Good morning all from misty moisty N Bucks.
For reasons I don’t understand I was still awake at 2 . I haven’t taken any kind of sleeping aid since Paw died except I’ve often found a Piriton (the “regular” sort) makes me drowsy so I took one of those and woke up at 8.30!
Feeling a bit discombobulated I am hoping a mug of hot tea will get my marbles back in place.
Kind thoughts to all in need, in pain or in distress. 💐💐

Good morning Mick and everyone from currently dry and sunny Carlisle but it's rather cool at 7°.
Mick, that must be rather worrying for you, I hope you are seen to promptly.

I thought I'd be like a zombie yesterday after a max of only 3 hours sleep but after I'd had breakfast, I was a new woman!
Not that I subsequently did anything energetic, after finishing off a small amount of ironing, my other tasks were sitting down ones.
One was wrestling with trying to make an international payment. After a few failures, I phoned my bank in frustration. We discussed the problem. The answer was simple...a 6 figure code I'd been provided with by the payee was split by a hyphen. I lost the hyphen and success! According to my man, it depends on the computer and software you're using.
Today, some gentle cleaning and a trip to the hospital this afternoon to have ECG equipment fitted. I had this done privately back in August in order for my insurance company to clear me for going on holiday but my GP wanted me to take up this long awaited NHS one as a further check. I don't think there's a problem. The only problem will be trying to park at the hospital.

Have the best possible day everyone.

Good morning from Shropshire.Dry at the moment.

Mick I really hope the medical team are in touch soon and can give you help and advice.

Yesterday was blooming awful🤪We were expecting the heating engineer to set up and explain the new heating system. That all went well. However we woke up to a leak under the kitchen sink and another from the bathroom sink so had to call Homeserve. In the middle of all this the dr phoned and threw me another curveball which is a result of the wrong medication.Another prescription, a trip to the drs, more tests and more bloods in eight weeks. For the first time we cancelled looking after H😢I felt so bad😢We look after him one night a week so the rest of the family get a decent nights sleep.

Today is just a trip to the supermarket.

Well done on the driving corner💪🏼

So pleased you had such a lovely afternoon Mary.I sorted out the medicine cupboard yesterday after realising my cough medicine had no taste. It was 18 months out of date.

Glad to hear your sister’s operation went ahead and wish her a speedy recovery Whitewave.

Thoughts to all unwell and thinking of all with worries.Hope your DD’s scan goes ahead next week Gingster🙏🏻and hope the little one is feeling better Brook.

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Good morning.
DH has gone to golf so I’ll potter around this morning.
Being picked up later to go to lunch with a couple of friends.
Wishing a good day for all.

NannyJan53 Fri 27-Oct-23 08:50:59

Good morning from a dull and damp Black Country.

Evening out last night to see Fascinating Aida at Birmingham Town Hall. 40th Anniversary Tour! Their routine 'Cheap Flights' raised a cheer as their Greatest Hit! Home on train by 11.15 hence didn't wake up this morning until 8.30!

Today is sorting out bedding to take to caravan in Somerset tomorrow, and bring down some winter clothing and store away summer clothes. Hopefully take down the Gazebo for the winter. I feel discombobulated waking so late!

Hope the medical team can get to the bottom of your concerns Mick

gM have you considered joining u3a? Lots of interest groups there.

Wishing you all the best day possible

Jaxjacky Fri 27-Oct-23 08:33:49

I can associate with that gMattie

Gingster Fri 27-Oct-23 08:32:30

Good morning all and it’s very still out there . No breeze at all.

Yesterday DD’s scan was cancelled until next week. Not sure why !

I shopped for her and brought little DGD back home with me.
We made pumpkin shaped cup cakes and played games. She had an afternoon of fits of the giggles, mainly at Gaga (grandad) . Her big sister facetimed her from southampton and they played a game . Technology can be good !
Corner you certainly did your random acts if kindness yesterday.❤️.

Today we have our financial adviser coming round to discuss stuff. 😵‍💫.
Hopefully we’ll see our Friday friends at the pub and try to lighten our loads. Everyone seems to be troubled with something.

Take care 🌻

grandMattie Fri 27-Oct-23 08:28:34

jax, I could and do order online but the textures, thickness and colour are often difficult to judge. Also, I need to be brave occasionally!

