Good Morning Everyone,
Dark but dry with a forecast of another hot spell for this part of UK at brackley.
Today , my aim is bus to Bicester , duration could be one to two hours depending on how I feel.
Then watch TV of course with some cycling on .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Bristol, we are promised another sunny, summery day.
My upstairs neighbour and I had a good chinwag in the sun yesterday afternoon. So pleasant.
Still feeling under the weather, I spent the day at home, finishing the piccalilli and chutney, 30 pots in all. I need to wash and label them, the label are printed and need cutting out.
I’ve now assembled my quilt squares and am sewing them together. This is the only hand sewing involved.
Quiet day again today. I really want to finish the quilt as I’ve got a fairly busy week ahead and have another two to make.
My plumber is starting on 6 November, but the management company is still being difficult, requiring signatures, quotes, certificates of competence (which have already been sent - twice), yadda, yadda, yadda…
I hope everyone has a good start to the week. Hugs to all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from s somerset and a nice dry day today

I had a wonderful ride yesterday, there are lots of fallen apples on the lanes, bramleys and eating apples. I could smell cider apples when going past orchards. A few dried-up mucky bits on lanes, where farmers had not cleaned up, as they legally should, caused some bumpy areas. Many fields look ready for winter and just a couple of sweetcorn fields are left. Farmers have had a bumper harvest this year

I have some jobs to do today, prep jobs for my guests, to make catering easier for me. Flu jab discomfort has gone and I had a good sleep so I feel set-up for the day ahead

Have good day

Good morning from a dark Cornwall. Sunny day again later. Bit too hot for me yesterday but everyone else loved it. A fun 8th birthday party with my very extended family. One younger member is a bus driver and we talked about the interesting people she sees on her routes, many of which I travel on regularly. Today will be a maintenance day with visits to the library, pharmacy etc plus a trip to my fave charity shop/café with its 50p rail.

My photographer son has an interesting job soon where he'll meet Jay Blades from The Repair Shop. Last year it was Darcey Bussell and he gets time to chat to the people he's photographing and finds it really interesting. Other than that he drives night taxis and has some hair-raising tales.

Good morning from a mild but cloudy Torbay, where I arrived back safely yesterday afternoon after a very easy journey of only 50 minutes.

I have my fifth Covid vaccination this morning, just over a year since the fourth. Each time I have had a more pronounced reaction to them, usually on the following day so I’m not sure how I shall be this time. I hope the logistics of parking are better organised than they were 10 days ago for the flu vaccinations at the same venue.

I hope to get the car washed afterwards (pesky seagulls!) then attend my Move It or Lose It class after lunch.

It does sound as if the management company needs a good shake up, grandMattie. I hope your post vaccination symptoms soon subside.

How wonderful to smell cider apples, karmalady! I do enjoy your descriptions of rural life. And your family members sound like very entertaining company, Mizuna!

Thinking of those who are unwell and any of our Scottish friends suffering as a result of the flooding. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Morning Mick, morning All from a dark, mild corner of Somerset. Sunshine due later.

Garden tamed yesterday I spent a couple of hours lying down allowing my spine to recover. Intended to read, instead slept. Oops. Mr C has asked to wander out today so we will, suspect he’d like to drive again. Good to see he can and wants to do more.

Hope you feel more like your usual self soon grandmattie, the management company sound tedious but at least a date. Hooray. One of ours spent a day with Jay Blades last year mizuma, said he was interesting and easy company.

Hope Monday is kind to us all.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 09-Oct-23 06:43:36

Morning all, it’s still dark here in S E Essex but the forecast is warm and sunny, yippee!

Gym first thing followed by tea and a catch up with friends. After lunch it’s flu jab time, the year has flown by 😱

I have to get reacquainted with my kitchen this evening (having been out to eat the last 3 days) and really should do more than just look at the ironing mountain.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

kittylester Mon 09-Oct-23 06:45:39

Good morning all. North Leicestershire is still dark but the forecast is good.

Not a lot going on here. We need to empty the kitchen, again, for the decorators who arrive tomorrow.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from Shropshire.

Yesterday was like a hot summers day with more sunshine forecast today.DH got lots done in the garden and I was able to tick a few things off my very long to do list.

I am still not feeling well but we have to visit my mum to sort a few things out.DH has said he will do all the driving.I would normally drive there and he drives home.

I hope you don’t suffer any ill effects after the vaccine Ash.I had a bad reaction to the last one which I hadn’t expected as I had no reaction to the previous ones.It has made me nervous about having this latest one.

