Boris Johnson is to become a presenter on GB News.

Can't wait for more news about bendy bananas ๐Ÿ˜ƒ ๐ŸŒ

Doesn't bear thinking about!
Perhaps he'll mention his various coups de foudre. ๐Ÿ’˜ ๐Ÿ’˜

I want to know where the coup de pouce came from this time.

Joseann Fri 27-Oct-23 19:14:52

I bet GB News have been chasing him for a long while * Casdon*.

foxie48 Fri 27-Oct-23 19:16:21

Well I think he's been up for sale to the highest bidder for a very long time. Is he doing the children's story time slot? (Yes I know they don't have one, duh!) He'd make a great Thomas the Tank Engine character, Mr Bluster always promising the train would arrive on time and then coming up with lots of reasons why it hasn't and it's everyone else's fault but not his. On a serious note, he could interview all the people he has elevated to the Lords and ask them what they have contributed to our great nation and how they are spending the money they can claim.

Del Boy, is that you?

That made me giggle๐Ÿ˜

I enjoy GB News, but cherry pick the presenters.
I may watch Boris for the comedy factor, he can be amusing and quick witted, better job for him than politics.

So do I. I only watch while having breakfast and then in the evening.

I think viewing figures will soar because you will have people who like GB News fullstop, people who like Boris and will switch on for the first time and people who hate Boris but will watch so they can try and make fun of him and have a good old moan.

One thing for sure - the other channels have missed out so they will be watching too.

RosiesMaw Fri 27-Oct-23 20:30:46

A sentiment I shared - but not in the same way as you I suspect gringrin

Oreo Fri 27-Oct-23 20:37:54

Well, he did go, after all.
He needs a good job and always seems to land on his feet, like a cat.๐Ÿ˜„
He will def do wonders for the viewing figures as such a marmite character.

Joseann Fri 27-Oct-23 20:46:56

Will he bring Dilyn into the studio like Andrew Neil did with Mollie on Newsnight? I'd definitely watch then!

Shinamae Fri 27-Oct-23 21:58:28

Favourite presenters are Patrick, Jacob Rees-Mogg, and Michael Portillo hopefully will be able to add Boris to that list..๐Ÿ˜

GB news is going from bad to worse. BJ wont be capable of thinking on his feet will mumble and bumble and make up untruths.

M0nica Sat 28-Oct-23 08:04:04

Probably doesn't need the money. I gather he earns millions on the rubber chicken circuit in the US, or perhaps there it is the rubber steak circuit.

However, it will keep him in the public eye, which will be his main intention.

Grannynannywanny Sat 28-Oct-23 08:30:00

This will be interesting. Heโ€™s demonstrated in the past that he struggles if he canโ€™t stick strictly to a pre written script. There will be gaffes galore . Hopefully theyโ€™ll have the sense to keep him away from any serious interviews .

CoolCoco Sat 28-Oct-23 08:48:14

Heโ€™s not a great orator or presenter and I doubt any other broadcaster would touch him with a barge pole, but it gets publicity for the station and no doubt will have a few more viewers to boost their paltry figures.

I look forward to checking him out before making any comment positive or negative.

Iโ€™ve never seen GB News.

Actually dh once went to a dinner where BJ was the speaker. Dh said he was very good, coherent and put forward some interesting points backed up with knowledge. Yes it was BJ! No bumbling or blustering as we all came to see. Maybe he will make a good presenter after all.

Youโ€™re wrong. There was a very senior TV journalist on TV last night who has worked for other channels for years including BBC and ITV and he reckons the other channels will be furious they missed out. He says people love Boris because he is amusing and never bland.

There was also a TV producer on who had worked at other channels and she said if they had David Cameron coming into the studio the workforce would be silent and show no interest. If they had Boris arriving they would all be buzzing and looking forward to it.

Paltry? They beat BBC and Sky News in ratings.

Excellent news re the Buffoon as I never watch GB News. I hope Channel 4 never hire him.

BlueBelle Sat 28-Oct-23 10:14:28

I have not watched GBNews presume by the name itโ€™s right wing and a biased programmed which is exactly what Johnson is so they should be well suited I believe his programme is going to be showing โ€˜the power of Great Britain around the worldโ€™ well thatโ€™s a big old laugh to start with so obviously a comedy show

Yes GB news is awful and very right wing. Rees Mogg is a presenter along with at least 3 or 4 ex Tory MPs.

foxie48 Sat 28-Oct-23 12:28:42

One thing is certain, he'll be a better presenter on GB news than he was as PM of GB. I look forward to him being sacked (again) for telling lies!
