Good Morning Everyone,
Dark but dry with a forecast of another hot spell for this part of UK at brackley.
Today , my aim is bus to Bicester , duration could be one to two hours depending on how I feel.
Then watch TV of course with some cycling on .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all. It isn't raining on the Angus coast! And it feels milder. The washing's in the machine although I don't think there's much drouth - but better done than not.
What a shock to the system coming home from 36° to the rain and floods, Scapa. My DGDs are near you and one of them had to drive home from her weekend job in Crieff on Saturday night. She said it was a horrible drive, but her friend showed photos of floods the next morning which were so much worse. Sensibly she stayed home on Sunday.
There's a lot of COVID talk on here today - difficult to believe that four years ago we hadn't heard of it!
Lovely reading all about the amazing weather down south. Our climate is interesting to say the least! I wish you could send some of it up here, but instead (according to the Countryfile forecast) we're sending some of the rain to you. Sorry!
I see Management isn't losing its obstructive qualities grandmattie. What became of the asbestos? Is it still there, or has it miraculously disappeared?
Right. That's enough from me. I hope all the poorly people improve with rest as the day goes on - Susan, Blossoming, Marydoll. Now off I go for an amble through the To Do list. Enjoy your days in the sunshine x

Happy Birthday Primrose 🎂🎉have a lovely day and enjoy your lunch.

Grandmabatty Mon 09-Oct-23 08:43:54

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14° and dry for a change. Primrose a very happy birthday to you. Have a lovely day.
Not much happening here. I'm wallowing in laziness while the family are on holiday. Dgs1 is having a ball in the pool and his swimming is coming on. Apparently he has seen something that I would like, so they are buying it for me 😄. Dgs2 isn't coping with the heat in Portugal and is having long naps.
What is in the water? I, too, had a very bad night's sleep last night. I feel a bit washed out today. I have a phone call to make to the hospital to speak to the advanced health care nurse who needs more information about something. I might go to Tesco or I might be very lazy, I haven't decided. Have a good day all

Happy birthday Primrose enjoy your day 🎉🎂🍷🎁.

Primrose53 Mon 09-Oct-23 08:37:16

Good morning. It’s my Birthday today. Lovely bright start in North Norfolk so it should be one of the warmest birthdays ever. It was still 19c at 8.45 last night.

My friend is taking me out for lunch today and we might have a walk. Yesterday we had a family meal out for 5 which was very nice.

Good morning everyone from a sunny north Kent. Another beautiful day forecast.

Had my fifth covid vaccine on Saturday; had a reaction from the others so when I woke up yesterday feeling bright and breezy I felt quite pleased. As the day wore on I developed a cotton wool headache which took a while to go so I spent the afternoon lolling about in the sunshine reading my book. This morning I feel ok so hopefully that’s it.

Today I have a manicure and afterwards I might go for a walk into town via the seafront; shame to waste the weather.

Hope you all have a good day

harrigran Mon 09-Oct-23 08:35:13

Good morning from a dull but mild NE.
Had a lazy day yesterday, only housework was to run the vacuum around downstairs.
I binge watched the new series of Ghosts.
SIL is suffering quite badly with covid, he says he is not sleeping and feels very weak.
Need to sort out some paperwork before phone appointment with solicitor tomorrow.
I had very little reaction to my vaccinations, both at once, just a sore arm on the covid side.
Have a good day.

Good morning from Suffolk where the sun is trying to make a welcome appearance. Yesterday’s warmth brought out numerous insects and a large beautifully patterned brown and mustard coloured butterfly, the likes of which I haven’t seen before. I hope they can return safely to wherever they were before this unusual heat.

I’m meeting a friend this morning for coffee,a walk along our nearest river and then lunch in an old fashioned cafe favoured by locals and not people just visiting the town. It’s tucked away down a little side street with no visible signs of being open but they are always busy, always several people on their own who enjoy the friendliness of the place….as we do.