Hope all under the weather are feeling better and that ginny is recovering well.Thoughts with all who are struggling.

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Good morning everyone from a still dark but dry Northampton; another warm sunny day forecast; it was brilliant to sit and watch rugby yesterday afternoon in the sunshine. We had a good win. beating Doncaster 83-12. Enjoyed a welcome Guineas while watching!

Yoga this morning, then no plans for the rest of the day, Shall just potter; may sort out the hall coat cupboard, then probably read this afternoon. Should do some grdening, but I'm not in the mood... probably cut the grass tomorrow as it is garden bin collection this week.

Wishing all a lovely day in the sunshine 🌞🌞.

BlueSapphire Mon 09-Oct-23 06:59:16

Sorry, should be Guinness!

Grandmachrisy47 Mon 09-Oct-23 07:14:41

Good morning from a dry, dark and mild Co Durham.
No child duties today so I’m collecting my sister in law to go shopping in a nearby retail park. Need to explore M&S and Next, for clothes for our foray to Dundee in two weeks. I’ve still not lost all of the weight I gained during the various lockdowns so I need new trousers and tops. Hopefully I’ll get the shoes I need in Pavers in Dundee.
GrandMattie, I hope your bathroom job starts on time. A good few years ago a friend moved into a similar apartment and the paperwork needed for the alterations she required was mammoth!! Everything in triplicate (or so it seemed).
Hope you don’t have any reaction to your jab, Ash.
Wishing everyone with worries an easier day.

RosesandLilac Mon 09-Oct-23 07:15:17

Good morning, another beautiful day hopefully here.
We had a lovely local dog walk yesterday, watched deer and saw many squirrels (dog wasn’t amused at them taunting here!)
It was surprisingly hot by the time we got back despite leaving early on. Probably a bit too far for me but I enjoyed it.
Sitting out in the sun in the afternoon was lovely, I so love that mellow warmth.
Today more of the same but I also need to do a bit more gardening.
Have a lovely day 🌹

Marydoll Mon 09-Oct-23 07:17:42

Good morning all from Glasgow, with showers predicted.

I've been awake all night, so feel pretty grim this morning. DH is golfing and I plan to stay in bed. He keeps offering to stay at home, but he needs some time away from me to relax. Our life is on hold at the moment. I have resigned myself to this and get enjoyment from reading about all your activities and seeing your photos.

Hoping Blossoming is feeling a bit better today.

Have a good day folks.

brook2704 Mon 09-Oct-23 07:21:42

Good morning everyone from Inverness where eventually it seems to have stopped raining. I’m definitely envious of all the warm sunshine further south, we’re living in the wrong place!
We’ve got the DGC here just now, DD2 dropped them off yesterday afternoon and stayed for a while for a catch up. Today we’re supposed to be having a day out at the Wildlife park but I’ll need to check the road closures before we set off as there’s lots of flooding in the area. Thank you to a kind poster who let me know about that
Hope the vaccine goes ok Ash with no after effects
Good to hear Mr C is doing so well corner
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

NannyJan53 Mon 09-Oct-23 07:23:46

Good morning from a still dark Black Country, where a sunny day is promised again!

Pleasant walk with my friend yesterday to the park and back. It was so warm, no coats needed.

Up early to chop the veg for my chicken and veg soup with pearl barley. It makes enough for lunch for the two of us until Thursday.

Monday walk this morning, and tackle cutting the lawn the afternoon. Probably the last cut of the season.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Greyduster Mon 09-Oct-23 07:34:21

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from an overcast South Yorkshire. Had a lovely Sunday dinner here yesterday (we never quite manage the lunch period - too many things get in the way!) with DD and the boys. It’s the only time I get to cook anything substantial these days. Swimming this morning and then to a drive to a nearby village to buy some wool. Not many wool shops left these days.
Have the best day you can folks.

