Good Morning Everyone,
Dark but signs of overnight rain here in brackley this morning.
Yesterdays trip went OK , I went from Bicester to Buckingham going on a village bus route ,and could see the changes taking shape as to the East-West Rail link, and HS2 .
Had a all day breakfast in my favourite cafe in Buckingham ,and saw some people I had not seen for awhile.
Today , maybe Bicester again only just for a couple of hours .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a very wet Bristol. It has been raining on and off all night. No wind.
The work is going very well, the stud wall was removed making my hall twice the width, a hole has been made in the wall for a fan, half the bathroom floor has been removed - only half, so I can still use the loo at night. The noise has been horrendous, but they’re doing very brilliantly.
I went into town in the morning to get some backing fabric for my ginger cat patchwork. I couldn’t think with the racket; so I’ll try to work at it today.
I’ll probably go to Waitrose this morning, and I’ve got my book group this afternoon, so hope to miss a lot of the noise. My plumber told me that the worst of the noise will happen this week.
So pleased for Urms and Himself; glad that oldd carrieson improving; hope Marydoll doesn’t have any further adventures and tries to pace herself; that ging’s daughter improves, ditto for all the poorly and unhappy. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a wet and windy Torbay after a beautiful sunny day yesterday.

It must be good to be back into your routine of bus journeys, Mick. Very welcome, I’m sure.

My appointment with the hygienist went well, considering she was not permitted to treat me in the 12 months following my heart surgery, according to her code of practice. Today, I see my dentist for the preparatory work for a crown. Afterwards, I treated myself to a coffee and cheese scone in Dunelm before tackling Lidl!

Good news to report on olddudders: he has tested negative today! He was affected by Covid for just under a week and I seem to have avoided it…..🤞

I hope good progress is being made by others who are unwell and I'm glad all is proceeding as planned with the bathroom, grandMattie.

🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Ashcombe Wed 08-Nov-23 06:05:13

Just reread my ramblings: the coffee and scone treat was yesterday after I’d seen the hygienist! 🙄

Good morning from the Persian Gulf, Bahrain. Really enjoying this luxurious hotel with DD. Pool day and vitamin D top up yesterday. Open air dining last night and we seemed to be in the minority with locals the main attendees. Excellent service and DD managed to get a table at the front for the entertainment, music and belly dancing, which I love. It’s an interesting mix of western glamour and conservatism. Really enjoying it as it’s not the usual tourist place. I’ve never really fancied Dubai. The buffet was truly magnificent, worldwide dishes. Now to face more good food…

Hope Urms and himself are having a good time and thoughts to all with worries.

hollysteers Wed 08-Nov-23 06:13:18

Glad you have avoided the dreaded Covid Ashcombe, hope the bathroom work is completed soon grandMattie and thoughts to gingster and her DD.

Good morning all from a wet and dark Black country.
DH has a fishing contest his last one this year, haven't decided what I shall do with my empty yet.
Glad your bathroom renovations are progressing nicely GM
hollysteers you sound like a good time is being had along with your DD perhaps you could send some sun this way.
Will catch up with everybody's happenings later enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Well Ash, at least it wasn't a chocolate bar! Good morning from Cornwall where it's gently raining. My blind daughter arrives this evening from Liverpool. Due to signal work her train terminates at Plymouth so her brother is collecting her there and driving her to my place. I'm so looking forward to being her eyes around the Christmas shops for ten days. She'll be able to catch up with old friends too, from when she lived here.

My daughter-in-law sent me a lovely message and a photo of David Jason throwing his crutches away, which will be what I'll be doing soon. I suppose my family will be delighted for me after all this time but generally we're pragmatic and don't fuss about stuff like that, so I was quite touched. My youngest grandchildren have never known me without crutches and will be probably be puzzled!

Good morning all from Harrogate- I’ve no idea what the weather is - I haven’t opened the curtains yet. I have woken unusually early so decided to post before the interruptions start. Good you are getting back to your normal routine Mick. I thought you were just putting in a new bathroom GrandMattie not demolishing your flat! Hope it’s worth it!
Glad Oldudders is now negative *Ashcombe, such a relief to all.
Yesterday was so busy with art club in the morning and the Tuesday club in the afternoon, then tried to dry off my sheets which I’d stuck in the washing machine before going out, but the tumble dryer would not work. Eventually it got going and was able to put my favourite sheets back on my bed. Today planning Togo to Lidl to fill up my new fridge/freezer. Must book afternoon tea in Scarborough for Saturday. Hope to read the rest of the posts later
Have the best day possible folks.

Good morning from a wet and windy s somerset, weather is going to be overcast all day

Pottering today, like most days, things evolve and I always manage to keep myself happily busy. I have a card to buy and perhaps some special hand made chocolates

Have a good day

Nannagarra Wed 08-Nov-23 06:47:18

Good morning from wet and windy Sefton. If you’re still under the duvet Gala (as I am), I wouldn’t rush to get up.
Every post before mine is full of good news. What an excellent start to the day. Less than a month now, Mizuna!
Mr Garra, shopped out by me yesterday, will be glad of family visiting!
As always my thoughts go to those who are struggling. Have the best day possible everyone.
🌂 🍁 (🩴 for Urms and anyone else on holiday)

Kalu Wed 08-Nov-23 06:56:46

Good morning all from a very wet Glasgow, rain still falling.