Georgesgran Mon 09-Oct-23 08:17:41

Good morning from Durham. No sign of the sun all weekend, but it’s very warm and heavy up here.
I shall be at the same retail park as you Grandmachrisy47 in a couple of hours - coffee with a friend. Later, I’ll take DD2’s laundry back, along with a suitcase she wants to borrow for tomorrow’s flight. I’ll return with Little Dog and probably keep him for 10 days, as she’s having a fence repaired the day after she gets home.
I hope you get some rest Marydoll after your sleepless night.
Best wishes to all. X

luluaugust Mon 09-Oct-23 08:17:40

Good morning from a bright Perth. Hoping to get to The House of Bruar today. A good wander round with DD will suit me just fine, perhaps I will find a little something ..,,,,, DGS3 is 21 today time flying again. He was the GC who I looked after from a small baby a couple of days a week.
I had a reaction to the jab this time goodness knows what was in it as no trouble with the others. Are we getting overloaded?
Very best wishes to all those feeling unwell and those trying to sort out life’s problems.

monk08 Mon 09-Oct-23 08:11:16

Good morning all from the Black country.
Yesterday my bus pass took me to DH least favourite place Merry Hill where I managed to get myself some new sketchers and a few presents.
Today will be a tidying round day then packing for our trip to Scarborough tomorrow.
grandMattie good that you have a date 🤞 there are no more delays.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

grandMattie Mon 09-Oct-23 08:10:29

I hope you don’t feel too awful after your jab, Ash. 🫂

Good morning everyone from Oslo.

We had an amazing day yesterday, lots of history a car ferry across the fjord then a foot ferry to Oscasborg fortress, the story of this island is quite incredible, there should be a link at the end.

We got to Oslo around 6pm and went to a traditional Norwegian restaurant for diner, I had reindeer for the first time, it was delicious.

On the way home we bumped into our good friends son and his wife, it was unbelievable as this time last year we bumped into them too, they are both in the Oslo ballet here!
We are meeting them for drinks after their rehearsal.

Walking into Oslo today up to the fjord and some window shopping, nothing is cheap here!

Have a good start to the week everyone.

Joiner coming to make a start on work for replacing the hideous internal doors. One set will have to be custom made, the rest off the peg from Howdens. This is being funded by a bequest from my oldest friend and will improve the house enormously. No other plans apart from still trying to print off by train tickets for the end of the week.

Still blessed with sunshine, unlike so many places further north. Hope the damp are now drying out and that the unwell have a better day.

Gwenisgreat Mon 09-Oct-23 08:01:47

Good morning all from dull Harrogate.
Ash hope your jag doesn’t have too much adverse effect.
Oh GrandMattie the management company seem to be making a saga out of your bathroom, have they nothing better to do?
I’m sorry you are having to stay in bed Marydoll. Rest might just be cute?
I had a lousy night last night and now have a troublesome cough. Will do a covid test when I’m up, just in case!
Have the best day possible folks

Beechnut Mon 09-Oct-23 08:00:42

Good morning everyone from Severnside. Overcast at the moment.
I had my covid jab yesterday and then did a small tour on my way home going past my old schools and one of the villages I grew up in.
Today I have to see about a dental appointment as I have lost a filling and crown within a few days of each other.
I’ve also some cards to make and I might mow the lawn, if not the lawn will be done tomorrow as rain is expected for the rest of the week.
Good wishes to all 🌞

Pittcity Mon 09-Oct-23 07:59:58

Good morning from cloudy Belfast. A high of 21° forecast here today with the clouds clearing later.
We took a day trip to the Giants causeway yesterday and today will take the tourist bus around the City. Yesterday's early start meant I didn't post until late but today we had a lie in and will soon have a leisurely hotel breakfast.
Love to all 🦩 x

Gingster Mon 09-Oct-23 07:58:27

Good morning all and it’s another lovely day.

We’ve had a busy weekend with our boys here. They worked so hard in the garden, chopping, weeding, clearing. It’s a big garden and does need a lot of attention, but as we’re aren’t here all the time, things get too much for us., They enjoy their time together and with us , so it’s a win win situation.

We took them to the local carvery which was delicious, as usual.

They both had a swim in the sea before they left, and said it was warmest they e ever known.

Today we’ll probably walk in the forest and gather chestnuts. They weren’t quite ready two weeks ago, so we should be lucky today.

Marydoll - 💐.
Brook I hope you manage to have your picnic. 🤞.

It’s hard to believe some of you have floods and torrential rain.
Take care and I hope it eases soon.🙏.

