Good morning from a still dark and mild Black Country. No idea of the weather as I haven't looked out yet.

Two hours chatting to my ex work colleague, then to Mums. She had left her door unlocked as she knew I was coming (I keep telling her not to do this as I have a key). She was fast asleep with the TV blaring loudly! Anyone could have walked in! Lunch out, she had her usual Fish n Chips, I had salad smile

Thursday walk this morning, then we are going to Birmingham tonight to see 'Fascinating Aida'. Saw them about 10 years ago, very funny.

I hope the family situation is sorted soon Cornergran

Thinking of Urms Kalu Mary and anyone struggling with health worries

Good morning everyone from Cambridge where it’s grey and cloudy
A good result gMattie well done
Oh marydoll I do feel for you, hoping things can improve a bit soon with the change in meds
I arrived safely yesterday before lunchtime after a good journey, it’s lovely to see everyone and catch up on all their news. DD and Sil are both working so I’d planned a day out today with the DGSs but last night the youngest wasn’t so well with a sickness bug so plans have changed and we’re having a lazy day at home instead - which suits me fine. Just hope I don’t get it too 😳
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, especially our dear Urms, take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a damp, dark Colchester. 14° today.
Had a lovely day of baby cuddles and 8 year old's boundless energy yesterday.
Laundry and housework today.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from a wet W Kent. Another day doing little hopefully this ug will start to calm down now, I will test to see if it is Covid. DGD1 has gone down with Covid days before her mum is due to find out about her further cancer treatment so all our fingers are crossed. Chatted to DS and I can hear how very worried he is.
Glad you got a good result gM.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 26-Oct-23 07:50:35

Morning all, it’s grey here in S E Essex.

We are going to an indoor crazy golf place with the 8 yr old this morning, should be fun and probably competitive 🤣

(((Hugs))) to those in need

Have a good day folks 🦩🙋‍♀️

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where its rained heavily in the night. I’m up early drinking my tea in bed as I have an appointment at the hairdresser’s just after 9am. Bit too early for my liking but she has kindly squished me in for a cut & blow. She will be away on her holidays from tomorrow so beggars can’t be choosers.

Here’s Matt.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is currently 7°C.
I have been awake for hours coughing and gave up trying to get back to sleep and went downstairs and made a cuppa. I couldn't wait for DH to make one. 😉

Thank you GM. I was quite tearful with relief when I got the unexpected phone call from the surgery, saying that the lovely lady GP had heard from my rheumatologist. It was only a week since she contacted my consultant and she succeeded in doing, what everyone else failed to do.
The consultant agrees the biologics may be the problem and advised that I have to miss my next injection, wait for a couple of weeks and see if the symptoms reduce.
I cannot decide what is worse, the cluster headaches or the vertigo and nausea, it has seriously impacted on my quality of life.
The downside is that it can take six months for this toxic medication to leave my system, before anything new can be tried. Unfortunately, hey were actually helping to dampen down my high pain levels. 😔
However, we are running out of options and I am not the easiest of patients to treat.

On the plus side, we are unexpectedly picking up Dollie from school today and taking her to her swimming lesson, where we will meet mummy, who will be late home from work.
Then to top it all, we are off to DS2's to feed Babydoll and have dinner. My son, who was the most undomesticated person I know, is cooking!!!
My cup runneth over.
I do hope I feel well enough to go, the vertigo episodes hit without warning.

Oops, I am sorry you still need those damned steroids. When my children were small, I was on them in injection form for years, they played havoc with my system and mental wellbeing. I can empathise with you.
That lack of sleep and racing brain is horrendous. I hope things improve soon. 💐

Sounds like things are looking up for you, GM, you must be battle weary.
Ash, I need another crown too, but it is on hold, due to the risk of infection. I'm still weighing up the pros and cons.

Scalpal, I was smiling when I read your post yesterday. There are a good few Scottish members on GN, who are retired teachers. I wonder what draws us to it!

