When I was 16 I was obsessed with WWII films. I fell in love with James Coburns pure white teeth and naughty glint in his eye, Charles Bronson, James Garner, David Niven and Anthony Quinn. All of whom were either passed away or old men by the time they had entered my consciousness. I think I was attracted by how powerful they seemed.
I love the film Brief Encounter, it’s not sexy but it really touched me especially at the end when she returns to her husband and you just know that he knew what she was up to.
