Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s eventually stopped raining and I can see some blue sky.
I didn’t do much yesterday due to the weather so I’m hoping to get outside for a while today and do a bit of gardening. I’m looking forward to our regular Sunday catch up call with DS first though
Hoping you have a better day today gMattie, ginny and anyone else not feeling their best
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good Morning Sunday 22 October 2023
(52 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and its also dry outside here in brackley this morning.
Today for me essential things to do laundry etc , my system seems to have returned to normal as to things after soemthing like 5 months or so .
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning everyone from Severnside. Dryness today so I’ll do some washing.
My attic decluttering went well yesterday. I found a very old newspaper cutting amongst some stuff and in the ads someone wanted a donkey 🤣
Beechnutella is coming today to look over the stuff to see if she wants anything. I’ll also ask her to get down from the attic an item which would have been too awkward for me alone.
I haven’t read the thread yet. Have a good day all and enjoy your roasts 💐
Good morning from a dry and bright Oxfordshire,
our usual dog sitting day today and left overs for lunch, so an easy day, if it warms up I will take dog out for a walk with MrOops.
Have a good day everyone and thoughts are with those who aren’t feeling so good.
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 5°C and cloudy. Alexa tells me there is yet another flood alert.
Yesterday was a very gentle day, apart from getting my vaccinations. Compared to previous serious side effect, I don't feel as bad.
The nurse asked if I had any pre-existing conditions or or allergies. I asked if she had all night! 🤣
I found myself feeling very nervous being out in the dark, especially as I haven't really been out in weeks. I think I may be becoming institutionalised. 😒
No plans for today, I found it is the best way, then I don't get disappointed.
Susan, I hope you are feeling an improvement after your change of meds.
Ginny and GM, wishing you a brighter day.
Our Nepalese curry takeaway was delicious, far too much for my poor appetite. DH had a feast. There is enough left for today, so no cooking required.
Have a good Sunday folks.
Good morning Mick and everyone from a chilly but clear-skied Carlisle where it should be a sunny day.
Glad to hear you feeling back to normal Mick.
Yesterday, I was out early, I had to take the car in for its service and MOT. I had 2 hours plus to wait at the garage so I had time for a good read of my newspaper and a good, 'free' coffee (probably factored into the enormous bill!). I was only a short walk away from the Tesco superstore which, though I get my online deliveries from them, I 've never visited as it's the most inconvenient store to drive to. So I visited...it's enormous, it even has a sushi bar! It still doesn't have the things I need to go to Sainsbury's for though. I just got a few fresh veggies and some new socks, which I have just crammed into my already overflowing drawer! I'm a sock-olic as well as a sweater and t-shirt-olic.
In the afternoon, I was out in the garden and really felt the warmth in the sun. I have hacked my very over-vigorous rose down to base, the hard work will be rooting it out. I feel guilty about it as it was a lovely rose but I can't be on with a very thorny plant that grows a mile a minute especially since it's on a party fence.
In the evening, I settled down to watch a new drama series on Netflix...."Bodies", I have watched 2 episodes so far, it's weird!
Today...not much physically. I've still got to face up to some serious admin so I shall be in my office all morning at least. Hopefully, I will then catch up on some reading.
Glad to hear you weren't swept away Taichinan, it's certainly been unbelievably bad up there.
And wishing you all the best possible day especially those of you who haven't been having good ones.
Good morning from a dry NE.
It was a much calmer day yesterday and we even had some afternoon sunshine.
Sister and BIL visited and we discussed restaurants, they had discovered a gastropub not too far from us that would be ideal for lunches out.
Elder sister is visiting this afternoon but it will only be for tea and biscuits.
Hope everyone has weathered the storm without damage.
Good morning all and it seems brighter today.
I sorted out a lot of my craft stuff yesterday and gave it to DIL and gd’s. They were delighted and have started on the wool supply already. I took a huge bag full of books to the charity shop. I find it very satisfying ‘getting rid’ of stuff. Dh , on the other hand, hangs on to everything. 😤. I asked him to cull some of his clothes - he gave me one pair of trousers. I wouldn’t mind but he always wears to same old things. ! 😤😤.
