Good morning from Colchester where the rain has stopped for a bit. It'll be back later. 15° high.
The heating has been coming on first and last thing with the nest in the living room set at 20.
I have only just woken as DS came home at 5am unexpectedly and scared the whatnot out of me. He will sleep for most of the weekend and get fed and his laundry done. His home visits are not out of love for us 🤣.
Love to all 🦩 x

(63 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry outside at the moment in brackley .
I have been in contact with my surgery plus team at Churchill something is not quite right , loosing weight rapidly getting towards skin and bone.
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning all from a misty Black country rain overnight again.
Mick good to hear your seeking advice let's hope they can find some answers.
No plans as yet but DH needs to take fishing trophies into jewellery quarter for engraving so possibly we may do that.
Enjoy your Friday everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
Good morning from Durham - wet again here. Will it ever stop! Can hardly believe this is the last weekend in October, etc - hasn’t this year flown by?
DD1 is all packed ready for their flight to Turkey later, she seems to have caught DGS1’s cold, I hope a bit of sun and heat helps.
DD2 and family are coming this afternoon, as we’re hoping to get some pumpkins - wellies needed! SinL will help me with some conservatory furniture before they leave.
First, a quick coffee with a friend before she flies to Kos, with her grandchildren tomorrow.
I can only echo other GNs Mick in that it’s good to seek advice. I’m sure you’ll keep us informed - we do care.
Best wishes to all. X
jax, I could and do order online but the textures, thickness and colour are often difficult to judge. Also, I need to be brave occasionally!
Good morning all and it’s very still out there . No breeze at all.
Yesterday DD’s scan was cancelled until next week. Not sure why !
I shopped for her and brought little DGD back home with me.
We made pumpkin shaped cup cakes and played games. She had an afternoon of fits of the giggles, mainly at Gaga (grandad) . Her big sister facetimed her from southampton and they played a game . Technology can be good !
Corner you certainly did your random acts if kindness yesterday.❤️.
Today we have our financial adviser coming round to discuss stuff. 😵💫.
Hopefully we’ll see our Friday friends at the pub and try to lighten our loads. Everyone seems to be troubled with something.
Take care 🌻
I can associate with that gMattie
Good morning from a dull and damp Black Country.
Evening out last night to see Fascinating Aida at Birmingham Town Hall. 40th Anniversary Tour! Their routine 'Cheap Flights' raised a cheer as their Greatest Hit! Home on train by 11.15 hence didn't wake up this morning until 8.30!
Today is sorting out bedding to take to caravan in Somerset tomorrow, and bring down some winter clothing and store away summer clothes. Hopefully take down the Gazebo for the winter. I feel discombobulated waking so late!
Hope the medical team can get to the bottom of your concerns Mick
gM have you considered joining u3a? Lots of interest groups there.
Wishing you all the best day possible
Good morning.
DH has gone to golf so I’ll potter around this morning.
Being picked up later to go to lunch with a couple of friends.
Wishing a good day for all.
Good morning from Shropshire.Dry at the moment.
Mick I really hope the medical team are in touch soon and can give you help and advice.
Yesterday was blooming awful🤪We were expecting the heating engineer to set up and explain the new heating system. That all went well. However we woke up to a leak under the kitchen sink and another from the bathroom sink so had to call Homeserve. In the middle of all this the dr phoned and threw me another curveball which is a result of the wrong medication.Another prescription, a trip to the drs, more tests and more bloods in eight weeks. For the first time we cancelled looking after H😢I felt so bad😢We look after him one night a week so the rest of the family get a decent nights sleep.
Today is just a trip to the supermarket.
Well done on the driving corner💪🏼
So pleased you had such a lovely afternoon Mary.I sorted out the medicine cupboard yesterday after realising my cough medicine had no taste. It was 18 months out of date.
Glad to hear your sister’s operation went ahead and wish her a speedy recovery Whitewave.
Thoughts to all unwell and thinking of all with worries.Hope your DD’s scan goes ahead next week Gingster🙏🏻and hope the little one is feeling better Brook.
Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩
Oh Susan 💐
For those who have never heard of Cheap Flights.

Good morning Mick and everyone from currently dry and sunny Carlisle but it's rather cool at 7°.
Mick, that must be rather worrying for you, I hope you are seen to promptly.
I thought I'd be like a zombie yesterday after a max of only 3 hours sleep but after I'd had breakfast, I was a new woman!
Not that I subsequently did anything energetic, after finishing off a small amount of ironing, my other tasks were sitting down ones.
One was wrestling with trying to make an international payment. After a few failures, I phoned my bank in frustration. We discussed the problem. The answer was simple...a 6 figure code I'd been provided with by the payee was split by a hyphen. I lost the hyphen and success! According to my man, it depends on the computer and software you're using.
Today, some gentle cleaning and a trip to the hospital this afternoon to have ECG equipment fitted. I had this done privately back in August in order for my insurance company to clear me for going on holiday but my GP wanted me to take up this long awaited NHS one as a further check. I don't think there's a problem. The only problem will be trying to park at the hospital.
Have the best possible day everyone.
Good morning all from misty moisty N Bucks.
For reasons I don’t understand I was still awake at 2 . I haven’t taken any kind of sleeping aid since Paw died except I’ve often found a Piriton (the “regular” sort) makes me drowsy so I took one of those and woke up at 8.30!
Feeling a bit discombobulated I am hoping a mug of hot tea will get my marbles back in place.
