Good morning from a dull grey Black Country , where it is predicted to be sunny later.

Thursday walk yesterday morning was in bright sunshine and fairly warm. We sat outside at the park cafe in was so mild.

My friend messaged me yesterday to ask if I fancied going to Solihull. So will be out for most of the day today. MrJ is off to Bristol to do some DIY jobs for his DD in her new home, he will be back Saturday evening. I have just made a Lasagne for him to take, hence up at 6am as I am out by 9.30.

We had a meal out last night, as we had vouchers for £12 off the bill which expired that day. I ordered blade of beef, which they didn't have. So had a Goan Prawn curry instead.

gM on the final leg now, I am sure it will look lovely when all finished.

Bit of a shock for you Ashcombe but hopefully now tests will help decide what to do next.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning from a chilly W Kent. DH will be entertaining the gardener while a do a bit of food shopping, not that we need feeding much. DD has offered a meal when we visit this afternoon
Enjoy your outing Mick
Glad you are nearly finished gM
Ash what a shock, I hope all becomes clearer soon.
Best wishes to all

Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s forecast to be a lot colder for the next few days so winters definitely arrived.
What a worry for you Ash , I hope things are investigated quickly and your mind put at rest
I’m off to the gym this morning for a couple of classes and then a trip to Tesco. Nothing else planned for later but hopefully it’ll be dry enough to get wrapped up warm and out in the garden for half an hour.
Your dance class sounds interesting BlueSapphire always good to try something different
Enjoy the school run with Dollie Marydoll 😀
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning all and there’s another glorious sunrise over the sea here in Suffolk.

We are heading back to Essex this morning - it’s been a lovely few days of pottering, walking, relaxing with no demands on our time.
Last night I had book club at a local pub. A nice group of ladies and we’re booked in for a Christmas meal on the 21st Dec.
Fingers crossed I will be there 🤞.

Once home I’ll prepare for DS2 coming for the night. He’s seeing some of his old pals this evening and staying at ours. He’ll leave after a ‘full Monty’ tomorrow morning. It’s his dad and brothers birthday tomorrow, so I expect we’ll all breakfast together.

Ash I have been diagnosed with glaucoma, after 3 years of inconclusive tests. Treatment is just eye drops every night. I was surprised as there is no family history. A shock for you though (mini stroke). Further tests will tell you more. 💐.

Have a lovely day * Mick*.
Enjoy YOUR shower GM.

Take care 🍂🍁

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a dry South Yorkshire where it promises to be a nice day. Enjoy your day out Mick! I didn’t do my usual walk yesterday, it was too windy to be in the woods and then it started to rain. I went and had lunch with DD and then called in at Dunelm and bought a couple of throws for the sofas in the conservatory. DS rang me in the evening for a chat, which was rather chaotic because he was moving round his kitchen cooking their evening meal and his phone kept cutting out. I have food shopping this morning and then a volunteering session this afternoon.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Mick it sounds like your in for a nice day enjoy your lunch.
GM glad you enjoyed the shower so nice you're on the home straight now.
Ash what a shock but good to know they are on top of things requesting further tests.
Might make a start on Christmas shopping see how I feel once I've had some breakfast.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Clear skies to the south so perhaps a bright day.
I was awake just before 6, typical on a day when I don’t have to be up and busy! Some shopping this morning and the cleaner will be here later. I’m only getting her to come occasionally for the bigger jobs that are harder on your own mostly involving moving furniture.
Ash my neighbour had a similar dizzy type episode last year. Her GP granddaughter thought a stroke was a possibility and so it turned out. She is fully recovered. I hope your tests are done soon and the results are good.
Enjoy enjoy your day out Mick.
GM happy showering!
Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning from a dry Cornwall where it was mild enough last night to go without a coat. Today will be sunny. A very distracting day yesterday when two extremely handsome electricians turned up to rewire my entire flat and spent most of the day there. Later, a lovely evening with my extended family; lots of wry comments from my sons about what I can pack into the next six months. They are such kind men, compassionate and sweet but they also know me well enough to have fun with me about anything. My six-year-old grandson shortened my crutches and walked around leaning on them.

