Good morning all from dry and cool South Lanarkshire.

DS came over yesterday, it was great to have him on his own for a couple of hours.

Today DH has an appointment at a Glasgow hospital and has to fast so I’m making coffee for one. This is also snake feeding day, DD and family are away and DH promised one of her DDs that we would look after the snake. It’s only little but I’m not enjoying the feeding, thankfully it’s only every few days.

Thinking of those with troubles to bear. Have the best possible day everyone.

Grandmachrisy47 Mon 16-Oct-23 07:54:42

Good morning from a cold, dry Co Durham.
No dgd to escort to school today but hairdressers at 9 for a colour.
Kitty, I booked my Christmas Sainsbury’s slot this morning 😀.
Have a good day everyone.

Pittcity Mon 16-Oct-23 07:53:06

Good morning from a bright but cold Colchester. 2° rising to 13 today, dry and sunny.
Usual Monday of this and that. Reading all your doings makes me feel quite lazy.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning everyone from a fine, dry Northampton 3°C outside, and forecast is for a
sunny day.
Yoga first thing this morning, then home to a day of gentle pottering; I may do some gardening this afternoon.
Was at home all day yesterday, did a load of washing and made the Christmas puddings. They are now both wrapped and in the freezer - can't leave these to mature at room temperature, they would go mouldy!
Spent the afternoon/evening watching rugby on tv; didn't think England played particularly well....and were lucky to win. The South Africa/ France match though, was a cracker!

Hope Monday is kind to us all.

Gingster Mon 16-Oct-23 07:50:02

Good morning all and it’s chilly again here in Essex.

Yesterday we had ds2 and family here , ds1 and DIL popped in for an hour, and then Dd phoned to say could we pick her up from hospital. No further forward with diagnosis but she asked to come home. Horrible ward with very poorly, ancient patients, crying , screaming, vomiting, and uncaring nurses.
It was like being in an asylum. She’ll be better off at home. Little DGD is with other nanna but I will pick her up and bring her back here to stay overnight. Will go to DD’s to see what’s needed.

Hoping you all have a gentle day. 🌻

Good morning from a chilly W Kent. Gas man back this morning to fit a new part to the boiler plus our lovely cleaner should be here so a busy morning. I shall be ironing and clearing the fridge.
Jacs7 good luck with the jury service, I was very nervous but enjoyed the experience in the end.
All the best

NanKate Mon 16-Oct-23 07:39:21

Good morning Mick and All.

I think we are due some sunshine today in South Bucks.

Grandmattie it took me a while to settle into my WI and felt wobbly at first. They now designate people to support new members in my WI. Give it a few more months to see if you can feel more part of your group.

Hope you don’t nod off Kitty.

Greyduster Mon 16-Oct-23 07:39:07

Good morning , Michael and all GNs from a very chilly South Yorkshire. A lovely sunrise this morning, and we should have a dry day. I have a sore throat and a snotty nose at the moment so no swimming for me this morning. If I feel better later I will cut the front lawn, but apart from making a batch of chilli for the freezer, that will be my lot today.
Have the best day you can folks.

RosesandLilac Mon 16-Oct-23 07:37:53

Good morning from a chilly Cotswolds hilltop.
The sunshine was lovely yesterday but the breeze really cool. My washing dried beautifully 😊
I have my Covid and flu jabs, a hair cut and a manicure this week, little else planned apart from that. We’re supposed to be going away Friday but we’ll see. Once again plans have been disrupted for various reasons 😡

RosiesMaw Mon 16-Oct-23 07:35:53

Good morning all from chilly N Bucks! Rosie is curled up beside me and I'm very glad of my furry hottie.
Lovely day with the family in London yesterday- beautiful weather too so a trip to the playpark with the little boys was inevitable and lovely having tiny hands to hold. Littlest fella (2) is fearless and follows his 4 year old big brother but being small for his age looks such a little Munchkin. SIL's parents stayed at the house as they had their elderly dog with them so he stayed to keep them company and it was rather nice to have D and the boys to myself!
Back in time for the France / RSA rugby match which was breathtaking. As indeed the All Blacks had been the night before.
A lazy morning, lunch in Bedford then Art History today will make for a nice start to the week.
With kind thoughts to you all especially those who are poorly or have worries.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 16-Oct-23 07:32:01

Morning all, off to the gym first thing then I might pop into Lakeside for some inside for Children gifts.

Have a good day folks 🦩🙋‍♀️

kittylester Mon 16-Oct-23 07:25:47

Good morning all from a very cold North Leicestershire.

DH is off to the gym and I am taking a neighbour to get his covid jab. He and his wife are now unable to drive.

I was awake at 3am this morning so took the opportunity to book my Christmas Sainsbury delivery.

For some daft reason, I have agreed to support a zoom Carer Learning course every Monday evening for 5 weeks. Hope I can stay awake.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Jacs7 Mon 16-Oct-23 07:24:45

Morning everyone from a chilly north Kent.

Am up early as I have jury service today. Never done it before and I am surprised how nervous I feel! I keep telling myself to get a grip and, a favourite expression of my mother’s, to buck my ideas up!

Setting off in a few minutes. I am not used to such an early start. Hope you all have a good day.

Grammaretto Mon 16-Oct-23 07:20:42

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is 2° but dry.
I'm on a U3A walk today in another part of the SB.
The electrician is coming this afternoon to fix the shower.

Pesky squirrels gMattie! You've reminded me I found a bag of bulbs in my knitting bag yesterday. A kind lady at the yarn group was sharing them out! I must plant them.

