Harrigran a hug from me to you.

Here we are again...
And a very warm welcome to the newest kitchen.

Harrigran a hug from me to you.
Kindest thoughts Harrigran from just one of many of us who know just how you feel.
Take heart that although it is so hard we are the lucky ones to have had that sort of marriage.
Knock, knock excuse me is the kitchen open ?
I need a cosy corner and a shoulder to lean on. Today would have been our 56th wedding anniversary and DH was so romantic, he used to arrange a meal out which always included our favourite pink champagne. This is the second anniversary without him and it does not get any easier 😥
That is just splendid news from Urms re MrU and Corner re her DIL. Today has been a good day for you both!
GMbatty the pastels pumpkin is lovely! My dad was something of an artist in pen & ink but he failed to pass on any of those genes to his offspring. Ditto my mum’s musical abilities. Oh dear!
I’m looking forward to seeing your decorating photos, LLFL. We’re in a new-build and I am sick of plain, boring white walls. I need colour in my life! Maybe next year we can start to change things about a bit.
Topsy I hope you soon get to the top of the list for the TKR. I don’t know about others but my friends here in Scotland have noticed that nowadays, when we hear of someone having an elective op such as TKR the first question that gets asked is ‘Did you go private?’ Five years ago I never would have dreamt that we’d be in such a parlous state.
Sika deer, Soop? Presumably they were introduced to someone’s estate then went feral? I hope MrS is soon recovered from his damaged head.
Fish & chips, Annsixty Yum!
I’m sure I’ve missed out some folk, but you’re all in my mind.
The weather here seems to be in contrast to most people’s, we’ve had some bright sunny days since last weekend’s deluge. The washing has even dried outside so that’s a bonus. It’s not warm, though I’ve not resorted to thermals yet. If I wear them now, what will I wear in January? Two or three layers of thermals, I guess!
I had a lovely day of socialising with friends yesterday including having high tea at a hotel. I was awash with buckets of tea by the time I got home.
Today we had a man in to clean the oven. He was most disappointed that it wasn’t more of a challenge, he said it was barely dirty at all, which makes me wonder about the state of other people’s ovens!
We had charge of GS today, he was his usual chirpy and happy self. He ‘helped’ me in the garden and then insisted we sat down together and scrolled through a plant catalogue. Such a funny choice of reading matter for a barely 2yo! 🌸
I also managed to find time to order some fabric for blinds, sort out paperwork (what happened to the paperless society we were all promised?) look at some bits and bobs for the house and do some laundry.
This weekend we’ll be packing to go on our trip to the US next week. Dd will be bringing the children to see us one day this weekend, before we - and they - go away.
Goodnight, everyone! Xx
Lovely news Urms!
Urms that really is good news, definitely a very good Friday the 13th for you.
corner that really is good news as I believe it has been a really long day for your DinL It is the start of a very long journey. I wonder when she will recognise her DH?
I hope Mr. C is also making good progress and you have not forgotten that word rest. Your son and the little one will be relieved that she has come through the worst part. Age is on her side.
soop I will soon be suggesting you leave Mr. s indoors. Have you seen a certain little cat recently?
ann I would have mega difficulty keeping my mouth shut when in the company of your friend!
TOYA
Great news Urms and Cornergran.🌻🌻
Really good news urms. Sleep well.
You must both be really chuffed Urms x
Thanks brook I owe you one!
That is lovely to hear Urmston. More power to his (driving) elbow
Such good news Urms so pleased for you both ❤️
‘Evening All’.
I’m so emotional (in a good way) this evening. Himself drove for the first time this afternoon since April. Not far, but a milestone reached - mentally as well as physically. A big deal as I’m sure you will all understand. We’ve been through some tough times since back then. Today, Friday 13th was, for us, a Really Great Day.
😊
Cornergran that is such good news. I'm happy for you all.
Crossed posts Cornergran that’s marvellous news!
Good evening dear Kitcheners. It’s been raining nearly all day, glad I sorted the laundry yesterday. Had to visit the GP surgery this morning as my kidney function test is overdue. It should have been done with my recent blood tests, but never mind. It’s gone to the lab now. Quite a lazy afternoon , a little housework, some exercise and listening to an autobiography of Thomas Cromwell. MrB made chicken, rice and peas for dinner, yoghurt for pudding.
You really have such a lot to cope with Cornergran, sending positive vibes to your DiL and hoping everything goes smoothly. I’m glad to hear MrC is doing well.
You could try getting him a safety helmet Soop, but on reflection it’s probably best not to cover the treated skin.
Hope your appointments go well Yia and Topsy.
Jax I have my thermal vest on right now 😂.
Love your pumpkin pic Grandmabatty
Lovely to see you Annsixty, I would love some fish and chips but we are on a healthy eating regime at the moment. Apart from the dreadful vaccine reaction my gut has been behaving itself so fish and chips will have to wait.
So kind of you to do a walk for Jax, Brook! I am quite envious of your energy.
