Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Dark still and an owl is hooting along with the dawn chorus.

It's nice to be in my own bed after the weekend away. I decided against trying to travel north on Sunday because of all the dire weather and train warnings but apparently I should have screenshot my train ticket as it had vanished from view.
The buffet car could only take cash which was lucky for me but there were some frustrated travellers.

Today my DGC from the flooded north are coming to play for a couple of hours followed by the arrival of of my next Helpers. I've beds to make up and a meal to cook. Then my Gaelic evening class. hope I've factored in a nap

Good wishes to you all for a pleasant day.

Good morning all from Oslo.
grandMattie I hope lunch goes well, I know the feeling when you’re just not sure of someone.
Oops take care.

Yesterday we walked for many miles around Oslo! Thank goodness for my walking boots, it’s harder on pavements.

Lots to see and beautiful shops, sadly everything is extortionate!

We met up with our son in the afternoon and then our friends that we bumped into, they love Oslo but are missing Russia, they had to flee their jobs with the ballet there and start again, it’s been hard but they’re thankful to be safe.

I cooked a curry for us last night, I bought all my own spices that I roasted and ground at home along with some other key ingredients, my husband moaned as I was packing but thoroughly enjoyed the meal!

Today is a gentle day, going for breakfast to a rugby friend of our son, he is a French pastry chef with his own cafe here.
His rugby team are a great International bunch!

The photo is the Oslo/Kiel ferry on the fjord taken from Oscasborg Island.
The gun is one of many that helped sink the German Blucher, this gave the Royal family enough time to escape.

Good morning everyone from our last day in Turkey. We've had a great holiday, sun every day and seen some wonderful sights. So much history here.
We fly home early evening so will get back to the Essex coast very late.
I've kept up with all your news but haven't posted much.
Have a great day everyone xxx

Good morning all from a still dark but already warm North Leicestershire.

Today is our wedding anniversary. 53 years ago the weather was bright and sunny but with a brisk breeze.

Last leg of the kitchen refurbishment begins today with the decorators due any time soon.

Brilliant news, Urms.

Have the best day possible all.

Morning all, I have been awake since 4.30 am, no idea why.

Flu jab at Boots yesterday, in and out quickly. I think I will have the 8 yr old GS here today as I had to pick him up from school at lunchtime yesterday as he felt poorly.

Oops I hope your asthma improves soon, as a fellow sufferer you have my sympathy x

Should get on with the ironing sometime today 🤣

Have a good day 🦩🙋‍♀️

Good morning from a dark Cornwall. Sunny again later I suspect. Silly day yesterday. Discovered I'd been undercharged for something I bought on Saturday so I trundled into the shop to pay for the item. It seemed fair enough, bearing in mind I get a free coffee in there every week for being over 60 plus a Christmas cash gift plus 10% off anything once a month (it's a department store). Well, the lady who served me just couldn't get over it and said she'd NEVER had anyone come in and offer to pay them money. She kept telling people as they walked by. 🤣🤣🤣 (And then she accepted my £3.99.) So funny.

At lunchtime my youngest son is coming to shift my wardrobe as I'm rearranging my bookcases. I tried to do it but my knee complained.

Amazing news from Urms elsewhere. So pleased.

Good morning from down South.
Still very dark outside.
I am presuming it will turn into a nice sunny day like the last few days.

Hope everyone and their relatives sees their health improving.

I have had a visitor for a few days.
Now need to catch up on a few things.

Good morning, a misty autumnal morning here on the edge of the Cotswolds. Yesterday’s sunshine was glorious, I spent several hours outside and felt all the better for it.
Today more pottering and I will enjoy the day.
I have my jabs booked in for next Wednesday, just in time for our trip to Wales, hopefully no side effects 🤞🏻
Take care 🌹

Good morning, fog here in s somerset, until late morning

I am picking my guests up in a few hours, vegans, special meals are ready. The mushroom/fennel soup is simmering right now and a big pouffy loaf is showing itself off, like a pigeon in courting mode. I am organised, so I can enjoy their company

It is going to be full on for the rest of the week, culminating with a big craft show and me also attending a class while there

Oops, I am so sorry about you being plagued with that dreaded asthma.

