I've also read that the BBC has moved it's narrative towards the right since GBN has been on the air.

I couldn't vouch for that, as I rarely watch the news on any channel.

I suppose that if you choose people because of their controversiality (I wasn't sure if that was a word, but autocorrect seems to like it ) then you can't be surprised when they are controversial. They make their living by being offensive, so yes, they will give offence.

Well they lost that vile Laurence Fox and the other chap, I can’t remember his name but he was from New Zealand, and didn’t someone go who was very well known after only three weeks? I suppose they’ve got to fill the vacancies.

They do seem to have a higher than average turnover of presenters, so I suppose they need to have an ongoing recruitment process.

John Cleese is joining GBN which he calls KGB News. I am coming to the conclusion that when all other options to earn a crust fail, get a job here.

The BBC make a fuss about their Children in Need project. They started advertising it some weeks ago and I think it’s due in November. I’ve heard that much of the promised donations on the night never actually materialise. Some must though, as various projects do appear to receive contributions.
If GBNews want to ask for donations to something charitable, I have no problem with that. And the Poppy Appeal is a very worthy cause. I won’t be contributing to their scheme though, I will buy a poppy and wear it.

I donated to their appeal because last year I bought a very lovely enamelled poppy and a wristband from the poppy sellers and will wear them again this year. So my donation via GB News was considerably larger than what I would have dropped in a collector’s box.

Didn’t Children in Need give loads to that frightful Camilla Batmangaleigh (sp?) for her dodgy Kids charity?

The BBC Children in Need charity was started by the BBC, the first broadcast being in 1927 and changing in concept in 1980.
It, like the Royal British Legion, raises millions for charity each year.

If GB News wants to appeal for donations on behalf of the RBL fine, every little helps.
But that is all they are doing, publicising it.
The hard work goes on elsewhere, all over the country.

That’s the case, I was offered a choice yesterday when I got mine. I chose a paper one, which actually stays put because you can put the pin through the paper stalk rather than round the plastic stalk, which tends to allow the poppy to fall off when you take your coat off.

Yes, they are using up old stocks as well as selling the new paper ones.

I saw some poppies in M+S yesterday that were the usual type with the plastic stalks, but I heard on the news that although the poppies will be all paper this year, they will be using up left over stock of the old ones too. I didn’t buy one yesterday because I want to get an all paper one.
