Good morning from a brightening Colchester. The heating has bumped on and the rain is due back this evening.
My arm hurt for a week after this latest covid booster GM.
Yesterday was a lovely sunny day, which we mostly spent outside.
This and that today, which will include a walk and laundry.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good Morning Monday 23rd October 2023
(84 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
At the moment its dark but its dry here in brackley , I feel sorry for those living in the North Midlands ,and further in Scotland trying to recover from being flooded .
Today , usual trip into Bicester on the bus ,small shop then home .
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning from dry Harrogate- I do feel so sorry for those affected by the floods. You seem to have a good friend upstairs GrandMattie.
This morning DH has to phone the doctor, he has managed to get 2 appointments with Drs. The first a telephone 📞 appointment at 11.15 when he should be leaving for a face to face appointment which he needs!!
While I have my telephone call to my friend in Ayrshire. If I have time, I reckon it’s time to put my summer clothes away and bring the winter jumpers out!
Have the best day possible folks
Good morning from a frosty NE.
Yesterday was a much calmer day with a fair bit of sunshine.
My sister came during the afternoon and she showed me photos of her river cruise in France.
Simple meal of pasta with mushroom sauce and a salad with a glass of rose wine.
Nothing urgent today so will tidy round and maybe read my book.
Good morning from North Yorkshire. Another bright day in prospect.
Happy anniversary NanKate.
Strollers and striders at Masham this morning. A walk through the wetlands where there are good paths.
Home to some ironing before taking a friend to hospital for her radiotherapy. She has to go every day for 3 weeks and it’s a 70 mile round trip. I’m driving her to four appointments to help out a bit.
Wishing you all a good day.
Morning from South Lanarkshire, cold but calm. Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs*NanKate*, enjoy your day.
Hope things improve Marydoll, you’ve been having a poor time of it.
I’ve got the chiropodist at 9.30 then a trip to Hobbycraft in the Fort shopping centre on the outskirts of Glasgow. Only my beloved DGD would make me tackle this, I hate the M8 and am managing to go because I’ve found a back roads route. I may be gone some time😂
baubles your day sounds quite elegant!
Wishing everyone the best of days.
Good morning and it’s bright but chilly here in Essex.
Condensation on the windows.
Yesterday was sunny and quite warm. Little DGD and Dd came for lunch after her swimming lesson and both enjoyed their meal. First proper meal Dd has had after being poorly and she has lost about a stone in weight.
DGD carved her pumpkin (all by herself) and it looked satisfactorily creepy when we put the nightlight inside. She’s very particular so we were all relieved it turned out well 😤.
This morning I’ll walk the dog and then thoroughly clean the windows in the conservatory. A big job so ill - -make- - ask Dh for a bit of help 😅.
This afternoon we have Music and Memories, a U3A group which is great fun. It’s only once a month and my friend and her husband run it. She is a larger than life character and it’s very popular. Her lovely Dh does the music and is a quiet, smiley chap. A lovely combination.
Take care all and I love GM’s sign off - ‘don’t forget that random act of kindness today’ ❤️
My strike through word never works! 😥
Morning all.
DD and youngest GC had an unexpected sleepover here last night, so it’s all go this morning.
Hopefully I will get to the gym this morning, I am expecting a parcel from John Lewis (yes, I have started Christmas shopping 🎄) this afternoon.
Happy Anniversary NanKate 🥂
Marydoll and other poorly folks I hope you have a better day 😘
Have a good one folks 🦩🙋♀️
Morning from dry, grey S Hampshire. Happy Anniversary NanKate 🥂.
Yesterday we pottered about and I had a pleasant walk listening to Gardeners Question Time, we won a prize in the our local pub’s meat draw.
Volunteer phone day, library and quiz tonight.
🦩🦩
Good Morning Mick and everyone from a bright and calm Carlisle. The expected frost didn't materialise, it clouded over a little overnight.
Much of yesterday seemed to be spent at the computer with pages and pages of form filling. I gave up in the afternoon and lounged about with my tablet. After dinner, I watched another 2 episodes of the increasingly weird 'Bodies" on the TV.
Today, housework and laundry this morning, and a trip into town after lunch. A routine blood test is required and then I may have a little mooch around for the elusive pair of smart black trousers.
Happy anniversary to you NanKates.
And I hope you feel better as the day goes on Marydoll.
Hope the side effects of your jabs don’t last, Marydoll.
Happy anniversary the NanKates
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Foggy in South Yorkshire this morning. I slept badly last night - awake at quarter to two, finally fell asleep again around half five! Yesterday the weather was warm and sunny so I went and watched GS play football then later we went out for something to eat. This morning I have a dental check up. Hope that’s all that’s needed! The rest of the day will be spent indoors unless the weather changes.
Happy anniversary to the NanKates!🥂💐
Have the best day you can folks.
Good morning from our Hotel in Birmingham where it is fairly bright with clouds.
Fantastic evening at Symphony Hall seeing The Waterboys. Great musicians and lively performance.
Off down to breakfast shortly, then catch the Metro and train home.