Today I’ll take Dd and DGD for her swimming lesson and they’ll come back for lunch. It will be the first time Dd has been out for 2 weeks. She’s picking up every germ going and the meds she’s on are causing other problems. My poor girl! 😥.
Roseand lilac enjoy your hols. It’s a beautiful place.
Hope you have a better day GM. 💐
Good luck with the hymns Ash, I’m sure you’ll be perfect. 👍
Take care all and have a ‘good’ day.🌻
Good morning from North Yorkshire. We have a lovely sunrise. Hopefully it will be a bright day. Washing is on.
Church this morning then lunch club at the village pub.
Sorry you had a down day gm. Hope today is better.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is dry and bright after yesterdays heavy showers
Yesterday went to plan, not so much to do today so I may get the chance to catch up with emails to far flung friends who fortunately are patient souls.
Hope today feels lighter grandmattie, Thinking of all finding life hard going just now. Hope Sunday is kind to us all.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4° and bright. I'm sorry that you had a sad day yesterday GrandMattie I hope today is a better day. Susan Its so difficult finding things for the grandchildren to do indoors that doesn't involve squabbles, isn't it? I hope today goes well for you.
Yesterday I had a lovely couple clean my suite and rug. They have made a fantastic job of it. It was too damp to sit on yesterday so I retired early to bed and slept well for me.
Today I have nothing planned. I'm still drying out the furniture, although it's nearly dry. I might make a lemon drizzle cake. Steak pie for dinner. Have a good day all
Good morning all from the Black country where the sun is breaking through.
Sorry you felt down yesterday grandMattie here's hoping for a better day
.
karmalady we watched dream horse yesterday evening really enjoyed it knowing it was based on true events it had a feel good feeling.
DS has asked if I will pop into Aldi and see if I can get some Lego which should be in the specials today other than that a quiet day may start another book.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
Grey and misty this morning and the lack of a functioning boiler is all too obvious. Another early start to enable the decorator to finish waxing the new doors. Harvest festival service this morning and a doze this afternoon - I am tired after a week of (excellent) workmen and last night’s concert which went well though to a small audience. I am glad I had this job done but realise that upheaval does not suit me. Have yet to arrange for the redecoration of the kitchen and sitting room ceilings following the leak but will have to wait a few weeks for things to dry out.
Sorry to hear that gMattie is feeling low; it just ambushes you when you aren’t expecting it, doesn’t it? Hope today will be better.
Good morning from a bright W Kent. Yesterday turned out to be a bit more interesting than expected as DD2 invited us to go and see her finished new kitchen, it was nice to just sit and chat for a bit. Kitchen was amazing but I am glad I don’t have to look after it.
Usual phone call to DB this morning, pork chops for lunch and a lazy afternoon.
Best wishes to all
Good morning from a better day in Harrogate. Had an enjoyable coffee at the church coffee ☕️ morning yesterday and got rid of 6 books.
Sorry you were a bit ropey yesterday grandmattie, hope today is a better day for you. Shall aim at going to church this morning and doing a bit of tidying this pm.
Have the best day possible folks
Good morning from Ceredigion where the sun’s starting to rise over Pulimon.
Yesterday’s walk was rather too far so I didn’t sleep well at all. I definitely won’t be so silly again 🙄
The weather was mixed, glorious sunshine and lots of showers, it’s lovely to sit in the warm and watch the rain coming across the bay.
Today’s weather is good so will make the most of it and perhaps venture somewhere different.
Take care everyone 🌹
Good morning from sunny Colchester. A bright dry day today. My winter coat will get an outing as we're watching DGS1 play rugby this morning.
Roast chicken later.
Love to all 🦩 x
Good morning everyone. I’ve not looked outside yet but I imagine it is dull.
grandMattie sorry you were down yesterday. Must have been the day for it as I felt the same. First day since my op that I’ve felt that way but feeling better today.
We have MIL visiting this afternoon. DH will pick her up . She and our next door neighbour will have tea and cake and MIL will also have dinner with us.
Will also try to fit in a short walk this morning.
Wishing everyone a good day with a smile along the way.
Good morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire.