I'm about to work my charm on DH. I need quite a few things from B&M, but am still not feeling up to driving, so I need a chauffeur and pack horse. He hates going there! 😁

I have lost track of the holidays and busyness, so I will wish you all the best of days and a virtual hand hold to all who need one.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It is just getting light. Rain today.
I set off for the dentist to encounter a huge (by local standards) traffic jam at the end of the village lane. I moved about half a mile in 20 minutes so rang the dentist to explain only to find out the appointment is today! The traffic was caused by a removal van on the road through the next village.
I still went to town and enjoyed a good browse and bought 2 jumpers and some new shoes.
Dentist today!
Mary and Urms 💐
Have a good day everyone.

Gingster Thu 26-Oct-23 07:40:29

Good morning all and it’s dark and wet here in Essex.
DS1 parked his car on our drive at 5 am but I didn’t hear him and the dog didn’t bark. He’s off to Frankfurt for a business trip.

Today little pooch is being groomed and I have bowls club.
DD is off to hospital AGAIN for a scan on her pancreas . Does it never end. 😥. I might get a call to take her. She’s really poorly and it’s a great worry.

Urms take each day as it comes. 💐
Ash I love The Donkey but it makes me cry. 😥
Oops have a lovely lunch with your gd. It will be worth the journey and she’ll be so pleased to see you ❤️.

Take care all 🌻

Grandmabatty Thu 26-Oct-23 07:27:12

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° and wet. Beechnut I copied you and brought my first cup of coffee back to bed! Ash I'm glad the dentist visit went well, apart from the cost. GrandMattie I'm glad your meeting went well too. Susan I hope you feel better soon.
Yesterday was a quieter day. I went to the library in the morning and exchanged books. I hoovered and washed floors and generally tidied up. Then I read one of the books in the afternoon. Later dd came round to borrow my KitchenAid. She's making a birthday cake for her mother in law.
Today I will pick up dd at the garage and drive her home while her car goes for an MOT. Then I'll drive over to Stirling for the last art class before Christmas. Tonight I'll visit mum. So a busier day than yesterday. Have a good day all

Morning Mick, morning All from a dark and damp looking corner of Somerset.

Disappointed to see rain on the window as we’re off along two motorways to retrieve our granddaughter from her Dad’s who must be at work today. As a complex family situation has kept and is keeping her Mum away from home for two weeks a moment of optimism saw us volunteering transport.

Yesterday was full of distressed and distressing phone calls. Hopefully today will at least feel lighter if not quieter as our granddaughter never stops talking smile.

Good luck oops. What a relief grandmattie. Not long for the bathroom either. I’m

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning everyone from a very wet Northampton, but it is supposed to clear up by lunchtime, and then sunny spells. Yesterday's washing dried beautifully on the line outside.

Went to book club by bus yesterday as the friend I normally go with cried off at the last minute, as she was feeling unwell. Couldn't be helped I suppose, but a bit more notice would have been better (she had emailed our hostess first thing in the morning whereas I didn't find out till after lunch....).
However, it was a good meeting, complete with a fresh cream sponge! And another member gave me a lift home.

No dance classes today, it being half-term, so dance friends and I are going out for coffee and cake instead.
A Sainsbury's delivery this afternoon, which hopefully will have the wherewithal for making mince pies in it, as that is my plan for Sunday. I have promised.to take some to book club next month.

Hoping a good day is ahead for all.

Good morning from Shropshire.Showers forecast for today.

Yesterday was a productive day at home.A lot ticked of the to do list including writing a letter to a friend who has had some devastating news.DH dug up the rest of the carrots to freeze and also the beetroot which he boiled and will put in jars today.

I still don’t feel 100% so a quiet morning planned then I will meet DD at the autumn fayre in their village then we will collect the children from school and I will bring H back for a sleepover.

I am so pleased there was a good result to the meetings grandMattie and glad the dental visit went ok Ash.

Thoughts to all with illness and worries.

