Good morning everyone, it was dark and raining when I looked out earlier so I shut the shutters and brought my tea back to bed. DH having decided to get up as he’d had, “ the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a log time.” We spent Tuesday afternoon at Faro hospital where they confirmed his cancer diagnosis and and a plan for scans etc before we both learn the best way forward in a couple of weeks.

Return home have lunch and relax , my symptoms otherwise are improving but will see how long it lats .
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning from a brightening Black Country, where it rained most of yesterday and overnight.
Should be on a walk this morning, but I think it will be like a quagmire, as it is mostly through a wooded area, so I will give it a miss, and go to the gym instead.
We will be having the same tonight BlueSapphire
Wishing you all the best day possible.
Good morning Mick and everyone from a dark and very rainy Carlisle. I was awoken a time or two during the night by vicious noisy showers. It's still raining though the clouds are beginning to thin out in places.
I thought of you yesterday Ashcombe, I saw the pictures on the Beeb's website of the unfortunate man's business premises washed away, and the huge waves dashing in.
It was quite pleasant here yesterday but I didn't do anything energetic as I was tired after waking very early for me.
Today I shall tackle the ironing and after lunch there is a U3A talk I shall attend unless the weather turns really wild.
Thinking of you Marydoll, hoping things are not too bad.
Have the best possible day all in spite of any weather shenanigans!
Good morning everyone from wet Northampton, torrential rain from lunchtime yesterday, so didn't get to the well-being cafe. Spent the afternoon catching up on a pile of magazines, actually taking time to read the articles and tackle the puzzle pages.
It is only drizzling now, and I should be ok to get to dance classes after lunch. I may pop down to Sainsbury's/M&S Food afterwards, in case I can't get there tomorrow, as heavy rain is again forecast.
Sainsbury's delivery this morning; sausage, beans and baked potato for dinner tonight.
Hope everyone manages to stay dry today!
Boiler repair man is here, sucking his teeth and muttering to himself, contents of airing cupboard spread over spare bedroom (why?) and general air of mystery pervades. Possibly back later to report but hope Marydoll’s brief post doesn’t mean she is too unwell to write.
Good morning everyone from a cloudy but currently dry north Kent. A lot of rain yesterday evening and more to come according to the forecast.
My jury service continues although we were sent home early yesterday due to a technical hitch. We all scampered out like kids let out of school unexpectedly! It’s an early start as you can never depend on how long it’s going to take to get into the city; there are lots of road works and closures so it’s a bit unpredictable. Monday was chaos as there was an accident on the train crossing on a main route which damaged the barriers so there were diversions in place. A bit more frenetic than my usual calm morning reading Gransnet over a coffee!
Hope you all have a good day
Good morning from a wet but not raining W Kent. Off to art this morning although not feeling much enthusiasm at present. The film yesterday was wonderful and a great pleasure to watch Michael and Glenda acting. We followed with lunch out so a big treat all round.
Susan you have my sympathy over the prescription I was given some tablets just recently which I don’t think would have been prescribed if I had had a conversation with a Dr.
Very best wishes to all those struggling along
Good morning from dark, grey N Bucks.
A day of tidying up odds and ends for me- parcels to post, a jumper to return, just fiddling around really.
My neighbour came back last night after 6 weeks in their caravan in France going right down to the South. She sent some wonderful pics to us in her WhatsApp group. I think our temperatures and rain might be a bit if a shock to the system though.
I hear the binmen outside and feel for all who work outdoors in miserable weather.
With kind thoughts to you all for a peaceful and pleasant day. 🍁
Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s cloudy but calm at the moment but forecast stormy later.
I came home yesterday from Palma where I spent 3 fabulous days with DD1. It’s the first time since she was tiny I’ve had her all to myself. We walked miles and enjoyed the atmosphere of the city, lovely food, wine and people watching. Fabulous.
Today it’s the charity AGM. I’m presenting the money bit and fielding questions.
Thoughts to all who are having a tough time.
Good morning all from the Angus coast where it's just beginning to be light and where Storm Babet is about to make itself felt. It must have used up some of its ferocity elsewhere because the Red Warning we received yesterday has been downgraded to amber. Let's hope it stays that way!
