It’s an implement I’ve had for over 50 years and I don’t know where it came from in the first place but it’s an ideal lid opener? Mind you I should read labels before using it as I’ve just opened a jar of red onion chutney thinking it was marmalade!

I have an unusual gadget to loosen bottle / jar tops our auntie brought back from New York about 40 yrs ago. Is the gadget you have from abroad?

No idea where it came from originally but it’s very useful.