Today a trip to M&S and a visit to my favourite charity shop on the way back.

Marydoll Fri 24-Nov-23 07:39:27

Good morning all from a chilly Glasgow, where it is 3°C.
What a dreadful shock for you, Ash. I hope you get your investigations done quickly. You are correct to be concerned about travel insurance. If you do not alert your travel insurance provider that you are having investigations, it can invalidate it. I have been in that position a number of times.

Yesterday, despite periods of vertigo, I got a fair amount done. DH had bought a new 27 inch. PC monitor, because he wanted a larger one with enhanced graphics. He only bought a 24 inch. Last year, but wanted even bigger and was giving it to me.
My titchy one is 19 years old, but still going strong, but Second hand Rose here is not proud and was delighted to get his old monitor. However, my eyes couldn't cope with the much bigger screen, due to the brightness and my dizziness. 😎
I asked DH if he could swap them for me, because I find things like this difficult due to my painful hands.
Two hours later, due to a cable issue, he was still fiddling with his new one, refusing help. I got fed up and sorted mine in minutes, it's intuitive for me. He was not amused 🤣
When I was working, I could do this standing on my head. 😉, I haven't lost my touch. He grudgingly admitted he was impressed.

Spurred on by my success, I decided to work on the issue with the parish website. I hadn't a clue what I was doing and had no-one to ask. After consulting Mr Google, You Tube and a few false starts, I managed to do it. I got DH and a fellow sacristan to try out the interactive buttons and they worked. I have no idea how I managed it, but I felt quite smug.
My colleagues used to call me a geek, they are indeed correct, I enjoy doing this kind of thing.. 🤣
Such a change from thinking I was dying a few months ago.
To add to my upbeat mood, I have at last been given an appointment for the cardiology professor's clinic. They are like gold dust! Hopefully I can get some help.

We are doing the school run both ways today, a rare occurrence. I must get moving. To see our wee Dollie is a great start to the day. 💕
On the way back, we will pop into Lidl for DH's lebkuchen and panettone.
Then because its dry, the bed will be stripped.

Have a good day folks. On the homework run now, GM. Baubles, I hope your DH had a great birthday.
Best wishes to all the poorlies.
Have a good day folks, whatever your plans.

Good morning everyone from a still dark Northampton, 6°C outside according to Alexa and forecast to remain similar all day.

An interesting dance session yesterday - we were learning tap and ballet sequences for our names! Our teacher.had assigned a particular step to each letter of the alphabet, then we had fun learning the sequences. Several new steps were involved so a steep learning curve, but most enjoyable. Took us all of our tap lesson to learn the steps for eg, Rita, so didn't get to my name. But mine was the first to learn in ballet class.

My usual Friday outing to the shops this morning. Opened a new bag of prunes this week to find they were already mouldy, so need to return to Sainsbury's. Then this afternoon I am going to watch DD at her riding lesson; this evening will be spent at rugby, a home match against Harlequins, so Friday night under the lights. I believe we may be on tv.

Surprising news for you yesterday Ash; hope the further tests give more information.

Have a good Friday everyone.

Pittcity Fri 24-Nov-23 07:35:01

Good morning from a cold, dry Colchester. The sun is up but the temperature isn't.
A few bits to get in the City centre today. Tea and cake at the charity shop where I volunteer to say goodbye to one of the managers later.
I also have laundry to tackle and to compare car insurance as this year's increase is eye watering.
Love to all 🦩 x

RosesandLilac Fri 24-Nov-23 07:28:21

Good morning.
What a shock Ash, I hope you’re reassured by further tests.
Have a lovely day Mick
You’re nearly there grandMattie I bet it’s looking lovely!
I have nothing planned today either ginny, I suppose I should start thinking about Christmas shopping but I have 10 birthdays in November and running up to Christmas hence completely lacking enthusiasm!
I’m enjoying the drier weather, I might do some more garden tidying but avoiding cutting back plants that the bumblebees are visiting? Not a lot of oomph here today 🙄

grandMattie Fri 24-Nov-23 07:27:01

Lovely shower! 😂😂

ginny Fri 24-Nov-23 07:10:04

Good morning. I’m up early and DH has already gone off to golf. The house is clean and tidy, no appointments , clubs and no visitors expected.i can’t decide if I should have a whole day of crafting or to do some Christmas shopping. Will decide whilst enjoying my porridge.
Hope the extra tests for Ash go well.
Enjoy your day Mick.
Last lap for GrandMattie👏
A good day wished for all especially those struggling in any way.