Kind thoughts to all in need, in pain or in distress. 💐💐
Susan 💐 What a horrible day for you. I hope today is better
Thank you Mary and Grandmabatty.x
Embarked on our cruise to the Canaries on Tuesday evening. Wow, Wednesday in the Bay of Biscay and yesterday down the coast of Portugal were very stormy with waves 16 feet high and gale force 8 according to the Captain. Restaurants were half empty with many passengers affected by sea sickness. Fortunately we weren’t affected. We have met several people who had been on our previous Saga cruise last year. Tomorrow we will reach Funchal. Very tired after 3 nights being bufeted around and a snoring husband.
Hope you all have a good day.
Good morning everyone from a grey and slightly misty Northampton, 4°outside according to Alexa. Speaking of which I went onto Amazon to buy another one yesterday to use in the kitchen; to my horror the price had leapt up from £22 to £52 in only 10 days, so I didn't bother. Same model, same colour, brand new & daylight robbery! Will keep an eye on the page to see if the price goes down.
Had a lovely morning yesterday with dance class friends at our favourite coffee shop, chatting while partaking of enormous cherry scones. We then looked round their charity shop, and I came out with three books from the Cazalet Chronicles series, which had been recommended at book club in Wednesday. Then we wandered around the garden centre and again I came out with something - a large bag of wallflowers which I planted in my front door pots as soon as I got home.
Was too stuffed for lunch! Spent the afternoon getting stuck into a Kate Atkinson book for next month's book club. And also ordered January's book, Demon Copperhead.
Will have a mooch around our little shopping centre later, one or two things I need in M&S Food and Sainsbury's.
Chicken curry for dinner tonight, while watching rugby world cup.
Hope you get sorted Mick, you are wise to seek advice.
Morning from a very damp South Lanarkshire. A good sleep but a slow start this morning. I have a window man coming this morning to give me a quote for replacements, having ‘thought about it’ all summer when the weather was better!
This afternoon coffee with a friend whose husband died totally unexpectedly a few months ago. She lives on a small holding which will be difficult to manage on her own but she needs time to think and come to terms with what has happened.
I am slightly down this morning because I had quite an important scan seven weeks ago and since I hadn’t had any results had begun to feel I would have heard if there was a problem. However, under family pressure I phoned the hospital yesterday to discover that it hasn’t been looked at yet because of shortage of staff. Probably two more weeks. That will be five months since a problem was identified. 🤞
Hope you get some help soon Mick, and wishing all a good day.
Roll on AI checking scans! Could be quicker and they won't get sick or need a holiday.
Loved listening to cheap flights thank you Mary. It's raining again here and it's misty. Shopping today then a bit of housework .
Have a good day all.
Good morning from the north of Scotland. The autumn colours are quite beautiful and there are lots of small birds eating the berries on the rowan trees.
I am already wearing heavy winter clothes as I seem to feel the cold more since having Covid.
Mick hoping that the doctor gets back to you quickly.
Should I wash the windows or ask a friend round for coffee😉
Good morning all from another day of wind and rain on the Angus coast. It feels as if it's going to be a looooong winter!
Almost a full turnout at tai chi yesterday, which was good. At the end of the class a friend popped in to say let's go for a coffee catch-up and that was lovely too. Follow that with a visit to my fishmonger, and my day was made!! Little bits of brightness in the gloom.
Sorry to hear your health is taking a dip Mick, but so glad you're contacting your medics for help and advice.
Thoughts with all of you going through difficult times at the moment too and hopes that the various treatments do the trick. Your best medicine would appear to be Dolly and Babydoll, Marydoll 😁. Frequent repeat prescriptions are recommended!
Another one here who can go days in end without seeing anyone to chat to, but it's something you get used to and I quite enjoy my solitude. The up side of that is how very much I enjoy my times and contacts with others by contrast! Wasn't there an old song - 'Look for the silver lining'? Very philosophical for this time in the morning - time I was getting on!
Have a good (chatty) day everyone and
and a hug to those who need them x
Goodness glammagran - you'll be glad to leave the stormy seas behind!
Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Lancashire, currently 9°C, no sign of rain at the moment. Sorry things are not going so well Mick. I hope they can put you on the right path.
Yesterday was mostly housework, which I do very slowly with lots of sitting down. No plans for today other than a walk later, weather permitting. We have some potatoes from the local farm shop so will have baked potatoes tonight, a proper late Autumn supper and so easy to do.
Thinking of those of us dealing with troubles, may today bring some comfort.
Have a good day all 🦩🦩🦩
Good morning from a rather foggy Co Armagh, the sun is trying to break through
Another morning of trying to sort my crochet , I should be at Art class , but it’s half term
I’ll mooch round the garden after the fog clears
Thinking of so many of our friends on here and in the village ill and just fed up , candles 🕯️ and prayers
Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Sister here and yesterday we had a nice shopping trip, I bought white trousers reduced and a sexy red bra. Also a sweet little mouse for C…tree, but it’s not necessarily seasonal. We meant to go out for a meal in the evening but had a takeaway as tired.
My sister helped me figure out my complicated ‘smart’ tv.
Tonight we meet up with a couple of old friends for drinks.
I had a nightmare, I was friendly with a Jewish family, hammas found out and I was about to be stabbed when I woke up with a start. The penalty for watching the news after a long period.
Sorry you are still having health problems Mick and thoughts to all with troubles 🌺
