Good morning all from sunny? Harrogate
Have not read all your posts, hope to catch up later. This man is coming to cut our hedge, it’ll take most of the day. JL is delivering our new fridge/freezer and taking the old one with them. Meanwhile I chat to my friend and then my sisters! Possibly another friend will be coming round with the key for the church hall if she is not well enough to come tomorrow. The photo of the tin mine is stunning, Mizuna but rather anyone else than me set foot in it!

Have the best day possible folks

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Lancashire, currently 9°C and raining lightly. Glad you are getting back to normal.

The fireworks were noisier last night but didn’t go on too late. I hope we’ve seen the last of them for now, I really don’t like them. We had curried lamb and rice for dinner last night. I was apprehensive about the effect on my acid reflux and hernia. There were a few ominous rumbles and signs of acid but fortunately not a full blown attack. However I think it’s wise to steer clear of hot spicy food for the time being. Shame, as I love it! No real plans for today other than some light housework.

Glad your DH is feeling a little better Ashcombe.

Hope your DD gets some answers Gingster.

Your DH is coming on in leaps and bounds Cornergran. Not literally of course!

Please don’t over task yourself Marydoll and enjoy your time with Dollie.

Good to see you posting here Claralou 😊. Your family must keep you on your toes!

Hoping Urms and DH are now in their happy place and the journey went smoothly.

Thinking of Grammarretto having surgery today and praying all goes well.

Well my mug is empty so I’d best get up! Happy Monday 🌹. Sending love to any poorlies and thinking of our dear Baggs as always.

Morning from baubles bit of South Lanarkshire, where I’ve been staying overnight with DD2 and family. As usual it’s been lovely and I’m now relaxing before heading to DD5 and her ironing! (School uniforms), I do them so much better evidently😂. Usual routine later, I’ll collect DGC from school and see to their tea, I really enjoy the time with them.

Welcome Claralou, you sound like a very busy lady! I hope you enjoy this nice start to the day.

Thoughts very much with you and your daughter today Gingster.

Thinking about you too Grammaretto, soon be all sorted.

Morning coffee in your She shed in the sunshine sounds like a lovely start to the day Kalu

Have a good time with Dolly Marydoll and best wishes to all for a pleasant day.

I understand Grandtante 's DH's funeral is today so although I don't expect her to be looking in on GN, I am sending my "virtual" love and support at this difficult time thanksflowers

Morning from a dry, bright Co Durham.
Welcome claralou. Hope your renovations are swiftly completed grandMattie. Hope your dd gets answers Gingster. Glad your husband is improving ash. Enjoy Dolllie, Marydoll. Lovely bird table, Taichinan.
Off to blitz the house now, not wielded a duster or hoover in 3 weeks #lazy gran.
It’s our dgd’s 9th birthday today, she’s our only gc so very precious. She will call in ( with her mum) after school. She messaged me at 7am to thank us for her birthday card, they do grow up so quickly.
Have the best day possible one and all.

A damp good morning from Co Armagh
It was a glorious day yesterday , lots of tidying outside , patio furniture put away , but coffee’s outside before the chairs were lifted , all my bedding and the spare bed washed and dried !
Needless to say I was wrecked , even though I am chiefly the spectator these days
Shopping today , I have been warned that next Monday is the day for Christmas shopping , mustn’t miss that 🙄
There used to be lovely Craft fairs locally but haven’t heard of any yet this year
🕯️🕯️lit yesterday for those amongst us needing thoughts

monk08 Mon 06-Nov-23 09:35:56

What a lovely bird table Taichinan planted with flowers in the bottom would be nice, and what a clever thoughtful gardener you have.

Taichinan Mon 06-Nov-23 09:27:24

Good morning all from a sunny and dry Angus coast. The washing machine is doing its thing and hopefully, with no rain forecast, all will be dried outside.
Glad you're beginning to feel a bit better Mick.
You must be so glad that 'B' Day is here at last grandmattie - and you'll be even more so when all is finally and successfully concluded!
Gingster I'm so sorry about your poor DD. What a worry for you all. I hope the hours spent in A&E today will give you some answers and comfort flowers
When I got home yesterday - after another delightful drive through Perthshire in all its autumn 🍁 finery - I was aware that 'something was different' as I walked backwards and forwards bringing everything in from the car. Then I realised that there was a large bag of sunflower seeds and an opened packet of suet block on the table in the corner of the garden room which definitely weren't there when I left on Friday. I stood and pondered them and then looked up to see this beautiful bird table outside on the patio! And that definitely hadn't been there when I left. Lovely Gardener, who's hobby is woodworking, has been at it again! This has obviously been his wet weather project for October. As he tells me, he loves to do things as little surprises to put a smile on someone's face. He certainly put a smile on mine! He's one of life's true gems and I count myself so lucky that he came to work for me all those years ago.
Now I must off and get this show on the road - lots to do before my covid booster at 4.58pm. Yes, that's the time in the appointment letter! Precise if nothing else.
Have a good day everyone, particularly Urms and Himself in Malaga and Marydoll with her Dolly-time 😉

Claralou Mon 06-Nov-23 09:16:33

Hi all good morning, im relatively new here, i am retired 4 years along with my husband, we are parents of 5 adult children ranging from 33 to 43 years old, we have 16 grandchildren whos ages range from 3 to 24 and 3 tiny great grandsons , they keep us very busy as you can imagine, i love pottering especially in my garden, i also love helping my family who do appreciate any help they get, i thought i would just say hello and tell you a little about myself

Bella23 Mon 06-Nov-23 09:14:46

Morning from a dry morning in Eden after a wet night. Not one firework was heard last night. When we first came there was a full-on huge fire with a beautiful display and hot food in the village hall. Things went downhill when Health and safety said the farmer's field was not safe and the fire was to be in a skip. Not a pretty site and one of the major organisers moved away.
We're waiting to hear from GC about their exploits.
A busy week clearing up after the visit twice last week.
Good luck to all with problems.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 06-Nov-23 09:12:14

Morning all, after several nights of little sleep I gave in and took a sleep aid (herbal) last night. Have woken up with an awful headache.