Georgesgran Fri 27-Oct-23 08:22:56

Good morning from Durham - wet again here. Will it ever stop! Can hardly believe this is the last weekend in October, etc - hasn’t this year flown by?
DD1 is all packed ready for their flight to Turkey later, she seems to have caught DGS1’s cold, I hope a bit of sun and heat helps.
DD2 and family are coming this afternoon, as we’re hoping to get some pumpkins - wellies needed! SinL will help me with some conservatory furniture before they leave.
First, a quick coffee with a friend before she flies to Kos, with her grandchildren tomorrow.
I can only echo other GNs Mick in that it’s good to seek advice. I’m sure you’ll keep us informed - we do care.
Best wishes to all. X

monk08 Fri 27-Oct-23 08:19:39

Good morning all from a misty Black country rain overnight again.
Mick good to hear your seeking advice let's hope they can find some answers.
No plans as yet but DH needs to take fishing trophies into jewellery quarter for engraving so possibly we may do that.
Enjoy your Friday everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Pittcity Fri 27-Oct-23 08:17:48

Good morning from Colchester where the rain has stopped for a bit. It'll be back later. 15° high.
The heating has been coming on first and last thing with the nest in the living room set at 20.
I have only just woken as DS came home at 5am unexpectedly and scared the whatnot out of me. He will sleep for most of the weekend and get fed and his laundry done. His home visits are not out of love for us 🤣.
Love to all 🦩 x

Gala Fri 27-Oct-23 08:15:34

Good morning from a dull but dry Sefton. A good nights sleep last night so feeling a lot brighter & energised after a migrainey couple of days.
Two zoom exercise classes first thing then some catching up needed today. .... washing which hopefully I can hang out, dust removal, a further holiday deposit needs to be paid & then a click & collect in our local market town.
Thoughts with those struggling with life & glad see Mick is taking medical advice.

Marydoll Fri 27-Oct-23 08:14:05

Good morning all from Glasgow where it is 10°C.

That is a sensible idea to have contacted your team. Hopefully it is not something serious and does provide an opportunity to discuss your meds and a suitable diet into the bargain. I hope they are quick to respond.

I received a letter from my rheumatologist yesterday, which unsettled me a bit. He said that he wasn't entirely convinced my biologics are to blame (I am, been there before with a different one) and suggested more investigations are required. 😔

Well done Corner, the word motorway is no longer in my vocabulary! No-one here seems to drive less than 70mph.
Aly, a gentle day for you!
I am so pleased to hear the steroids are starting to do their job, Oops.

I had such a lovely afternoon yesterday.
Firstly, we picked Dollie up from school, the joy on her face was delightful. We got her ready for swimming, then mummy took over, bringing with her, a bag of yummy fudge for me.
Then it was off to DS2's to see Babydoll. She has just started on solids and was most annoyed that I wasn't feeding her fast enough. I had thought DS was cooking, but he treated us to fish suppers. For weeks I haven't been eating, but I did manage a small portion. It tasted like the food of the gods!
The journey home was a bit nerve wracking. DH hasn't really driven in the dark for years and I spent most of the journey praying. 😉
GM having been stuck in the house, sometimes I don't speak to anyone, other than DH, all week, DH doesn't do small talk. It can get a bit lonely.

DH's golfing partner knocked the door yesterday, asking if we had a thermometer because his toddler grandson was running a temp. I produced three, one fancy one and two underarm digital ones! He said out of all the neighbours, he knew I would come up trumps.
I also offered junior Calpol, only to see the expiry date was 2/22!.
I think a cull of the bathroom cabinet is required!

Have a good day folks, whatever your plans. As always thoughts for all those in the sick bay, so many of you. I have lost track at bit and don't wish to offend anyone. 💐

luluaugust Fri 27-Oct-23 08:09:26

Good morning from a wet W Kent. Quiet day yesterday with a visit from the gardener, washing pushed in machine and a lot of reading. Today I feel a bit better and hope to collect hearing aid batteries. Talk about a glamorous life.
Mick I hope you get some answers soon.
All the best

RosesandLilac Fri 27-Oct-23 08:08:12

Good morning, it’s dry and cloudy here on the beautiful coastline in Ceredigion.
I finished crocheting my blanket yesterday, it’s far from perfect but I’m pleased with it. I also did more watercolours.
A restless night, but will get up in a minute and get the bus into Aberystwyth, I want to go to the art gallery and get a few bits and pieces.
A beach walk planned for this afternoon when the tide’s out, more beach combing I suspect!
Take care everyone 🌹

harrigran Fri 27-Oct-23 08:03:54

Good morning from the NE where we had heavy overnight rain.
Yesterday was a wasted day. The solicitor did not turn up for the appointment, went to get the phone to call them and found an answer machine message. They claimed the Internet was down and they could not print off necessary forms so would have to reschedule. I am losing patience, this has been an ongoing issue since May.
I am going out for lunch with my friend today, just a local restaurant, handy because her DH drops us off and collects later.
Have a good day.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 27-Oct-23 07:56:33

