Morning everyone. Still feeling tired after our visit to Dundee. For the first time we took taxis ( but mastill managed 12,000 steps on Tuesday and Wednesday). I was successful in the Pavers shop, so mission accomplished.
Came home to a freezer shelf full of food from dd2. She was on half term last week. We will be looking after the granddogs over the weekend as they are going to Blackpool. Dgd has never seen the Illuminations. I’ve fond memories of going as a child.
Dgd is on half term this coming week so child care will be split between us and her other grandparents.
Glad you’re seeking advice, Mick. Hope all of you have a good day. I meant to make a note of all your doings so I could respond individually, but I didn’t 😀.

Good Morning Friday 27th October 2023
(62 Posts)Morning from a damp S Hampshire, it rained overnight and we’re on a rain warning for the weekend.
You’ve done the right thing Mick and they should provide guidance.
You must be shattered corner.
Can you order materiel online gMattie perhaps?
I went to a different hairdresser yesterday for a trim and am much happier, it was cheaper too.
Walk this morning, grocery delivery this afternoon and pub for a catch up this evening.

Good morning everyone, haven’t looked at the weather, but we’ve been very lucky with sun every day with some wet nights.
Mick hope your team can help soon.
We had a lovely lunch at an Italian restaurant close to where GD is sharing a house in Fishponds, an easy no traffic drive there and back, it was good to have both daughters and GD there, unfortunately GS wasn’t able to join us as he had back to back lectures.
The steroids appear to be working so I’m feeling a lot better and plan to do some cupboard tidying today.
Hope everyone has a good day with some sun and laughter, best wishes to all those who are stressed or anxious.
Morning all x
Mick fingers crossed that your symptoms are easily sorted 🤞
We have The Imp and his brother today not sure what we will be doing.
Chinese takeaway this evening
Have a good day folks 🙋♀️🦩
Good morning and today will be cloudy in s somerset, very sodden ground here, rain just about every day and/or night
Thinking of Mick and hoping it is a simple fix by the medical team
Croissants looked very good, not as large as shop bought but I know exactly what is in them, I quickly froze all of them, just for an occasional treat.
I need to walk into town for organic milk later, for my kefir prep on saturday, I always meet other people while walking, often they are on their own too and always as many men as women. There is always a cheery response to my `good morning. It is called a town but is very small and ancient and most make the friendly eye contact
Have a good day
Oops: drier! I’m not properly awake yet!
And I’ve used touched twice in a sentence! Sigh!
Good morning from a damp looking morning which should become dryer later, we’re told.
I hope you are reassured by the medical professionals, Mick; it’s good to seek advice.
Well done on the driving, cornergran; what a busy day you had but satisfying to help your DGD.
Safe travels, baubles! I
I was touched to read how touched some of you were by the poem I mentioned yesterday. (The Donkey), not least because it was new to you. Having briefly owned a donkey (at DH’s place) it resonates even more than before.
Thinking of those with worries of any kind. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
Good morning from the South Downs.
Hope the doctors get you sorted soon mick
My sister has had her operation so it is just a question now of waiting for the biopsy reports. She, apparently will look like she’s been in a road traffic accident for while - so I suppose very sore and no doubt feel very miserable for a time. I’ve ordered her some audio books as her sight is not so good (cataracts) and it will be something to think about whilst getting better.
Nothing major planned today. DH is having his medicine review at the doctors. I’m going to have a rummage in the main bathroom and give it a spring clean - try out my new steam cleaner 🙂.
Squash, mushroom and Gorgonzola pilaf followed by fresh fruit salad and yogurt. For supper.
Peace and harmony to all.
Good morning all from dark South Lanarkshire.
Mick I’m pleased to hear that you’re in touch with your surgery. Hopefully the doctors will find out what’s going on with your health.
We’re going to Edinburgh to childmind again. The other grandmother had been staying with them over the October break so we weren’t needed.
DH will spend the day in a chair reading to the little one, that’s the plan anyway.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is dark and looks more than damp from overnight rain.
Tiring if successful day yesterday. I managed all the motorway driving, 150 miles, a lot for me, Mr C did the local stuff. One very happy granddaughter who had spent time tidying her Dads house - as she’d made most of the mess it seemed fair to us.
. Had a pleasant lunch together and enjoyed hearing her thoughts and plans. Helped find what she wanted for her overnight stay at a friends party, we processed two washer loads and deposited her and what looked like most of the contents of her bedroom. I’ve had the phone next to me all night in case she had problems. Of course she hasn’t. Dad is back in charge this afternoon. Phew. Little ones who stay put are easier on the nervous system.
Another distressing call in the afternoon from a very unwell friend followed by one from her frantic daughter. Much to my amazement I was able to help a neighbour sort his phone top up in GN d evening. His wife is in hospital after a TKR and had called to ask if I could help him as he was stuck. Neither of us had done it before. Chaos ensued but we got there between us.
Physio for me this morning, half a dozen things from Aldi on the way back and that’s it for today until the unexpected arrives.
So sorry you have ongoing difficulties mick, you’ve done exactly the right thing in seeking help.
Have the best day you can everyone. .
Good morning from Bristol. We are promised another lovely day.
Sorry that things aren’t going well for you, Mick, but pleased that you are getting help.
Other than my tai chi class yesterday, I did very little yesterday. I received a call from a very sweet but extremely boring friend last night. We haven’t seen each other in person for many years but she stays in touch. She was appalled that I had had a conversation with another person all day. I told her it was a widow’s lot, then asked her how many people she’d spoken to other than her husband. I rest my case!
No Spanish today, haven’t decided what to do. I’m wadding and assembling the second Christmas quilt ATM. I need to get more fabric for the third but that involves a long bus journey to places I haven’t been brave enough to visit yet.
I hope today brings comfort to those in sorrow, distress, illness or anxiety. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Ps. Don’t forget your random act of kindness ❤️
Good Morning Everyone,
