Good Morning Everyone,
Dark but signs of overnight rain here in brackley this morning.
Yesterdays trip went OK , I went from Bicester to Buckingham going on a village bus route ,and could see the changes taking shape as to the East-West Rail link, and HS2 .
Had a all day breakfast in my favourite cafe in Buckingham ,and saw some people I had not seen for awhile.
Today , maybe Bicester again only just for a couple of hours .
Take Care,
Mick
Such wonderful news from Grammaretto ❤️
Day 3 of mayhem but the result will be excellent so am going with the flow (and making numerous cups of coffee and tea!). Should be finished and straight by the end of today. Miserable weather so not entirely sorry to be confined to the house where my other activity includes knitting sheep. Such an exotic life!
Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Lancashire, currently 10°C and raining lightly.
Yesterday was a quiet pottering sort of day and today will be much the same. I must de-fluff the washing machine today, I wipe it after every use but the fluff builds up over time. I also need to give the fridge a good clean but will see how the day goes.
Good to read of improving health, happy families and good holidays.
Wishing better days ahead for those who are unwell or unhappy 🌻
Good morning all from a cold wet windy day on the Angus coast. It's going to be a long winter!
So nice to read all the up-beat posts today and to learn that all is going well in all directions. The holidays look and sound lovely - we once had a wonderful stay, courtesy of an airline, in one of the world's top hotels in Kuala Lumpur, hollysteers - they certainly know how to look after their people! Enjoy your stay.
Just mundane stuff going on here - the usual tai chi and shopping yesterday and housework today. Yesterday afternoon and evening I was falling asleep at the drop of a hat, but whether that was the effects of the hectic weekend or the covid and flu jabs on Monday I don't know. If the latter then that's the only effect I've felt apart from a slightly tender area on my covid arm.
So off I must toddle. Enjoy your day everyone - rain or no x
Morning from a wet and breezy S Hampshire. Too many posts to comment but I’m pleased the vibe is generally upbeat.
RosesandLilac we too accumulated bottles of wine and I donated most of them to local charities, PTA’s for their raffles, bottle stalls etc.
A collecting trip to M&S, boiler service and making a podiatrist appointment today.
🦩🦩
Good morning Mick and everyone from damp Carlisle where it has evidently rained during the night.
I checked through my clothing stores yesterday morning but nothing has been cleared out 'in case I need it sometime' ! I have to say, I feel embarrassed looking at the amount of stuff. Later, in the evening, I was encouraged to think of having another attempt on reading a piece about 'swedish death cleaning' in the i newspaper! Maybe....
Today, A visit to the GP, my kidney infection has returned, much to my annoyance. This time, I want to knock it on the head before it gets worse.
Then I hope to tackle some ironing.
Bahrain is an interesting thought Hollysteers. I've never fancied Dubai and have only ever visited it's horribly expensive duty-free, enough for me...
My very best wishes to Oops and family and hope you find matters gradually improving and get back here soon.
Good morning from a damp looking Suffolk. We both overslept and no time to read your posts or make porridge before I leave for my keep fit class in 30 mins followed by lunch with a dear friend.
Hope all have the best day possible…..must scoot now.
Morning everyone from a wet and dreary north Kent.
Been trying to get back into my usual routine after my jury stint. It was quite a distressing case which has been in my thoughts since it finished, but I have had enough of dwelling on it.
The last few days I have been working in the garden getting it ready for the winter; just about finished and managed to get the lawn cut yesterday before the rain again this morning. Think it will need one last trim before its winter slumbers.
This morning I am off to my exercise class; haven’t been for quite a while so suspect it will be hard work! Then this evening DH and I are being taken by DD and SiL to see Tony Blackburn and his Sounds of the Sixties show which we are looking forward to.
Hope those on their holidays have good weather and a good time; those not so well feel a bit better and that you all have a pleasant day.
Good morning all from N Bucks where it is dull and wet.Ah well, we’ve had some beautiful Autumn days and I dare say we’ll see more.
Today Rosie is SIX and still daft as a brush, but the most affectionate and cuddly dog I have known.
