Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people. I can't understand how the brillo pads are supposed to help MrSoop's poor head? Sounds painful!

A cold and frosty start in Lanarkshire today, heating on, winter coat on for Mass and savoury mince in the slow cooker... winter draws on!

We had a great visit from the Wee Boy and his Mummy and Daddy, and DS3, who sat crossed legged on the floor building towers and castles of blocks for the Wee Boy to knock down with his Monaco racing cars! Home made soup and rolls on sausage went down well. DS1 and family are on holiday.
At one point the Wee Boy followed me upstairs, there are toys and books in the grandchildren's room, but all he wanted to play with was the hoover! So we had to take turns hoovering the landing!🤣

Great to have your wee family safely home, Grandmabatty. The chicken deserves pride of place, it's destined to become a family heirloom, chosen and given with lots of love. 💙 🐔
I love your beautiful pastel 🎃 pumpkin.

Thinking of you, Harrigran, and GrannySomerset. I agree with Annsixty's wise words. I hope you can find some comfort in treasured memories of happy times. 💐💕

Good luck with that phone call tomorrow, Charleygirl. 🤞

SueD, good luck with taking your Christmas cake to your DS in USA. I'm sure it will be much appreciated! Our haggis was confiscated on our trip to my brother in Chicago some years ago...

Well done, Scapa, Brook and Jaxjacky on your wintry walks. I haven't been out walking since I got home on Monday, must try harder!

Hulahoop, well done getting your bedding dried outside, that's my plan for tomorrow. It looks like we'll have a few dry days, nice for the children on holiday.

Hello 👋 Hiraeth!

I'm sure you enjoyed your surprise DGC sleepover, Nannytopsy, happy times!

Thinking of Blossoming, Cornergran, MrC and DiL, the Urms, great to hear of Himself driving, that will do wonders for his confidence! 💕🙏

Forgive me if I haven't mentioned you by name, I've read all the posts now and I'm TOYA. Wishing everyone a peaceful Sunday evening, NNGB.

He will inspect the chicken each time he visits-he really is a thoughtful young man and cares for his gran.

I know how you feel soop. I was informed by email today that my car emergency service was not covered and I was being offered 10% to do it. Fortunately for them, the company was closed because they managed to extract the full annual amount from my bank account on the 10th of this month. The company will have some explaining to do tomorrow.

Love your fridge magnet Grandmabatty very colourful, you’ll never forget p your grandson’s excitement in the giving.
I don’t like the sound of those pads soop at all 😱.

A lovely walk earlier, but chilly, it encourages a bit of speed, I’m an ambler by nature.
England just, just, won the rugby, a riveting game.
Stew in the slow cooker, no dumplings, mash and sprouts, just the job for this weather.
Enjoy your evening all.

Grandmabatty The gift from your grandson was chosen with love. I know that you will treasure it. smile

harrigran and another comforting hug from me. flowers

Grandmabatty you are very talented. The photograph is beautiful.

Super positive news from Urms and corner. Us lot are delighted for you.

We were expecting a parcel delivery on Friday. We remained at home all day. On Saturday I received a text saying that the parcel could not be delivered "as no-one at home". Twaddle! I was asked to contact the help line to agree on a new delivery date. We both spent over thirty minutes being shunted from one "assistant" to another. More twaddle. Then, after all that time, we were notified that the parcel had not yet been despatched. Very bad language uttered by me. Mr Soop merely shook his head and sighed. At that point, the computer (which was not to blame) came close to being hurled through the window. hmm I have since calmed down. Thanks for listening to my silly gripe.

The GP's surgery have issued Mr Soop with some abrasive scalp pads. Not unlike flattened brillo pads. I am in charge of administering the treatment. Must confess to being a tad nervous. I am aware of how sore his scalp is.

I shall raise a glass of cheer to all our Kitcheners at 8:30 precisely.

Aww what a gorgeous present from your DGS grandmabatty, lovely that he was so excited to give it to you! It’s definitely something to keep forever x

Good afternoon kitcheners. That sounds like a lovely walk Brook. My wee family visited earlier and were like hurricanes. But it was lovely to see them. Dgs1 chose a fridge magnet for me as a holiday gift because he knew I would love it. A chicken. I have never expressed a love of them, apart from on the plate. However he was so excited to give me it. I have attached a photo so you can share in the love. 😂 The Christmas cake is finally made and I'm about to stew apples for an apple sponge. I have recovered the house from the hurricane onslaught and I'm having a cuppa. You'll never guess what I'm having for dinner?
PS. He just asked his mum if I loved his present. He's a wee star!

Good afternoon kitchen pals, it’s cold here too with a fine dusting of snow on the hills in the distance.
Had a lovely catch up call with DS earlier and we’re planning a little holiday together in springtime next year, something to look forward too. DH went off to work so I decided to wrap up warm - thermals on here too Jax, and go out for a walk. Wishing you could have come with me hulahoop what a shame if your mobility doesn’t allow it. I hope you can find something else you enjoy instead. I managed about 6 miles walking and then met up with DH for a bowl of warm soup in a cafe. I’m home now having a rest although I must try to get out and do a bit of gardening this afternoon if I can.

What beautiful memories you have harrigran from your late husband. Keep them in your heart they’re precious .

hulahoop Sun 15-Oct-23 13:41:00

We had frost on cars and she's told this morning it's sunny but very cold. My bedding is blowing on the line .
Wish my mobility was better it's a lovely day for a walk.
Hope everyone finds something good..

Jaxjacky Sun 15-Oct-23 12:21:03

Afternoon kitcheners, frost on the cars earlier, thermal t shirt and gloves are in use Blossoming.
Enjoy your day all.

Nannytopsy Sun 15-Oct-23 08:37:18

Morning! It’s a beautiful but chilly one in Suffolk - there was the lightest of frosts on our neighbour’s roof this morning. It may be time to fire up the boiler 🔥
We had a surprise overnight visit from the DGC so Grandpa needs to make a start on breakfast.
Hope you all enjoy the day.

Scapa1 Sat 14-Oct-23 20:41:05

Thoughts with Harrigran. What a wonderful sunny day it was today although a chilly wind. We had a lovely walk along the Fife coastal path from Culross, the tide of the River Forth was in which made it look so much better. Lots of people walking making the most of the day. Bedding washed and hung out and it was dry when brought in. Hopefully more of the same tomorrow.

SueDonim Sat 14-Oct-23 20:26:53