Will catch up with you later 🙋‍♀️🦩

harrigran Mon 06-Nov-23 09:10:00

Good morning from a sunny NE.
It was very noisy here last night, noise continued from dusk until very late. I did not go to bed until 11.30 and there were still the odd bang. I must say I do not like modern fireworks, they sound like bombs exploding and so bright I could see them through the blinds.
SIL told me he is coming back to the UK in the middle of the month, he has been missed.
Have a good day.

Kalu Mon 06-Nov-23 09:04:34

Good morning all from another sunny day in Glasgow, I could get used to this. 🌞

I am currently having coffee in my sun bathed she-shed (with the heater on) watching the birds feeding. Bliss. Small pleasures of peace and calm.

The roofer starts today to investigate where the leak in the hall is coming from then later this afternoon, a visit to the hygienist.

What a worrying time for you Gingster. I hope your wait in A&E isn’t too long and a solution is found for your poor DD’s health concerns. Poor girl has been through so much.

Wishing all a good day and a better day for all with worries and struggles.

Marydoll Mon 06-Nov-23 08:55:00

Glad you found us Claralou and good luck to Gramamretto. Hopefully you will be well enough to join us at our next meet up.

Susan56 Mon 06-Nov-23 08:53:00

I’m glad your mum is doing well Grandmabatty. They keep us on our toes don’t they😖

All the best to Grammaretto today for her cataract surgery👀💐

RosiesMaw Mon 06-Nov-23 08:47:12

Good morning from sunny N Bucks. Autumn is a beautiful season when it’s like this and the Autumn colours have never looked lovelier.
I woke up to a strange smell of cooking and realised that the cassoulet I had thrown into the slow cooker was, well, still cooking slowly! So it’s had 14 hours. hmm Good thing it was on Low and it will certainly be tender (tender enough to eat with a teaspoon I suspect!)
Art History restarts for me today and I am looking forward to seeing my friends there again. We are all of an age but they are among the liveliest most intellectually active people I know and their company is always stimulating - and fun.
Gingster all kind wishes for you and your daughter, what a dreadful worry, but how good that you are close enough to be of help.
Bonfire night passed peacefully enough , in fact I don’t think I heard any fireworks! Maybe people in the village were buying the Asda silent ones as it certainly wasn’t raining.
Blessed with the first ever greyhound out of the five I have had not to be bothered by either fireworks or thunder, makes life must less stressful, but my sympathies go to all those whose pets are quivering wrecks.
With kind thoughts to all poorlies or worried or in distress, I hope today will be gentle with us all.

monk08 Mon 06-Nov-23 08:46:52

Welcome Claralou 👋

EkwaNimitee Mon 06-Nov-23 08:46:42

Good morning Mick and everyone from Carlisle where it is trying to brighten up. Showers forecast today.
Are you new Claralou? Welcome if so!

I did little except sit about yesterday, my day off activity except the brain sort. Today I shall break the back of the weekly housework and laundry and do some admin in the afternoon. Nothing interesting to report really!

I hope something positive comes out of the day for you and your DD Gingster.

Have the best possible day everyone.

Jaxjacky Mon 06-Nov-23 08:46:09

Morning Claralou good to see you here.

Nannagarra Mon 06-Nov-23 08:44:15

Good morning from Sefton where the weather is exactly as Gala describes.
Glad to hear of improvement in Mick, olddudders and Ginny. Sending thoughts to Gingster and her daughter.
Lots of admin awaits me.
Enjoy your day everyone. Urms 😎 🍦 🌞

Claralou Mon 06-Nov-23 08:37:44

Good morning all, very wet day here in west Yorkshire, i am having a day sorting out the greenhouse lots to do in there and will keep dry , hope you are all well as can be 🙂

Georgesgran Mon 06-Nov-23 08:34:39

I don’t know about tin mines Mizuma but here in the North East, women were considered bad luck down coal mines.

GrannySomerset Mon 06-Nov-23 08:32:21

Hope the A&E visit is helpful and not too protracted, Gingster, not the best start to the week. Am awaiting the floor layer to start creating havoc in the hall, now almost emptied though shifting the cupboard will take two of us - at least it is empty, the contents in two laundry baskets in the sitting room, which looks like a low class jumble sale. The week’s plans will have to revolve around the chaos.

Feel a bit more like myself this morning and am comforting myself that I would have felt even worse if I had actually caught covid if my reaction to the jab was so strong. Probably not true, but it consoles me for four lost days.

Good to see Marydoll writing at length again, and hope she and Dollie have a happy time together.

Georgesgran Mon 06-Nov-23 08:30:35

Good morning from Durham - dry and bright so far outside. Huge fireworks at a house opposite DD2, so we stood on her doorstep to watch. They must’ve been ‘industrial strength’ as they set off all the car alarms in the vicinity!
Coffee with a friend this morning, then something to return/swap at Dunelm later. My neighbour’s tree continues to shed beautiful golden leaves - all over my drive! I’ll sweep them up, bin, then plant some pansies in my window boxes before dark.
I hope your DD gets some news Ginster she has been through so much. Trusting Urms and himself arrived safely at their happy place and found it as they’d left it - enjoy! Tea and KitKats works for builders gM fingers crossed the job goes to plan.
Thinking of our GNs and their loved ones who aren’t so well today.
Best wishes to all. X