Have a ‘good’ day everyone 🌻

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Elder son, partner and my granddaughter went kayaking yesterday morning and we met them for lunch in our favourite Sunday lunch restaurant. Back to ours to dry out their kayak and they then drove back to Kew.
My sister messaged me last night to say a lot of the wedding party last weekend had covid. The groom, his parents, a couple of people we were sharing a house with… I have been under the weather anyway with having to take antibiotics. I started feeling quite unwell last night so will take a covid test this morning. Annoyingly I still haven’t had my booster. I was booked in a couple of weeks ago but had my fainting episode. I am booked tomorrow morning for a flu and covid jab. We’ll see! So, I am currently lying in bed with a thick head, bunged up nose and feeling annoyed. I have a busy week including going up to Kew to look after my granddaughter for a couple of days. Who knows?
Have a good day all of you. MaryD, you must be so frustrated.

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 09-Oct-23 07:50:25

Good morning from a calm and soon to be sunny, I hope, Oxfordshire.
Another 4 hours sleep last night! I’m being spoilt.
Cough came back again though yesterday evening, so not feeling as well as I was. One step forward and 2 back.

Shopping delivery after consult with Nurse this morning,

MrOops is going a bit stir crazy, he was told he has to stick close to me at the moment and apart from going to the shop to buy milk he’s doing his duty.

My brain refuses to admit I have a problem, when I obviously do, so he has to be my guide on what I have to do, my head just goes’ oh dear, I don’t feel to well, I’ll just sit here quietly and try to breathe’ what it should be saying is ‘ get your inhalers out woman and then ring for the Ambulance if the coughing doesn’t stop’ it happens every time though so it’s a bit worrying.
Anyway, enough.
Have a good day everyone, even if it’s just looking out at a super Autumn day. Take care all those with stress and worries, on the move or frustrated with a particular Management Company. You know who you are!
💐to MD,Urms and Kalu

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s very mild today. The sky is just turning pink with the sunrise.
Returned home across the Woodhead Pass yesterday. It was beautiful in the sunshine.DGS ‘s team lost their friendly but he played well and was man of the match. I hadn’t seen him for a while and was surprised by his new deep voice, especially calling out in the match 🤣
DD2 is much improved. On Saturday I was wondering about a trip to urgent care as her breathing was poor. I decided not to say anything, but over breakfast yesterday she said she had been thinking it too.
Off to Richmond today for the parent carer charity meet up. No coffee to make as they provide it at the venue. Then my hairdresser is coming to cut and blow dry my hair. Late this afternoon the gardener is coming to see which trees are ready for a tidy up.
Mary rest up. Hope your DH enjoys his golf.
GM fingers crossed for your bathroom plans to be on time.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning from high cloud,:sun due later in S Hants. Best wishes to Whitewave for her op today and I hope ginny is recovering well.
Ash hopefully réaction free from your jab 🤞.
Voluntary phones today, prescription collection and quiz tonight.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from an overcast South Yorkshire. Had a lovely Sunday dinner here yesterday (we never quite manage the lunch period - too many things get in the way!) with DD and the boys. It’s the only time I get to cook anything substantial these days. Swimming this morning and then to a drive to a nearby village to buy some wool. Not many wool shops left these days.
Have the best day you can folks.

NannyJan53 Mon 09-Oct-23 07:23:46

Good morning from a still dark Black Country, where a sunny day is promised again!

Pleasant walk with my friend yesterday to the park and back. It was so warm, no coats needed.

Up early to chop the veg for my chicken and veg soup with pearl barley. It makes enough for lunch for the two of us until Thursday.

Monday walk this morning, and tackle cutting the lawn the afternoon. Probably the last cut of the season.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

brook2704 Mon 09-Oct-23 07:21:42

Good morning everyone from Inverness where eventually it seems to have stopped raining. I’m definitely envious of all the warm sunshine further south, we’re living in the wrong place!
We’ve got the DGC here just now, DD2 dropped them off yesterday afternoon and stayed for a while for a catch up. Today we’re supposed to be having a day out at the Wildlife park but I’ll need to check the road closures before we set off as there’s lots of flooding in the area. Thank you to a kind poster who let me know about that
Hope the vaccine goes ok Ash with no after effects
Good to hear Mr C is doing so well corner
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