Happy anniversary Mrs&MrsNanKate enjoy your day
Marydol

Happy Anniversary to the NanKates*
Good morning all - sunshine again but nippy!
Happy Anniversary Nan and Mr Kate - have a lovely lunch!
I am zonked this morning after yesterdays driving- but it was WORTH every mile of the 250 mile round trip to see D, SIL and DGS.
It was an easy drive over to Norfolk, it’s a fair distance, but with quiet roads and The Archers and The Food Programme not unpleasant, until just the other side of Bungay my phone (Google maps) completely lost its internet connection. That was precisely where I started needing it too -looking for an unknown country pub down equally unknown country lanes… After overshooting the village at least twice, a helpful young mum out for a walk with her little boy directed me down the right country lane only to find it impassable due to floods! And the pub had put up a sign by the edge of the (pond?) track too saying they were closed due to flooding . I managed to reverse back up the track to a road and find somewhere to pull in and ring D who was still on her way. 1.30 is not the best time to find a Sunday lunch at short notice but she found somewhere in Beccles for 2 pm but of course could not send me any directions. More people seem to go out for Sunday lunch than we ever did as it was heaving when I eventually found them!
Gorgeous meal and altogether lovely.
My journey home was less eventful but much of it directly into the sun 😎😎😎😎 so I was glad when it finally set 🌅 and I knew the rest of the way well enough not to be bothered by driving in the dark.
Doing absolutely nowt today and planning to enjoy it.
With kind thoughts to all in pain, ill or with worries 💐💐
Good morning from Durham. A cold start with a cloudy day to follow.
Coffee with a friend first thing, then I’ll finish DD2s ironing and pack everything up to take back to her. I’m stopping off at Metro Centre on the way for a bit of retail therapy, then as I drop off her stuff, I’m bringing Little Dog back with me, for one sleep only. I feel as if he’s always here and my activities have to be tailored around him, but needs must.
Had the heating on for 2 hours on Saturday - on my new contract, the charge was surprisingly high - pleased I’ve a decent credit to chip away at.
DGS1 has his first wobbly tooth - I await developments there.
Hope birthday and anniversary celebrations are enjoyed and those travelling arrive safely.
Commiserations to our poorly GNs - hoping things improve.
Best wishes to all. X
Am chasing the heating engineer to know when, if ever, my boiler is going to be fixed but he is depressingly not available. I am so tired of all this and being cold is not good for me!
Book group this afternoon provided that the boiler fix is not going to be then, but otherwise a sorting out sort of day. The smart new doors have encouraged me to raise my game and see if I can’t empty some cupboards as I have too many clothes, shoes and bags which I will not need again and some space would be welcome.
Hope all those unwell have a better day.
Good morning Mick and all from the Angus coast where it's another lovely day. Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous - not a cloud in the sky the entire day. I sat all afternoon in the front sun room with the outside door open as it was too hot. What a contrast to the three days of Babet!
Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs Nankate - enjoy your meal.
Gingster, don't put a space between your two hyphens and that will do it!
Sorry you're so unwell Marydoll - I hope you feel better as the day goes on.
I'm meeting up with DGD3 for a meal after her last uni class this afternoon - her suggestion. We're going to a little place in Broughty Ferry that I've had recommended to me - 4.30 is an awkward time to find anywhere serving. It'll be lovely to have her to myself for a while. She will be 18 in a couple of weeks so there will be much talk of celebrations I'm sure.
A quiet day until then is planned soaking up some more vit D.
Enjoy your days everyone x
Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I overslept! I was up in the night two or three times and the next thing I knew it was 8.30 am. I will attempt the weekly shop today. Our gardener is coming after lunch. She said she would work on the front garden. We need to talk to her about some new shrubs.
Have a good day especially those with difficulties. 🌹
Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
CT scan yesterday, hospital very quiet and picked up a salmon mousse salad which I had last night and was surprisingly good.
Very bad night and due out soon for coffee with friends but feeling shattered. Also a folk club meeting this afternoon which I may miss.
Happy anniversary to the Nankates and thoughts to all with worries 🌺
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lancashire, currently 9°C. It was foggy first thing and there are lots of fluffy white clouds about, but the sun is out right now.
After a slothful weekend I’m feeling quite motivated today. Morning exercises are done. I need to put the weekend’s laundry away, give the AirRam a little tlc clearing the brushes etc., then do a little vacuuming. I will be going out for a walk this afternoon, after which I will probably need a nap 💤
Happy Anniversary to you both NanKate, enjoy your celebration lunch.
Sorry the jabs are making you feel so rough Marydoll, hope it wears off soon.
What an eventful journey RosiesMaw, glad the lunch went off OK in the end. Hope today is much easier!
Gingster I can never get the overstrike to work either, I’ll try your tip later Taichinan.
Hope you have a better day Hollysteers.
As always my thoughts are with those dealing with troubles, may today bring some comfort.
Have a good day all 🦩
Good morning, Hope its a good ,safe week for every one. Off into town, will be buying some gloves as it would be good to have a matching pair!
