂🎉.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and dry. Condensation on the windows so the heating is on for a wee while and I'll get the dehumidifier on too. A very happy birthday to Grandmadinosaur and to NanKate too. I hope both ladies are spoiled and have a lovely day. RoseandLilac I'm glad you are enjoying your painting trip. Ash that sounds like a lovely theatre day all planned. Enjoy. GrandMattie I don't think this chap knows what's going to hit him! Ladyleftfieldlover Hopefully it can be sorted easily by adjusting medication.
Thank you for the posts and messages regarding mum. I really appreciate you taking the time. We had a conversation last night where she told me that she doesn't want to be here anymore. I can't blame her for that. So a talk is required with the family as my brother is very difficult and we need to be in agreement on certain things. I had a very difficult day yesterday with dgs2 as well who had meltdown after meltdown. He hadn't slept for long enough and, in retrospect, I should have realised, but oh boy did he play up. I'm hoping he grows out of this phase quickly or I might have to wave a white flag.
Today I'm heading to the library later this morning, then I have an appointment with my lawyer to sign my will and poa this afternoon. I might not post every day for a while as life is quite demanding at the moment. I'll still read though. Have a good day all

Slightly windy but supposed to ramp up later, down South.

Like others, this is a quiet week.
But I have caught a cold. I know exactly from whom.

brook2704 Wed 27-Sept-23 07:35:10

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry with blue sky but looks windy.
A very Happy Birthday Grandmadinosaur and NanKate wishing you both a very special day! 🎂💐🥂
Enjoy your day Ash sounds good
Today I’m off to the gym for a couple of classes and then home for the afternoon. If it’s dry there’s lots to keep me busy in the garden.
Well done Mizuna hope you enjoy your new volunteering role
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Grandmadinosaur Wed 27-Sept-23 07:31:03

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It’s a cloudy morning and was quite darker earlier.

I have been awake since about 5.30 don’t know why apart from excitement maybe? Today is my birthday that I share with NanKate so happy birthday to her today 💐🎂
Being a typical Libran I am undecided what to do today. I’m thinking perhaps a trip to Beverley and we will have a nice lunch there. DH bought me a lovely coat but as Alexa says it’s 20 degrees I think it will be too warm to wear it. The family are coming round for cake and fizz later. Apparently GS wants to bake me a cake. He’s such a thoughtful boy.

Hope you get to seek some answers to your fainting issue LLFL

Hugs to ones who need them 💐

Pittcity Wed 27-Sept-23 07:28:42

Good morning from a greyish Colchester. No rain in the forecast and reaching 20°.
Yesterday I treated myself to a Primark Snuddie so I can hold off putting the heating on. It'll be in the cupboard a while longer as it's still Summer temperatures here.
Usual Wednesday morning coffee meetup in the city centre and a walk to Aldi this afternoon.
Love to all 🦩 x

ginny Wed 27-Sept-23 07:23:43

Good morning all.
A quiet day for me. A couple hours f cakes to make and I’ll hopefully finish the draught excluder I am making for DD2.
Healing thoughts to all who need them.

kittylester Wed 27-Sept-23 07:19:49

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

We have cleaning fairies this morning too. DH is off to the gym.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Mizuna Wed 27-Sept-23 07:16:47

Good morning from a wet, windy Cornwall. Lovely time at the hospital yesterday, very caring Volunteer Coordinators. Have been accepted and now have to go through police check etc. Thanks for your good wishes.

Got home to find new smoke and carbon monoxide alarms had been fitted in my absence; my neighbour had let the electrician in (his visit was expected). Messaged my landlord to thank him and he replied: 'That's news to me. I just asked him to do a survey and report back.' Oops.

Today will ring my doctor to discuss my meds. Otherwise a quiet day. Well, that's the plan right now but things often change as the day progresses...

GrannyGravy13 Wed 27-Sept-23 07:03:22

Morning all it’s grey and calm outside in S E Essex.

Cleaning fairies are here this morning, I am off to the gym this morning. This afternoon no plans.

lfll I hope you consider to feel better.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Whitewavemark2 Wed 27-Sept-23 07:01:29

Good morning from another warm forecast for the South Downs. I’ve made a big error in putting away my summer stuff! Far too hot for jumpers.

Yesterday I made the Christmas mincemeat, that is now potted up.

I am considering using the car now to take Duncan to the park for his walk, as on the way home yesterday, he laid down. It might have been the heat I suppose as it was very warm yesterday.

Nothing planned for today - take it as it comes sort of day.

Stir fry fish planned but I fancy fish and chips so it might be that.

Peace and harmony to you all.

Ashcombe Wed 27-Sept-23 06:59:16

Good morning from a dark but dry Torbay. We too had unexpected sunshine yesterday, monk08.

Good luck with Mr. Teflon, grandMattie. He sounds as if he has a lot to learn about older ladies with very valid opinions.

I think you’re wise to contact your GP, Ladyleftfieldlover.

It sounds like you’re enjoying your painting holiday, RosesandLilac and not letting the bank card issue spoil it for you.

DH and I are hosting Wednesday Club today then stay on to lock up after a letting for a community group at the theatre. Tonight I hope to attend the first read through of Cranford at Christmas.

Happy hump day, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