GM yes, I second what cornergran said, about trusting our instincts. Utmost care about what you say, no speaking from the heart, unless you don`t mind it getting out to all and sundry, or management

Have a good day

Good morning from Shropshire.Another sunny day forecast.

Yesterday was a difficult day with my mum.

I am cautiously optimistic that the antibiotics are starting to work.I say cautiously as I thought that this time last week🙄
Oops I am so sorry you are having such a tough time.Hope the extra meds help🤞🏻

Today is a quiet day until I meet DD for our Welsh class.DH is on school pick up duty and after school club pick up.As the forecast is so good I feel I should do some laundry as it will dry on the line.

I was so pleased to read Urms wonderful news this morning.

Hoping all unwell will see improvements and thoughts with all with worries💐

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Morning Mick, morning All. Can’t see what it’s doing outside, my weather app tells me it’s misty to be followed by sunshine after a cloudy spell. We’ll see

It was both warm and sunny yesterday, we enjoyed a trip out involving Mr C and the motorway plus a walk around some animals. Collecting a rug and curtain for our living room on the way back - thank goodness both were as we’d hoped - we did little more for the rest of the day

Ironing for me this morning then a blood test (good luck to the nurse as my blood often refuses to leave me) followed by flu jabs for us both. With luck time for coffee in between encounters with needles. Grocery delivery later. A back to the mundane sort of day

Good news about the paperwork grandmattie, hope lunch works for you. Best to trust our instincts around others I always think.

Rest and more rest by the sound of it oops, I’m sorry you’re so poorly. Get well thoughts to you and others managing the frustrations of ill health.

Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

Good morning, I’ve no idea what the weather is doing even though I haven’t slept yet.
An afternoon yesterday of Nurse and Doctors appointments, extra meds as the dratted Asthma has kicked off again. Cancellations of hair and Covid appointments too.
Anyway, apparently I need to rest! I haven’t done anything for over a week. Honest.
Hope everyone has a good day, love to all the poorly grans and their families. Best wishes to those who are stressed and anxious and happy days for those with celebrations.
Hopefully we will enjoy another sunny and warm day.

Good morning from Bristol. It’s still dark and I haven’t looked out, but this supposed to be our last day of St. Luke’s little summer. (Feast day 18 October, Indian summer is N.American!)
I didn’t feel so good after posting yesterday and went back to sleep for another hour, so got completely discombobulated when I woke up at nearly 8 o’clock.
Went to Waitrose and returned to a mail from the management saying duplication of paperwork was unnecessary. The plumber was pleased, to say the least.
I spent the rest of the day finishing off my preserves, and trying to finish the “very pink” quilt.
I’m out for lunch with upstairs neighbour and her friend who, although perfect nice, make me feel wary for some reason.
The rest of the day will be quiet again as I gather my energy and finish the quilt. Must do my Spanish homework!
Glad news from Urms, best prayers and wishes for those in need. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩

Ashcombe Tue 10-Oct-23 05:56:40

Good morning from a mild, dry Torbay after a day that turned out sunny yesterday.

Yesterday, I had my fifth Covid vaccination and I’m pleased to say it was very well organised. In fact, I was back sitting in the car for the required 15 minutes before my actual appointment time! Afterwards, I picked up a few essentials in Asda and had the car washed ……. seagulls!!

Today, I’ll be at the theatre to potter with Props and catch up with the news at the Box Office, as we have another play running this week. We stage one a month in house besides having some one night outside bookings. Volunteer support is much needed to support productions back stage and front of house.

Hope everyone has a good day, especially those with worries about their health. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
