I think their argument is that subsequent posts might not nake sense if the op was later changed.

Having been here since the beginning, we seem to have coped without.

That is true kittylester and probably the main reason why.

We do need an editing option. I find it's easy to make mistakes when typing on my phone. I don't always notice straight away. And sometimes I'd like to change the title of my post to reflect the subject of it more accurately. Has Admin ever explained why we are not given the option?

It irritates me if I make a mistake so I would love an edit feature.

No I ve been on here about 11 years and there has always been posts asking for one
there is no intention of giving us one Fairycakes

If Mumsnet has one, we may also get one in time 🤞😊

Mumsnet has an edit button now. I think Gransnet is viewed as the poor relation.

We have asked dozens of times it’s not for want of asking I think everyone would like just a short time to edit their posts but No

It would be useful if there was an edit button, wouldn’t it? Another forum I use does have an edit facility, I think you have up to an hour to change something if you’ve noticed an error. Not really sure why this can’t be done on GN, though.

Thank you 😊

Agree with Elegran

If it is to change something important - that it reveals too much about you, or is a wrong fact, or that you recognise would insult someone or be misleading, that kind of thing, you could report your post to Gransnet through the "report" button and ask them to change it. Whenever I have asked, they have done it, and I know they have for others.

No, it isn’t, unfortunately. Requests for this facility have been made but none has been forthcoming.

Is it possible to edit our posts after we have posted them? I often want to change things afterwards, even though I previewed it beforehand.