Ladyleftfieldlover please could you follow Brook’s example and eat some fish and chips for me 😂
Goodnight lovely people, TOYA ❤️
Good news to share. Our daughter in law came through surgery well, surgeons are pleased with her and their handiwork. We can breathe again now
.
Mr Soop truly does need a crash helmet soop. Hope he’ll avoid accidents now.
Love the pumpkin grandmab. Sadly not an artistic bone in my body.
We’ve had fish and chips too ann. A real treat here. Hope you can relax now.
It’s OK jax we’ve not had a walk either. We’d have drowned this afternoon, relentless rain.
More good news to finish. The recliner part of our sofa is back from repair. Guess where I’m sitting?
Thank you all for your support. Much appreciated. I’m trying for just good news now
.
Have a good evening and weekend everyone. TOYA.
Hello kitchen people. Gosh, it’s wet. One of my cats is fed up so she’s gone to bed.
We’ve been clearing out a bedroom/study ready for the decorator. We found a DVD of my niece’s Naming Day celebrations in April 1990! She is now 34 and expecting her second baby. This was my first trip to Australia and I was 37. I look so slim and young. My sister is there too, heavily pregnant with my number 2 niece.
OH is cooking dinner - fish and chips. I am still feeling very weary from covid although my cough and cold are much better.
Have a good evening. OH is watching football, so I’ll watch some old Thick of Its.
Gorgeous pumpkin grandmabatty we’ve so much talent in the kitchen - except me of course. I’m really not creative in any way at all except I enjoy my gardening if you can include that!
My thermal top was on this morning too, first time this winter. The circuits gym class was cancelled so I went for a walk on your behalf Jax and then to the Aqua class at lunchtime instead. Enjoyed splashing around in the water and the jacuzzi afterwards. You can do my walk for me Jax another day 🤣
Poor Mr Soop soop, hope his poorly head is better soon.
Thinking of you corner and your DiL, hope all has gone well for her today
Hoping your knee isn’t too bad nanny whilst you’re waiting for your TKR
Enjoy your fish and chips ann especially now you’re home in your happy place 💕
Thankyou. Grandmabatty
She is bringing me fish and chips in at my request.
She has declined them.
Good to see you Annsixty. Definitely a takeaway!
Hello all, I’m still here and thank you Jaxjacky
I have been away for two nights with my friend across the road, it was ok but exhausting, I am shattered.
Each time I say it is the last, I “think” I mean it this time.
Sadly she is very entitled and as she is 5 years younger than me although a hypochondriac, she thinks I can and should do more I am able but then complains about how she feels.
We had rain on Wednesday, lots of it, a dry and not too chilly day yesterday and today drove home in mist and rain.
Lovely to be back home even after 3 days, it is my happy place now.
I am sorry that so many of you are under the weather and have said prayers for Cornergran and her family.
Lovely picture Grandmabatty a real talent .
Just waiting now for my GD to come home from work-to decide if we are treating ourselves to a take away as I am too tired to cook but also not much food in the house!!
Have the best evening you can everyone.
Gosh Grandmabatty how rude am I! Love your pumpkin, it looks almost luminous, clever you 👏👏.
Mrsoop needs a crash helmet soop or at least a hat of some sort!
Thanks Blossoming they will be worn tonight when we go to the pub, thermal top will be on tomorrow and thermal socks.
corner don’t forget you amidst all your concerns💐.
I’ve emptied the last of the tubs and baskets, read for violas arriving at the end of the month, new compost for topping up and some feed will be added. I visited the farm shop and bought, amongst other bits, sprouts, MrJ will eat a few after years of reticence. Feeling guilty as I haven’t been for a walk, one day won’t hurt I suppose.
Chicken and mushroom curry tonight.
ttfn.
I've added my pastel pumpkin. It looks better in real life, honestly! Yiayia I hope your appointment helps you. Nannytopsy hopefully your appointment will be bumped up.
Teeth checked✓ feet checked✓ I had spare time between appointments so I nipped into Matalan. Big mistake!! I spent a fortune on stuff for the boys, new towels, a jumper for me and a pumpkin shaped bowl. This afternoon I'm getting on with housework and washing. Tomorrow I'm meeting a friend for lunch at my local garden centre where no doubt more money will be spent. Cheese omelette for dinner tonight. Have a good afternoon kitcheners
Sunny greetings from Kintye.
SueD The deer are Sika. We used to feed deer with apple across the fence. We then realised that it could well encourage them to leave the safety of the copse.
corner^Us lot^ are sending positive vibes across the airways. In fact, we'll all rally and give you a warming group hug.
As per, there is a pile of ironing to tackle. Sheets and pillow cases plus shirts and blouses.
Mr Soop's treated scalp was less sore this morning. That is until he banged his head as he entered the car. As a result, it's bleeding and looking angry. What shall I do with him?
Well, it's a big night for Corrie fans. Even Mr Soop is wondering "what next".
At the appointed hour, I shall lift a glass of smooth red wine and wish you all a pleasant and peaceful weekend.