That is shocking Susan - and what is "a physician's associate" anyway? I hope he, she or it is now looking for another job! You are being very good about it. Let's hope everything will now get sorted, but that's nearly a year gone by before the mistake was noticed.
It all seems to be happening in Corner Land! But so lovely that your DiL is home with her family in record time. I'm sure she is better off there than in hospital.
I'm not sure anyone will turn up for tai chi this morning because of the storm, but as I have to go down into town to collect a prescription anyway, I thought I would show willing and open up the hall for the hardy. The meet-up with a friend after the class is off though! The storm will inly get worse as the day goes on.
I hope everyone has a good day in spite of the weather x
Morning all from a grey S E Essex
I am off for a manicure and pedicure this morning then driving over to Gingster’s patch to my hairdresser for a cut and colour.
Picking up the 7yr old from football for his sleepover, I shall wait and see what his dinner order is 🤣
Hope all the poorly folk have a better day
🦩🙋♀️
Good morning all.
Today is a shall we shan’t we day. DH has to take the car to a garage and we may go to the cinema and to some near by shops. Will see how I feel after breakfast.
This evening we are baby sitting for a couple of hours as. DD and SIL have overlapping arrangements.
A good day wished for all.
Good morning from a rainy NE.
We did not get any strong winds or heavy rain yesterday in fact it was quite pleasant.
Nothing planned for today so will tidy round and maybe wash some towels.
SIL is improving after his bout of covid but is weak, he has been poorly ever since returning to his home in Brussels.
GD's half term starts today as tomorrow is an inset day. I will be seeing her and DS tomorrow.
Take care those under the storm path and thoughts are Aith poorly people.
Good morning from Durham. There was a bit of rain overnight and it’s windy out there, but nowhere near as bad as expected - yet. Let’s see what today and tomorrow brings.
I too am being double jabbed today - any reaction will decide what I do later, but irrespective, will walk Little Dog before dark - he’s actually called Babet, like the storm!
My dear friend would have been 69 today. I’ll drop some flowers off for her DH as I’m passing.
Ordered new conservatory furniture yesterday - not sure I’ve made the right choice, but it’s done now.
Hoping to hear on-going improvements for our poorly GNs and loved ones.
Best wishes to all.X
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s wet and windy although hopefully I think we’re going to miss the worst of storm Babet here.
Great news that your Dil is home corner, I hope she can take it easy, I’m sure your DS will look after her very well
A bit of housework and sorting out stuff this morning then later we said we’d look round a few bathroom showrooms for a few ideas as we’re redoing our en-suite soon. I’ve spent ages looking online already but now need to see things in person
That’s really upsetting Susan I’d be very wary from now on and ask for everything to be double checked. I hope lessons have been learned and the doctor can offer some reassurance to you when you speak next week
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning all from a windy Glasgow, where its 10 °C.
A quiet day yesterday and another quiet one ahead for me. Best wishes to all the poorlies.
Have a good day folks.
Good morning all and it looks dreary but not raining at the moment.
The rain started at school pickup time yesterday (it always does), and continued for most of the evening.
I’ll pick DGD up again for school and other nanna will collect and take her to Brownies.
Yesterday I walked to Mass and then on to the jewellers to see if they would repair my wedding and engagement rings. I had them cut off about 3 months ago and have had to wait until my finger recovered. I don’t think it’s going to get much better so we’ll go ahead with the repair. I’ve missed them!
I then walked up to town to the market and met my friend for coffee. She got up and paid and when I returned home, realised I hadn’t even offered to pay or even thanked her for paying. How rude am I. I quickly phoned and thanked her. 😤.
Bowls club for me this morning and Christmas card writing this afternoon. That will be one job out if the way.
Ash that poor man who has lost his beach business. He’s also lost another business too. Not fair!
Ooo WWM I fancy a Christmas whodunnit! Which one would you recommend?
Take care all 🌻
Good morning all from a wet Black country although the rain has stopped and we haven't had nearly as bad as some Ash its looks dreadful your way let's hope for a calmer day.
