Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its dry here in brackley at the moment .
My usual routine of going to Bicester , having a coffee with a cake or savoury before doing any shopping .
Mind you it has been a little chilly just lately and with rain has seen people I know low in numbers .
Take Care,
Mick

Safe journey home tomorrow for you both Urms. I hope your break in your happy place keeps you both feeling strong until you can return in February. I’ve just enjoyed the view of the after sunset sky from the living room window. Actually we get the same view from the kitchen but if I’m standing by the sink it’s not quite the same!

Will see if I can post a photo.

Held in my thoughts, Kalu and Mr.K and hoping you find strength🦋.

My turn to vent! Just answered door to a young lady. I pointed to my No Cold Caller sticker to be told I’m from Scottish Power, it’s a customer care call. I asked if she’d made an appointment. She said I don’t need to, it’s a care call! I asked if she was pushing Smart meters, of course she was. Told her we didn’t want one till they could iron out the problems that occur. She then tried to talk down to me so I closed the door on her. Why do they persist when you’ve made your position clear multiple times?
Sorry, rant over. Off to Pilates class now😀
Have a good evening all.

glammagran I heard several passengers from your cruise ring in on Jeremy Vine’s radio 2 programme this lunchtime it sounded horrendous 😱

Makes our storm in the North Sea last July seem like a gentle breeze.

Kalu all the best from me 💐

glammagran Thu 09-Nov-23 13:12:09

Gwenisgreat No, I’m not Carol.

A cabin steward told a passenger there have been fatalities but I cannot corroborate that. I do know an 83 year old has slept in a chair since Saturday with broken ribs. The waves in BoB were highest in 76 years according to local data.

When I was a child, we too had potties, but they were emptied into the septic tank. In towns, the waste was thrown into the street, in rivers serving as drinking water sources, etc. it is that which I was referring to.

Good morning all from a sunny at the moment Glasgow.

Despite being pragmatic, fighting to be up beat, I am struggling today as DH has had a particularly bad night and I am battling with dark thoughts. Not much good company today, sorry.

Have the best day you can all.

Gwenisgreat Thu 09-Nov-23 10:57:12

glammagran just seen a report on that storm by Carol (not you?). How dreadful - you must be a survivor!! I do9n't remember a lot from school, but I do remember being told the Bay of Biscay was subject to such storms - especially this time of year!! What on earth was going on in the heads of those who planned such a cruise? I'm so glad you have survived!

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lancashire, currently 8°C.

We decided to go out yesterday to the Wyre estuary. It’s a pleasant drive through some lovely still unspoilt villages. Most of the lanes were open, just a few rather large puddles where the drains were obviously struggling to cope. The marsh road was fine, the dykes on either side are well maintained. A lovely peaceful few hours contemplating Mother Nature. If Baggs is reading this she will know where I’ve been. Some rather soggy fields here and there. This means I didn’t do yesterday’s chores, and as the sky is now a brilliant blue they may not get done today either!

Good news Marydoll, will keep my fingers crossed for you.

So happy for you Urms.

I hope the day brings some hope for those who are unwell or unhappy 💐

Good morning from a very damp West Sussex. It was briefly dry half an hour ago.

So glad to hear the good news about your sister, Whitewavemark.

Glammagran,, I had lost track of time as I was at my daughter’s looking after GCs when DD had Covid, but I did look back and found a couple of your earlier posts from the cruise. I thought maybe you were back and this was another one. I am so sorry you and your fellow passengers were put through such an ordeal. I would think your action group stands a good chance of getting a proper investigation and damage compensation.

So pleased who hear the Urmstons have had such a lovely time in Malaga.

Must go as have to help unload a pallet of hygiene products!