An indoor day today - Opera Plus this morning and Movie Mix this afternoon when we are looking at a hauntingly beautiful Chinese film called “So Long, My Son” . Quite heartbreaking but very beautiful.
Clean bill of health at the dentist yesterday - no telling off about flossing!- and meeting an old teaching colleague at the desk we decided to celebrate with coffee and a (very generous) slice of victoria sponge at the Camp Hill community cafe near us.
Wishing you all a peaceful and pleasant day and respite for poorlies or those with worries.
Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where it is 7°C.
It's great to read so many positive posts this morning. Yesterday, I was sad to read Oops' post yesterday.💐 and that your sister and family find the strength to cope with your BIL's situation, Baubles. 🙏
Yesterday was pretty full on, but I survived and had a better sleep last night. It's all relative. I never thought I would last the day and be able to get through the Safeguarding training.
The PP was nowhere to be seen 😡 and I had to open up for the trainers. Unfortunately I couldn't get the screen to come down from the ceiling. Panic set in, because they were showing slides an a video. I phoned the PP to come over and assist, he never answered the phone. Eventually the new curate came across. He tried everything to get it working, to no avail. Then we realised that I, a respected former IT coordinator hadn't plugged it in at the wall! 😂
I have totally changed my opinion of him. I had the feeling he didn't like me and felt awkward in his company. How wrong I was!
He asked for a get out of jail free card , in case he got into trouble with me in the future! 😉
Then he gave me a hug, which I thought was a bit ironic, considering the trainers were going to discuss respecting other's personal space. 😁
Earlier in the day, the lovely lady GP unexpectedly phoned to check up on me. That alone gave me a boost, that someone actually cared.
She has changed my anti nausea tablets to try and give me some respite from the random vomiting, saying that more investigations are required. I also have to contact my rheumatologist as a matter of urgency.
Later, another GP phoned, to say she had been talking with my GP and they wondered if I would be interested in talking to some students, because I have so much wrong with me!
Today, I need to look out my clothes for the christening on Sunday and take my dressy boots to the cobblers. You put things away for the winter, thinking they look fine, then you get them out later and they look tired.
I hope those on holiday have a great time, the poorlies have a gentle day and that everyone has a pleasant day. Hang on in there GM.
Good morning from North Yorkshire. Wet and windy today.
This morning I am running the parent group. My co-volunteer can’t be there today so I’ll have to go early.
urms enjoy your gentle day.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning ,wet here too. Lovely long walk yesterday but may only be a quick scurry today.
Quite a few pics have been posted locally of the Aurora Borealis, we are in Worcestershire, this is so exciting!
Have a lovely time with your daughter Mizuna. Try and keep cosy everyone x
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a misty, damp, cold South Yorkshire. I had a walk out yesterday to look and see if some birds I’d seen the day before when I didn’t have binoculars with me were still around, and they were so I was able to properly identify them as Little Egrets - a sort of small white heron with long black legs and yellow feet. They were paddling about and feeding in a flooded horse pasture. What a delight! Not a sight I ever expected to see here, so I reported the sighting to the local ornithological society. I called in Morrisons on the way home to buy a poppy sticker for my car and chatted for a while to the RBL chap, and a passing ex Royal Marine Commando who picked up on our conversation.
Writers group this afternoon at the library.
Have the best day you can folks!
Have just opened the curtains & blinds Nannagarra & can see all the dog walkers & schoolies wearing their "big coats", hoods on, heads down. It made me realise just how much under my duvet is my "happy place"😴. And so handy!
Good morning all and it’s wet and dreary here in Essex.
We had hoped to get to our Suffolk hideaway this week for a few days but that’s on hold at the moment.
I’ll go to church and then up to town to buy birthday cards and chocs for friends. Lots of birthdays before Christmas ! 🤨.
Hollysteers your holiday sounds wonderful.
Yours to Grandmadinosaur. Enjoy the sunshine.
Urms 💚.
Have a lovely time with your Dd Mizuna.