Not such a busy day today. At some point this morning I will return the courtesy car and collect my own. Service done, vacuumed and washed but it will be sitting in the rain now. Not much on the agenda today so hoping a peaceful day is ahead.
GD2 has tonsillitis and they are steering clear until she has recovered.

After two busy days I decided a luxury bath was needed last night. Bubbles with geranium and lavender oils induced a good night’s sleep and I slept like a log.

Good to hear how quickly OD has recovered from covid Ash. GD1 also recovered quickly but not so, DD1. No rhyme or reason why.

Kind thoughts to those having another day of worries and struggles, hopefully a pleasant day is ahead whatever your plans.

Good morning from a dark, damp Colchester.
Missing the weekly coffee meetup as I'm meeting my sister and Mum for lunch and a bit of retail therapy in London.
DH is off fishing again.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from Shropshire.

A hectic start as we received an SOS from DD1 to ask if we could look after H as he is still unwell.Grabbed some admin so I can tick a few things off my to do list and now we are on our way over the border to North Wales.

I will go to church this morning to the school Remembrance service while DH stays home with H.

Good news on the covid front Ash.

Sounds like a good idea to go out for the morning grandMattie.Great that you can already see how much better your flat will be.

Happy holidays all on their travels.

Have the best day you can everyone.🌺🦩

Grandmadinosaur Wed 08-Nov-23 07:28:10

Good morning all from Majorca.
We decided on a last minute escape from the gloom at home. So glad we did yesterday was a warm 20 degrees. Not as hot as Bahrain holly which sounds fabulous but enjoyable all the same. We sat outside last night at 5pm eating tapas and in the light - wonderful.
.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 08-Nov-23 07:29:33

Hope poor H will feel better soon Susan

grandMattie Wed 08-Nov-23 07:29:48

mizuna, there was a “silly” cupboard, a door wide, the whole length of the hall. If you put anything in there, you had to sidle in to retrieve it! So I’ve had the stud wall taken out, and then reuse the same space for storage. It give the flat a grater sense of space.

Grandmabatty Wed 08-Nov-23 07:29:49

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° and wet. Not windy though, which is a blessing. Lots of positive posts this morning. Susan I hope H gets better soon.
Yesterday I had another nice day with dgs2 and a quiet evening. recovering
Today I'm going to town to buy birthday cards and I'll get family Christmas cards while I'm there. I have a form to hand into the lawyer too. This afternoon I'll visit mum. Other than that, I will quietly potter. Sausage casserole for dinner. The slow cooker is put to good use these days. Have a good day all.

Grammaretto Wed 08-Nov-23 07:31:18

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is just getting light but raining.

Mick you sound much more like your old self.

Kalu I am glad your soothing bath gave you a well deserved sleep.

cornergran Wed 08-Nov-23 07:37:24

Morning Mick, morning All from a wet and windy corner of Somerset.

Leaving here in bright sunshine yesterday we returned in the dark in a cloud burst. A day of contrasts. Enjoyed wandering the shops although failed dismally to find an item I thought would be simple to track down. Oh foolish me.

Our Wonder Woman daughter in law is progressing, it was good to spend time with her and understand the less positives of the last week. As she said nothing unusual. Not four weeks post op yet patience is required. Nothing major for me to worry about anyway, phew. Must dig out some memorabilia for our grandson who wanted to know about any family members involved in WWI. He was amazed to hear he shared a name with my grandmothers brother who didn’t return.

A serious attempt at dust removal will keep us busy indoors today. We’re a bit grubby in some places. Oh the shame. I must also phone our Welsh friend to return a call from yesterday. Too tired last evening. A guaranteed sit down for an hour anyway. Cottage pie and lots of veg later, one of Mr C’s favourites.

Would ear plugs help grandmattie? I’m pleased work is progressing well. Good news about your husband ash. A speedy recovery for sure.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Beechnut Wed 08-Nov-23 07:37:52

Good morning everyone from Severnside. The weather is horrible.
As it was nice yesterday I went to Cribbs Causeway. Everyone was very helpful in shops especially when after looking all around a display for something I wanted in Lakeland the assistant showed me and it had been right in front of my eyes 👀. It wasn’t busy in the mall but it was in Hobbycraft. I wasn’t sorry to get back home and had a nap after lunch.

Today the furthest I plan to go will be my garage.

Have a good day all and thoughts to those not feeling their best. Hope you enjoyed LWW Urm 🥂
☔️🌴

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and cloudy.
Have a lovely time with your DD mizuna hope you get lots of shopping done
Your holiday sounds interesting holly enjoy the warm sunshine
I’ll be out most of the day today, the gym this morning then coffee and a catch up with my pal. Later we’re picking up DGD for a sleepover so I’m looking forward to that too, it’s so lovely that she asks to stay over.
Hoping H is feeling a bit better soon Susan, safe travels
Pleased you slept so well last night Kalu after your relaxing bath. It’s showers for me mostly these days although I do enjoy a really good soak from time to time!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Gala Wed 08-Nov-23 07:41:21

I certainly am still under the duvet Nannagarra.... I can hear that weather, no need to look! I intend to stay here as long as possible. I have a zoom exercise class this morning so I will have to get up eventually. No Pilates this morning but will collect our DGD2 from nursery this afternoon as usual. We will stay & keep her amused & have our tea with them....fish & chips I believe. Yum.
Take care out there.

Good morning from a wet W Kent. Off to visit friend for a cuppa later this morning but otherwise not pushing myself due to nasty backache.
Best wishes to all