Jaxjacky Mon 09-Oct-23 07:46:06

Morning from high cloud,:sun due later in S Hants. Best wishes to Whitewave for her op today and I hope ginny is recovering well.
Ash hopefully réaction free from your jab 🤞.
Voluntary phones today, prescription collection and quiz tonight.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s very mild today. The sky is just turning pink with the sunrise.
Returned home across the Woodhead Pass yesterday. It was beautiful in the sunshine.DGS ‘s team lost their friendly but he played well and was man of the match. I hadn’t seen him for a while and was surprised by his new deep voice, especially calling out in the match 🤣
DD2 is much improved. On Saturday I was wondering about a trip to urgent care as her breathing was poor. I decided not to say anything, but over breakfast yesterday she said she had been thinking it too.
Off to Richmond today for the parent carer charity meet up. No coffee to make as they provide it at the venue. Then my hairdresser is coming to cut and blow dry my hair. Late this afternoon the gardener is coming to see which trees are ready for a tidy up.
Mary rest up. Hope your DH enjoys his golf.
GM fingers crossed for your bathroom plans to be on time.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a calm and soon to be sunny, I hope, Oxfordshire.
Another 4 hours sleep last night! I’m being spoilt.
Cough came back again though yesterday evening, so not feeling as well as I was. One step forward and 2 back.

Shopping delivery after consult with Nurse this morning,

MrOops is going a bit stir crazy, he was told he has to stick close to me at the moment and apart from going to the shop to buy milk he’s doing his duty.

My brain refuses to admit I have a problem, when I obviously do, so he has to be my guide on what I have to do, my head just goes’ oh dear, I don’t feel to well, I’ll just sit here quietly and try to breathe’ what it should be saying is ‘ get your inhalers out woman and then ring for the Ambulance if the coughing doesn’t stop’ it happens every time though so it’s a bit worrying.
Anyway, enough.
Have a good day everyone, even if it’s just looking out at a super Autumn day. Take care all those with stress and worries, on the move or frustrated with a particular Management Company. You know who you are!
💐to MD,Urms and Kalu

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Elder son, partner and my granddaughter went kayaking yesterday morning and we met them for lunch in our favourite Sunday lunch restaurant. Back to ours to dry out their kayak and they then drove back to Kew.
My sister messaged me last night to say a lot of the wedding party last weekend had covid. The groom, his parents, a couple of people we were sharing a house with… I have been under the weather anyway with having to take antibiotics. I started feeling quite unwell last night so will take a covid test this morning. Annoyingly I still haven’t had my booster. I was booked in a couple of weeks ago but had my fainting episode. I am booked tomorrow morning for a flu and covid jab. We’ll see! So, I am currently lying in bed with a thick head, bunged up nose and feeling annoyed. I have a busy week including going up to Kew to look after my granddaughter for a couple of days. Who knows?
Have a good day all of you. MaryD, you must be so frustrated.

Gingster Mon 09-Oct-23 07:58:27

Good morning all and it’s another lovely day.

We’ve had a busy weekend with our boys here. They worked so hard in the garden, chopping, weeding, clearing. It’s a big garden and does need a lot of attention, but as we’re aren’t here all the time, things get too much for us., They enjoy their time together and with us , so it’s a win win situation.

We took them to the local carvery which was delicious, as usual.

They both had a swim in the sea before they left, and said it was warmest they e ever known.

Today we’ll probably walk in the forest and gather chestnuts. They weren’t quite ready two weeks ago, so we should be lucky today.

Marydoll - 💐.
Brook I hope you manage to have your picnic. 🤞.

It’s hard to believe some of you have floods and torrential rain.
Take care and I hope it eases soon.🙏.

Have a ‘good’ day everyone 🌻

Pittcity Mon 09-Oct-23 07:59:58

Good morning from cloudy Belfast. A high of 21° forecast here today with the clouds clearing later.
We took a day trip to the Giants causeway yesterday and today will take the tourist bus around the City. Yesterday's early start meant I didn't post until late but today we had a lie in and will soon have a leisurely hotel breakfast.
Love to all 🦩 x

Beechnut Mon 09-Oct-23 08:00:42

Good morning everyone from Severnside. Overcast at the moment.
I had my covid jab yesterday and then did a small tour on my way home going past my old schools and one of the villages I grew up in.
Today I have to see about a dental appointment as I have lost a filling and crown within a few days of each other.
I’ve also some cards to make and I might mow the lawn, if not the lawn will be done tomorrow as rain is expected for the rest of the week.
Good wishes to all 🌞

Gwenisgreat Mon 09-Oct-23 08:01:47

Good morning all from dull Harrogate.
Ash hope your jag doesn’t have too much adverse effect.
Oh GrandMattie the management company seem to be making a saga out of your bathroom, have they nothing better to do?
I’m sorry you are having to stay in bed Marydoll. Rest might just be cute?
I had a lousy night last night and now have a troublesome cough. Will do a covid test when I’m up, just in case!
Have the best day possible folks