Susan56 Fri 24-Nov-23 07:02:53

Good morning from Shropshire.

That sounds like a good day out today Mick and good news that the end is in sight for the work on your flat Mattie🥳

Ash what a shock for you.It doesn’t sound like the ophthalmologist is worried at the moment but it will take you time to process what has happened💐

Today is the last day of our week off.We both feel so much better. We have a busy week or so ahead so nothing planned for today.

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

fancythat Fri 24-Nov-23 07:01:37

DH got bored that is, because he eventually did not like, not having much to do.

fancythat Fri 24-Nov-23 06:59:59

Good morning from a dry, non windy day, down South.
We were semi retired in our business. DH eventually got bored.
Yesterday he passed an exam, so now we can set up another business of a completely different genre.
When he went for training, he was the oldest by about 20 years! No matter.

loopyloo Fri 24-Nov-23 06:08:14

That's sounds like a great day out Mick!
Glad you are having further tests, Ashcombe.
DH has driven off to work. Lots to tidy up today and lunch with friends in the High Street. So major smartening up this morning.
Hope today goes well for everyone.

grandMattie Fri 24-Nov-23 06:01:55

Good morning from a dark Bristol.
Enjoy your day out, Mick. Poor you, Ash, that must have been a shock! Hope nothing worse happens.
I’m on the home straight. Although everything is not quite finished, the plumber has given me permission to have a shower in my own bathroom this morning - the extraction fan is going in later this morning! I’m very excited.
The hall is being painted, it makes such a difference; one doesn’t realise how dark plaster is.
Apart from the coming and goings, I had a quiet day; just shopped for some fruit and went to my Taichi class. The teacher usually spends about 10 minutes haranguing us about anything from the benefits of vegetarianism, the work Dao Lin or climate change, I find it very wearing, and judging by the stony faces around, I’m not alone.
After a shower in MY bathroom, I have decided not to go to Spanish as I’ll be required for the final bits such as the placement and choice of light fittings - I bought several.
May today bring calm to you all and enjoyment of the coming weekend.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩

Ashcombe Fri 24-Nov-23 05:43:18

Good morning from a calm and fine Torbay.

That sounds like a great day out, Mick, so I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

Thank you for the kind comments regarding my outpatient appointment at the eye clinic regarding the possibility of glaucoma. All the tests were conducted promptly and an ophthalmologist reviewed the results. No immediate concerns about glaucoma but I was shocked to be told that the field of vision test indicated some deterioration since the last check up in March 2020, which has most likely been caused by a mini stroke! Further tests and referrals are to be arranged.

My immediate thought was about driving and also travel insurance but the ophthalmologist said she wasn’t telling me not to drive at the moment. Back in August, 2021, I was diagnosed (via the telephone!) with labyrinthitis following an odd experience at a Jersey Boys tribute concert and I do wonder if that was when it occurred. At the time, I had to abandon my Front of House duties and drive home.

A quiet day at home today is very welcome! Have a good weekend. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good Morning Everyone,
Dark and dry outside here in brackley and no doubt cold as well here in brackley this morning.
Today , my usual routine is broken as I am going on a day trip by coach to a Xmas lunch and to see a duo perform Beatles songs , which also includes Tea or Coffee ,a quiz, and raffle this based at a Hotel just off M40 at Warwick ,Longbridge roundabout , I went to a similar show a few years back before Covid at a hotel then near Berkswell near Coventry which has since closed.
Take Care,
Mick