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 26-Oct-23 06:53:24

Morning all from a still dark West Oxfordshire. It is Book Group today and we meet in the village cafe at lunchtime. It is a short walk so I will go! One of our number has just had a book published (she is a proper published author of several books, fiction and non-fiction) so there will be cake! I have cancelled my usual Thursday evening activities. My energy levels in the evening are practically nil.
Have a good day, especially those with difficulties and concerns.

karmalady Thu 26-Oct-23 06:30:14

Good morning from s somerset, nice this morning and then thunder and lightening after lunch

I am glad that the dentist visit was fine Ash and that GM and the residents had a good result

The only thing I have planned for today is to make croissants, a zen process.I did gather a few good things together yesterday, to hand over to DDs. It is definitely a change of pace for me during such a wet autumn.

Have a good day

Nannagarra Thu 26-Oct-23 06:24:32

I hope you feel better soon Oops. x

Good morning from Sefton where it is raining.
A busy day for the family at a theme park/having DGdog1 spayed/putting the world to rights with friends whereas mini dog and I will do nothing more than curl up together on the sofa.
You’re doing well, grandMattie. My thoughts go to Urms, Kalu, corner and all others facing problems and worries.
🌷

Beechnut Thu 26-Oct-23 06:18:46

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. Drizzle here. I’m doing something I haven’t done in a while, made a cuppa and brought it back to bed where I will stay until it gets light.

Lovely patchwork as always Mattie. My favourite is the one on the left.
I had a good day crafting yesterday making a wreath and a mess. My friend came by and wanted to know all about it.

I’m off to do my weekly shop and not sure where to go or even if I can get out of town with the extra traffic lights in place.

Have the best day you can all and look after yourselves and each other 💐

Ashcombe Thu 26-Oct-23 06:10:59

Good morning from a clear and fine Torbay where 🌤 is expected!

My dental visit for two layered fillings was fine with the only pain being to my bank balance! I have two more visits in November to have a crown fitted, plus one to the hygienist. A deep clean couldn’t be undertaken until 12 months after my heart surgery because of the risk of infection, according to their rules.

A quick lunch then to Wednesday Club to host a session on favourite poems. I was delighted to find all 15 attendees made a contribution, from Shakespeare to Walter de la Mare with a couple of renditions of poems written by individuals themselves. I chose The Donkey by GK Chesterton, which I’ve known by heart for many years.

A more relaxing day today with an overdue visit to the hairdresser's for a cut and colour.

Beautiful work as always, grandMattie and what a relief regarding the warden!

Thought with all facing difficulties especially Marydoll and Urmstongran.

A good day is wished to all. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 26-Oct-23 06:10:10

Good morning, not sure about the weather yet but yesterday was sunny but with a chilly wind.
Another course of Steroids gave me a night of only 2 hours sleep, I will probably sleep all the way to Bristol where we are meeting our GD for lunch, she is a bit homesick at the moment and I’m determined to go, I won’t be driving though, it’s a long way to go just for lunch but as she is working and at University she doesn’t have the time or money to get a train to us, although it would be easier from our point of view.

I hope everyone has a good day and looks after themselves as they do others, best wishes to all the poorlies.

grandMattie Thu 26-Oct-23 06:02:21

Good morning from Bristol. I haven’t looked out but it is fairly mild, and we are promised a dry day.
Marydoll, I hope stopping the biologicals will help you. Urms, I trust that although you anxiety levels are through the roof, you are looking after yourself. You need to be well to care for everyone.
Our meeting went well and the chairman was mostly effective. The letter we had been sent gave the impression that no new resident manager was a done deal. In fact, it was very badly worded, and we were actually offered a choice. Someone said that we were worrying too much; my friend and I, who had organised the early pre-meeting replied that it was better to be prepared.
Whatever happens (and we voted to keep a warden), the service charge is going up by about £20 pm, mostly due to high increases in building insurance. On the whole a good result; much relief all round.
I finished the little bags for the church charity craft sale and did more sewing.
My plumber dropped off my new loo, cistern and shower. The two former are in a hallway, as I have no space! My neighbours have been warned. Only 12 days!
I hope today is serene. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩

Kalu Thu 26-Oct-23 06:01:48

Good morning all from Glasgow. Cloudy at the moment with rain forecast later.

Bed change day and a PO visit to send to DD2 in Brisbane.
I bought a bag of paper white bulbs yesterday and will pot up half of the bag today with a double flower white amaryllis.

Have the best day you can all.
