Everywhere there is bad news be it in the world or at home, in families or within our own 4 walls, its worrying, its sad, its heartbreaking and its beyond our understanding so to lift the dark, depressing and worrying feelings we have I have decided to start an uplifting πŸ˜ƒ, happy πŸ˜ƒ, joyful πŸ˜ƒ and POSITIVE πŸ˜ƒ thread......

Toooooo much negativity πŸ˜ͺ everywhere we look and causes anxiety because there is nothing we can do about some situations. We need to let happy, joy and positive feelings circulate around us, hard I know, but for our OWN sanity we must grab the tiniest bit of positivity as it passes us by.

I will start..... today I have been to see a neighbour who is in a care home and we have had a right laugh and a venture down that wonderful, peaceful Memory Lane 😊 and tomorrow I am picking my 2 youngest grandchild up from school and I have bought them a Curly Whirly each πŸ˜‹ πŸ˜‹ πŸ˜‹ πŸ˜‹ πŸ˜‹ πŸ˜‹ πŸ˜‹.

After a couple of aggressive messages from someone who took offence at a post i made, I have had a lovely upbeat chat with my volunteering 'supervisor'. I needed that.

I have been to see my friend in a care home today and we have had a right laugh, hilarious... she thanked me for going to see her, I said she didn't have to thank me for a thing, it was fabulous time spent together...

I am now home and making 2 Christmas robin tree decorations for a friend who lost her mum and dad recently.

Enjoy your day everyone..... πŸ˜ƒ πŸ˜€

My little granddaughter has just been involved in school in a question and answer session with an astronaut live from the International Space Station. Amazing!
My younger self would not have believed this could happen.

Thanks to my local garage who fixed my car for me yesterday in order that I can safely get to my sister's funeral tomorrow.
So, mixed feelings.

After DH locked himself out of his banking apps, while setting up a new tablet and forgetting all his details, I took over.
Two hours later, (after much wailing and gnashing of teeth) I got him back in, despite the fact he he had forgotten 😑 to update his phone number and all recovery codes were going to his old phone, which he no longer has.
I am delighted I haven't lost my skills! πŸ˜‰

Hope you soon back on your feet after your operation......

ginny Mon 16-Oct-23 22:21:02

Today I had a visit and hugs from my youngest daughter and Grandson.3

A friend called with flowers and a card.
Next door neighbour called with chocolates.

I felt quite an improvement of my operation bruising making things more comfortable.

My DD went away for a few days with her OH & their 9 month old.
DD was looking at fish in a stream and turned to say something to OH and he was down on the ground. She wondered what the heck happened, totally puzzled, and then he proposed - I hate to think how many poor animals & wildlife were suddenly scared out of their skins if she screamed with delight! (I haven't seen her yet for a full chat about it).
She wasn't a bit aware of his planning, and he had the ring with him, the right size, too!
She has older DC who stayed at home because of school (they said they were fine with mum & stepdad going away for a few days without them as they'd have school, anyway), and they were very happy to find out mum was now engaged!
DGD asked if she'd have to wear a dress for the wedding? Lol

A surprise call from a Gransnetter yesterday really lifted my spirits. πŸ’•

karmalady Sun 15-Oct-23 06:43:54

I decided I should give my central heating a test run yesterday. It worked, properly worked, without any tweaks. Another happy moment

I had my two back tyres looked at in a tyre garage yesterday after mot said to watch. Real honesty again, `they are fine` he said, `come back in a month and I will look again to reassure you` Honest genuine people make me happy

A few weeks ago I filled my car, eight miles from home. No purse and I was so upset, the owner said `look don`t worry, you have an honest face, go home and then come back and don`t stress` That was a huge uplift and I shared my happiness with a lot of people that day

Went to Farmers’ Market for the first tome in over 3 years. Took my 4 wheel rollator. Several kind people helped me on and off buses. Cooking lunch tomorrow for a neighbour and her daughter. A surprise late bud has appeared on my Geoffrey Hamilton rose. Enjoyed a chocolate brownie from the market.

henetha Sat 14-Oct-23 23:19:56

After a cup of coffee with my neighbour the sun was shining so I drove to a local park and managed to walk all the way around it. There were children on the swings and older children in the skate park and lots of people walking their dogs. It was just all so lovely.

ginny Sat 14-Oct-23 21:09:21

A friend came to collect me for a cup of tea and a change of scene.

kittylester Sat 14-Oct-23 18:41:05

DH is cooking. I have a glass of chilled rose and am watching Strictly.

simple pleasure, all it took was someone to tell me that I could ask alexa to play various radio stations on the bose soundbar in my living room.

Old bose radio now transferred to ktchen from living room and my very old ipad on a very old bose sound dock is now in my living room and suddenly I am able to access the hundreds of old music tracks on my ipod. All genres and types

Lovely happy sounds including those which make me feel like dancing and nostalgic for all those parties in the late 60s. Beyond uplifting today