Not much going on here today. Chicken and vegetable pot roast for lunch.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Still dark in South Yorkshire and chilly. Yesterday was a bit of a lost day. DS came down and then couldn’t decide until the last minute whether he wanted to go to the football match or not and if he did go, whether he wanted to stay with his cousin overnight. He did in the end, and will come back and pick his car up from here this morning before going home, but I find I can’t do with other people’s indecision these days - I have enough to cope with mine!
I am hoping to watch GS play football this afternoon and then we are going out for something to eat.
Have the best day you can folks.
Good morning from a dry South Downs. Still fairly mild though.
Yesterday I spent all day lounging around because I felt like it😄 the only thing I did of any use was to cook 2 Christmas puddings.
Today I intend to be more productive, and clean oven and fridge as well as kitchen work tops. I might do some ironing or I might not.
llf I had covid last year which left me drained for ages, but you do get better eventually. The secret I think is to go with the flow, however frustrating it is.
gm wishing you a more cheerful day.
A bit of roast lamb and chocolate mousse for supper.
Peace and harmony to all
Good morning from Shropshire.Dark and dry yesterday.
Yesterday was slightly chaotic trying to keep the children entertained indoors.Baking, den making and lots of Lego building.
We are going over to have lunch with mum at the pub in her village. Both daughters, SIL’s and DGS1 will meet us there.
Sorry you had a miserable day grandMattie.Hope today is better.
Have the best day you can everybody🌺🦩
Good morning from a dry and calm Torbay once again. A chilly one but sunshine expected following a beautiful sunset last night.
I’m sorry you were rather down yesterday, grandMattie and hope today is a better one with no side effects from your vaccination.
Good to hear you’re feeling stronger, Ladyleftfieldlover.
I’m in awe of your sewing and technical skills, karmalady.
Last night I happened to check my Junk folder and found an email from our organist asking if I’d play the piano for the 9.30 service as he has Covid. Of course, I’ve agreed but I haven’t touched my piano in months and it’s more than a year since I played at church! Luckily, the hymns are familiar and straightforward (i.e. not too many sharps or flats!!)
Every blessing. 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩
Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I’m still in bed. I managed to help OH move things back into the newly decorated study/bedroom yesterday. I did get fairly exhausted but not as bad as I might have done even a couple of days ago. Maybe my fatigue is beginning to clear. I do hope so.
Not much today. I will make a beef pie for dinner with maybe raspberry crumble for pudding. There is also an ironing pile which is depressingly huge - and that’s just my stuff. OH does his own.
I am thinking of those of you with various difficulties, especially MaryD and Urms.
Good morning from a chilly Bristol. I think it’s dry, I didn’t hear rain in the night.
My vaccination went ok, only a sore arm today, but I was miserable all day. A soggy day as I call it.
DS called me and we had a chat, he only calls about once a month. He seems to be getting ok, but doesn’t enjoy his new administrative duties. I think he’ll be looking for another position for next academic year.
To my surprise, DD telephoned too. She hasn’t done that since I move here 6 months ago. I wonder if DS had told her I’d spent the day in tears…. She was waiting forDGD1 to come out of her Taylor Swift thingy.
They’re off on holiday to Bournemouth on Sunday night. Many memories as DH and I met there some 50 years ago. I asked her to wave at the old Midland Bank, now HSBC, where I worked at the time.
Quiet day after church this morning. Prayers and blessings wending their way to you all, especially those in need, who include Urms and Marydoll. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
S Somerset is well and truly into autumn, soggy and cooler with welcome snippets of sun appearing this afternoon
Yesterday was satisfying, I made a cosy nightie and I managed to set up my old panasonic blueray dvd recorder to work in tandem with the tv. It now transmits aerial signal to tv but best of all, I can set it to record direct fron aerial, with tv switched off. I checked it twice and it is recording, even from different channels, while tv is off at the wall
I now have a film to watch later today or on another day, dream horse. I am not sewing today, everything is now tidy and set for winter sewing in my special room. I am out for an exercise walk before lunch and I need to sort a few of my freezer drawers, to make room for some scones, which I have yet to make
Have a good day