Well I managed an appointment for DH drs seems to think its gout tablets for 3 days then once its calmed down some blood tests for confirmation. Whilst in surgery enquired about shingles jab and have an appointment for lunchtime today.
Best wishes and virtual hugs where needed enjoy your Thursday everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
Good morning from Colchester where it's damp and mild (the heating hasn't clicked on) and the wind has dropped. Yesterday saw heavy rain and wind from late afternoon until after I was asleep. More is forecast but with a temperature of 18° today.
I have a local residents focus group this morning. Luckily it's online so no need to brave any weather.
Expecting DH home from fishing later with loads of wet stuff everywhere. Chicken curry for tea.
Love to all 🦩 x
Good morning from Shropshire.According to the weather forecast light rain and light wind.
I had my blood test yesterday morning.Four hours later the dr called to say my blood test last December had been read incorrectly by a physicians associate and the dose of one of my medications had been adjusted in error.I now have the correct dose.I feel very upset although realise I just have to get on with it but this is the second time this has happened.I hope the horrible symptoms I have had can be reversed or at least not get worse. The dr is ringing me again next week then repeat bloods in eight weeks.
I am hoping for a quiet day at home today before a busy weekend.
Stay safe everyone and have the best day you can🌺🦩
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. The power has just come back on but it seems quiet out. Heavy rain forecast but mostly further north.
It's week 2 of the school holidays so DD is run ragged and there's little I can do to help. I'm too far away to take the bairns for a few hours.
Yoga today and ceilidh dancing tonight.
Glad you are on the mend Mick and Oops
Thinking of Kalu, Urms and Marydoll and all who are poorly.
Morning from a sodden S Hampshire, rain and wind yesterday afternoon and overnight, it’s mild though.
Dentist and hygienist yesterday has left me with an ulcer on my tongue, annoying.
Couple of trips out today and milk to drop for friends returning from a month in the sun overnight tonight.
Fresh pasta for dinner.
🦩🦩
Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
OH is taking his turn at last to get up at the crack of dawn and let the decorators in! I will have a lie in until 8.30 am. The study/bedroom is looking amazingly red!
I have a hair appointment at lunchtime. Fortunately I can park nearby and it’s a less than five minute walk.
Younger son alerted me to a book of short stories by Susannah Clarke, who wrote Jonathan Strange etc., and Piranesi. It is very good - Jane Austen crossed with the Brothers Grimm.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning all from a calm North Leicestershire. The forecast looks more exciting.
We have a slightly bonkers day ahead. We have 3 grandchildren for most of the day, a Sainsbury's delivery around 5pm and then DD2 and co are coming for a meal and to use our beds before they fly off on holiday tomorrow.
Sending best wishes to everyone with sorrow and worries in their life.
Morning Mick, morning All. Think it’s dry out there after so much rain yesterday.
Our day had gone much as planned with the addition of some time with our younger granddaughter. Her Mum has had to race off to her own mother who is very poorly, looks like she will be there for some while, the distance (4-5 hours) will cause and is causing huge logistical issues
Surprising news came later in the evening. Our daughter in law had arrived home. Passing mobility and obs tests for discharge she opted to be home - immediately. Goodness. That’s five days post op not the 14 they had been told to plan for. A very determined woman. Wow. So pleased for her as she was longing for her son we’re also a bit concerned it’s too soon. Our son is home for the next ten days and will ensure rest, rest and more rest. Once Mr C’s cold has subsided we’ll arrange a short visit It will be so good to see her.
We’d just calmed down from that when Mr C found a puddle in the kitchen. The under sink stop tap was leaking. A quick empty of the cupboard - where does all that stuff come from - something was tightened, a container placed underneath to catch any drips and we went to bed. As far as I can see this morning it’s dry. Mr C will don his forensic head when he wakes to be certain otherwise another call to the plumber. We also need to try to fix our dash cam which decided not to work yesterday. Can do without more surprises this week.
Our older granddaughter has her driving test this morning. She’s pretty tense and emotional about family issues and school stressors, bound to impact her. We’ll have everything crossed. It won’t be the end of the world if she fails, just feel like it to her.
Thoughts are with everyone with personal mountains to climb Have the best day you can everyone.