Have a good day everyone.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 16-Oct-23 07:03:18

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Our decorator should be here at 8 am so I should get up. Annoyingly I woke up with a migraine at 4 am so had to creep around the house getting a glass of water and a triptan!
It was lovely to see elder son and his family yesterday. They had been pumpkin picking so called in afterwards to watch the rugby. Have a good day.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 16-Oct-23 06:42:55

Good morning from a chilly South Downs. Forecast a lovely autumn sunny day, so I will sit in the conservatory and enjoy it.

Ali08 blimey! When do you sleep?
GMB my grandson gave me a fridge magnet of a cow when he was small (now 23) and it has had pride of place ever since.

Daughter came yesterday and we sat in said conservatory and talked for hours. We don’t usually see each other alone as a member of the family is always there, so it meant we could talk without interruption. What a lovely daughter I have🙂.

Day 4. Took off all the dressings yesterday. One opening is immediately under and between my bosoms, so I’m not sure that I’ll be able to wear a bra for some time. Not a good look given the size of my ample bosoms!!

Today I will potter and do a bit of light housework - can’t lift for 6 weeks so DH will be assigned any of those jobs.

Easy Bingham today - with a salad. Banana, ice cream and maple syrup.

Peace and harmony one and all.

Ashcombe Mon 16-Oct-23 06:38:33

Good morning from a breezy but dry Torbay.

A few church members have Covid at the moment. Yesterday, I read the lesson, which I regularly do. However I was slightly taken aback as, when I went up to receive communion, our priest asked me to administer the chalice. He thought, mistakenly, that I had done it before at some point in my life. Afterwards, I was told that one should be licensed by the Bishop for the task.

At home, I tackled the more mundane task of the ironing, whilst watching a lovely film about the life of Beatrix Potter followed by a rather different one about Enid Blyton. Both on C5, if you’re interested.

I am impressed with those of you busily preparing for Christmas! Baking isn’t one of my fortes so DH and I are happy to rely on “boughten” goodies, as my late dear Mum called them. She died 14 years ago last night.

What a thoughtful grandson, Grandmabatty! A family trait! Pesky squirrels, grandMattie! My eyelids begin to drop around 10.00pm, Ali08!

Hope today is the start of a good week week for you all. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Susan56 Mon 16-Oct-23 06:36:33

Ali08 Mon 16-Oct-23 06:11:09

Good morning Mick et al.
Blimmin cold here in Thanet. My blocks of ice (feet) are just not warming up, and every time I move a leg one touches the ice blocks and I quickly move them apart! I knew I should have brought a hot water bottle up with me. I'd put socks on, but I just can't stand them on very long in bed!
Just a couple of days ago I wanted the fan on because I was too warm - there's just no winning! Lol
I was up til 04:20 stitching, I get lost in it til I remember to look at the time. I have been known to be surprised at the household awakening around me, wondering why people are coming downstairs?!
I'm making (x-stitching) cards and ornaments for Christmas, in between trying to get ahead on Christmas buying for the family gifts!
I hope everyone has a lovely day, and that none of you feel as cold as my feet!! xx

cornergran Mon 16-Oct-23 06:07:55

Morning Mick, morning All from a chilly corner of Somerset. Looks like a dry day ahead.

Quiet one for us yesterday. Laundry dried, must iron today at some point. Plumber due at 8am today which doesn’t explain why I’ve been awake since 3. I predict some grumps later. Will go to a GP appointment with Mr C, not sure what else although there is dust needing removing which can wait should the sun be out after lunch.

You’re a busy soul grandmab. That fridge magnet will be loved for many a year.

With thoughts to all with personal mountains to climb. Hope Monday is kind to us all.

karmalady Mon 16-Oct-23 06:03:57

Good morning from s somerset, cool and dry today

I fiddled with dress alterations yesterday, it took the whole day but I was happy with the result, anyway it was cosy listening to the radio

Dentist checkup this morning, a 50 mile round trip, a quick mooch around the shops, buy some lunch and then home. No more appointments for the whole week after this

Time to get out the welsh blankets, I need to be toasty in bed now that the temperature is dropping. Nothing will match but who cares

Have a good day

grandMattie Mon 16-Oct-23 06:03:52

Good morning from a still dark Bristol. At least, it’s dry.
My pots full of expensive dwarf tulip bulbs are being wrecked by squirrels, I think, scrabbling around in broad daylight. I put some threads to deter them. Ha! I used to have mosquito netting somewhere, I shall have to find it, also to replace my bulbs.
I asked one of the residents over for a cuppa yesterday afternoon. Nice chinwag.
Today, I’m seeing a solicitor for probate on DH’s estate. NS&I won’t cash in his ISAs or premium bonds without one, although no other organisation required it! They keep the investment for two years, otherwise. Be warned!
WI in the afternoon. I’m not sure I shall carry on with them as this group isn’t especially welcoming.
Well done our rugby boys, though I don’t hold much hope for them against the thuggish Springboks.
Three weeks today before my bathroom is being ripped out. I can’t wait.
Special thoughts to those in need/distress. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩

Grandmabatty Mon 16-Oct-23 05:57:46

Good morning Mick and all. 4° here in Polmont and dry. Yesterday was a busy day. I finally made the Christmas cake. I also made an apple sponge pudding and roasted a chicken. I had a visit from dd and the boys then sil joined them. Within seconds the boys had created mayhem. Dgs1 was very excited to give me a present from their holiday which he had picked himself. A fridge magnet of a chicken. He was very proud of his choice. I'm not sure what it says about me!😂. Apparently he just knew I would love it. And I do, because he chose it.
At night I visited mum who was very tired and not communicating much.
Today I'm up early to restart childcare. Poor dd has to go to the office today so needs to leave early. The boys and I will go to the big park later for a run around and to feed the ducks. Then back to my house to play. Naturally I'm having chicken for dinner. Have a good day all