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Mick, I hope you can get some answers.
I was up at the crack of dawn sending an Engage consult message to the Health Centre at 7 am. I have a touch of cystitis so probably need antibiotics. In a minute I must ring and cancel my flu jab which is booked this morning. Hopefully they can do it next week when I have my covid jab.
I should do a bit of housework today. Our cleaner is still unwell.
I was pleased to go my Book group yesterday. Only my second outing in a fortnight. One of our group is a published author and is about to have her latest published. We celebrated with cake!
Have a good day.

Grammaretto Fri 27-Oct-23 07:53:22

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Still dark .
I'm expecting the family from Nottingham today so have been making up beds and shopping.
I have to work at my volunteer job until midday.
The boiler in the wee flat has broken but the plumber says he'll "pop in later to have a look" I hope my lodger will be home I don't sound stressed do I grin
I am relieved that your team is going to look after you Mick
cornergran you must ooze reassurance! Wonderful going to your neighbours aid like that
Karmalady when are you opening your French bakery? wink

Hoping for a Friday full of smiles 😀

Grandmabatty Fri 27-Oct-23 07:52:23

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and damp. Daylight is just breaking. Mick you've done the right thing. Hopefully they can sort it out. Oopsadaisy I'm glad you are beginning to feel better. Cornergran well done with the driving. It can be quite stressful.
Yesterday I was driving too, but not as much as Cornergran. I picked up dd from the garage and dropped her home, then drove to Stirling to my art class. It was the last session until next year. I used my posh pastels and drew a composition of pumpkins, apples, pomegranate and a goat's skull. I was moderately pleased with it but it needs more work. Later I visited mum who was tired so I stayed for twenty minutes.
Today I might go to Aldi for the food shop. I shall potter about the rest of the day. Tonight I'm babysitting the boys. DD and Sil are taking his parents out to dinner to celebrate his mum's big birthday. It's babysitting at their house though, so put the boys to bed and watch tv should be my lot. A late night I expect . Have a good day all

Beechnut Fri 27-Oct-23 07:49:40

Good morning everyone from a wet Severnside. I m glad to hear you have sought help Mick.

I know Mattie, sometimes the only person I talk to is myself. The other day when my friend came you’d think I had an opportunity but no I could hardly get a word in edgeways 🤣was nice to see her though.

I had a pleasant day yesterday. Pleased with my crafting and then did my shopping. I did forget a few things I had on my mental list, doesn’t matter there is always next week.

Today I have to finish packing up some things to get rid of and then Hoover round. I shall also be making some spiced pumpkin soup.

Have the best day you can.

brook2704 Fri 27-Oct-23 07:45:43

Good morning everyone from Cambridge where it’s just getting light and looks a bit cloudy
Good to hear you’re getting some advice mick hope things improve a bit soon
Not sure what’s planned yet today, if youngest DGS is feeling ok we’ll be off out somewhere as DD and sil are both working. If not it’ll be another day at home
Hope your sister recovers well from her operation wwm, audio books are a great idea
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Aldom Fri 27-Oct-23 07:44:54

Good morning Mick I hope the team at the Churchill Hospital will respond promptly. Wishing the best for you.

Greyduster Fri 27-Oct-23 07:33:22

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a cold and very foggy South Yorkshire. Mick I hope you get the help and reassurance you need from your medical team.
The gardener came in the pouring rain and did a splendid job. Rain stopped just as he finished🙄. I spent the afternoon with my niece and her lovely little granddaughter who is very entertaining. If this fog clears, I will drive over to DD’s who has suggested we go for a walk if we can find somewhere that’s not too soggy! Might be a tall order at the moment - all our green spaces here seem to be inundated.
Well done for the long drive, Corner!
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from North Yorkshire.
I’m up early to take my friend for her radiotherapy. It’s switched to morning from late afternoon slots. I’m hoping the traffic isn’t too bad.
The dentist advised removing a tooth so I decided to have it done there and then. Spent much of the day cuddled in a blanket reading my book or napping. No warm drink or food till this morning. Hopefully the soreness will settle quickly.
Pleased to hear you are seeking medical advice mick.
Have a good day everyone.