Take care everyone
Good morning from a wet and windy N. Bucks
Yesterdays visit to the garden centre ended with me feeling like a six year old as DH treated me to something I have wanted since I was that age.
This morning I have a doctors appointment re my blood tests last week. This afternoon is WI sewing group where we are making some small Christmas items for a local nursing home.
Wishing you all a good day with a smile along the way.
Good morning everyone from sunny Málaga. 😎
We plan a day on our own, no companions. Although all our lovely friends and neighbours have been very solicitous and kind, the constant explanations have been draining and I find I have been tearful on a good few occasions since our arrival.
So today, a taxi down to La Carihuela (€6 well spent, we deserve it) and stroll a short way along the paseo, people watching and looking out at the Mediterranean while we enjoy a small lunch and a coffee.
Here’s Matt.
x
Good morning from a wet and windy hill in south Gloucestershire, I’m still lazing in bed.
Yesterday the utility room was tacked, DH roped in to sort out his stuff and now it looks really nice - just need to keep it that way (looking at DH 👀)
We have far too many bottles of wine, largely given to us; we rarely drink. Perhaps I can give some as presents?
There’s a bag of unwanted dog things to go to the dog rescue, they’re grateful for almost anything.
Today I have a manicure this afternoon, nothing else planned but must pop to the post office while I’m out.
Hope today goes smoothly for you all 🌹
Good morning everyone from a wet Northampton, 9° outside at the moment, due to clear up after lunch, when I hope to get to the well-being cafe with my knitting for a chat.
My washing dried beautifully yesterday, and I enjoyed a walk in lovely sunshine with my walking group, followed afterwards by coffee and lemon drizzle cake at charity HQ.
So much happening on this page yesterday, can't remember everything and won't mention names for fear of missing anyone out!
Wishes to all those worrying, and hope others have happy holidays and events
May Wednesday be kind to all.
Good morning from a dull and rainy Black Country.
It was as well I took Mum to Dentist yesterday, as she just could not hear what they were saying. Has to go back again next month for a filling. She used to walk there and back, about 25 mins each way, but finding that too much now.
Gym shortly, then meeting a friend for lunch as we have vouchers for £12 off our bill each. She only arrived back from Tenerife yesterday!
Hoping the Urms are having a lovely relaxing much deserved break. Looking forward to going to Malaga ourselves next May.
Wishing you all the best day possible
Morning all from West Oxfordshire where it all looks a bit damp.
I have the Barmbrack to finish this morning. Dried fruit has been soaking overnight in cold tea and whiskey. I also made a new recipe Italian chocolate torte yesterday which I’ll fill with chocolate frosting. I should have some in the freezer.
OH is having a cortisone injection in one of his knees this afternoon. Sea bass for dinner, which he will cook if he’s up to it.
Later, I will go to the Local History Society which meet five minutes walk away. I’m not sure what the topic is but they usually have interesting speakers.
Have a good day everybody, especially those of you with troubles.
Ignore dust and mirrors Grammaretto - irrelevant and unnecessary. I hope poor H is better soon Susan56. Your bath sounds very luxurious Kalu.
Good morning from a wet W Kent. Off to visit friend for a cuppa later this morning but otherwise not pushing myself due to nasty backache.
Best wishes to all
I certainly am still under the duvet Nannagarra.... I can hear that weather, no need to look! I intend to stay here as long as possible. I have a zoom exercise class this morning so I will have to get up eventually. No Pilates this morning but will collect our DGD2 from nursery this afternoon as usual. We will stay & keep her amused & have our tea with them....fish & chips I believe. Yum.
Take care out there.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and cloudy.
Have a lovely time with your DD mizuna hope you get lots of shopping done
Your holiday sounds interesting holly enjoy the warm sunshine
I’ll be out most of the day today, the gym this morning then coffee and a catch up with my pal. Later we’re picking up DGD for a sleepover so I’m looking forward to that too, it’s so lovely that she asks to stay over.
Hoping H is feeling a bit better soon Susan, safe travels
Pleased you slept so well last night Kalu after your relaxing bath. It’s showers for me mostly these days although I do enjoy a really good soak from time to time!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
