Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Just getting light here. Yesterday was dreadful weather. I rang the doctor who phoned back and a df drove me to the surgery. Despite constant coughing I was told my chest is clear and no need for antibiotics. They'll send me for x-ray if I'm still as bad in 2 weeks!
My lodger gave me homeopathic pills. I took 2 and slept through the night.
Today my Pictish art class and Gaelic this evening.
Your new layout and new shower room sound excellent gMattie well done for sticking at it.
Have a fab time at Covent Garden Rosie'smaw
Hoping everyone has the best day possible.

Good morning everyone from a clear and still moonlit Northampton, 3°C outside, and a dry sunny day forecast.

I too have an early start for my planned day out in Milton Keynes; need to get a bus from here just after 9am to town then the MK bus at 10. Will be in MK before 11 am. Hoping for a successful shopping trip and a nice lunch out.
Collected DGD's dressing gown from Next yesterday, but was disappointed with it, felt that it wasn't her; will return it on Friday; and would be better going to the actual shops to see and feel the item. More choice in MK! I have an M&S voucher and would like some new slippers, not really happy with my Pavers ones, especially as I have already had to take needle and thread and repair a huge split.

My DSister arrived safely at her care home in Wiltshire yesterday; my DBrother was there to see her safely settled in and deal with the legal paperwork. Her elder DD (who lives quite near) arrived with a suitcase full of clothes and essentials. We all hope that she feels happy and will enjoy being cared for, and we know that she will be safe and not be on her own again. Glammagran, she is in Goatacre, on the Swindon road. There is now her house in Somerset to deal with and sell.

Your outing sounds fabulous Maw, I am so envious. Have a lovely day.
And wishing all a good day.

Good morning Mick and All from a chilly South Bucks.

I have 4 WI friends coming this morning for a Pre Christmas Rummikub session where I will be serving warm mince pies, stollen cake and coffee, as well as brandy cream 😀

I have a tale to tell you Kitty about ladders 😳

Good morning from North Wales where a dry day is forecast.

DGD had a play date after school then her friends mum took her to her dance class. She got home about 7pm very excited as she had won a poster competition. She had won the class prize and the overall school prize.H didn’t go to school yesterday as he wasn’t feeling great. He fell asleep at 6 and slept until 6.30 this morning.

Grandmabatty I once had a new three piece suite delivered and like you thought it had a cover on it but no it was the wrong colour.I hope you don’t have to wait too long for the right door.

Ash hope you warm up soon.

Good morning everyone from a very chilly Inverness, some snow flurries are forecast for later
Sounds like a lovely day rosies - enjoy!
I’ve a volunteering session on zoom this morning and then this afternoon we’re off on the flight down to London and then onward onto Cambridge. DH is coming along this time too so I’m looking forward to a travelling companion.
Hope everyone keeps warm and safe in this cold icy weather
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Clear skies, dramatic moon and a rosy sunrise today. Perhaps it will be sunny.
I’m off wreath making at a local stately home today then a glass workshop this evening. I’m not very good at this kind of thing but I like to try and enjoy the challenge.
Wishing you all a good day.

NannyJan53 Tue 28-Nov-23 07:39:57

Good morning from a grey and cloudy Black Country, where it rained all day yesterday.

Consequently didn't go on the Monday walk, did housework instead.

Going to the gym at around 8.30 today, as I am meeting friends for lunch at Noon.

Enjoy your day Maw sounds lovely.

Have a lovely day all

Good morning from a cold, damp Colchester where the moon is still shining brightly even though it's daylight.
Tuesday is charity shop volunteering day followed by a sight test as the opticians is on the way home.
Chicken and chips for tea, this time with salad.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning it is 3 degrees here in W Kent. A drive out into the country this morning to visit a friend and then more card writing later.
Enjoy your day RosiesMaw
Glad things have come to a satisfactory end gM
Hope the door gets sorted out Grandmabatty and hope you warm up Ashcombe
Best wishes to all

Ashcombe Tue 28-Nov-23 07:04:47

Good morning from a chilly Torbay. I didn’t sleep until after 1.00 am due to the cold and ended up donning a jumper on top of fleece PJ's!

The path of renovations certainly hasn’t run smoothly for you, grandMattie nor yesterday for Grandmabatty! I hope your pc responds to treatment, Oopsadaisy1 and that the bank issues from Sunday were sorted out. Your cultural day out sounds wonderful, RosiesMaw.

Yesterday, I was pleased that a delivery of coffee pods arrived, delivered exactly as predicted by the tracking system provided by Yodel. I took advantage of a special deal (Black Friday) for a better price than usual. We save the used pods to recycle in France, which is easier than travelling to a depository here!

Our first rehearsal actually on stage last night went better than expected by the director, with the set for Cranford looking like a street in York! Unfortunately, the lack of heating (again) made it even more authentic!!

Take care, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

kittylester Tue 28-Nov-23 07:01:22

Good morning all from a very cold North Leicestershire.

We have the lovely Colin coming to clear the gutters this morning since I have banned DH from using ladders to that height. DH has a blood test at 9.02!!

Then, we will finish the Christmas shopping - we will!!

Grandmabatty Tue 28-Nov-23 06:52:12

Slippiness!

Mizuna Tue 28-Nov-23 06:50:42

Good morning from Cornwall where it's dry and going to be sunny, though not what I'd call cold. Yesterday's funeral and wake were wonderful, a real celebration of a 96-year-long life. The food at the wake was incredible, all locally sourced except for the salmon in the quiches. I was with friends I've known for 40 years and we've shared many delights and traumas. Today I'm at my prayer friend's house, then I must start buying Christmas presents for my grandchildren. My daughter made me laugh last night when she texted that she'd frozen some babies. Hopefully her phone's speech function misheard her when she said Baileys, but I'll find out today.

Grandmabatty Tue 28-Nov-23 06:44:26

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 1° and icy. Car scraping will be required soon. RosiesMaw that sounds like a wonderful experience. I'm quite jealous. GrandMattie nearly there!
Yesterday the door men turned up on time, dealt with the redundant doorbell then fitted the wrong door! I had suspected as much but thought maybe there was a film over it. Nope. The factory mixed up the order and what should have been a black door was a rosewood door instead with black facings. Somebody must have had a bad day. Anyway the owner of the local company came round to apologise. In the meantime I have a new door on, just not the right colour.
Today dgs2 and I will judge the sloppiness of the pavement by going for a walk. Have a good day all

cornergran Tue 28-Nov-23 06:36:20

Morning Mick, morning All from a dry, dark corner of Somerset.

Another quiet day ahead other than a grocery delivery, I suspect lots of dozing in front of the tv. Think we’re both progressing although it feels one step forward and several back. My head feels full of damp sponge, Mr C says his has left his body. We’re having amusing and strange conversations as both of us have blocked ears and raggy throats.

One of ours is flying to Lithuania today, anyone else get unreasonably edgy until they know there’s been a safe landing? Daft woman here for sure.

Your renovations sound wonderful grandmattie. Good luck with your computer oops, irritatingly necessary things.

Have the best day you can everyone.

karmalady Tue 28-Nov-23 06:33:45

good morning, dry today in s somerset

Brisk flatter walk yesterday, then it rained as soon as I arrived home, amazing how quickly the sky can change. I cut the two tops out for my DDs and will start constructing today. My machine is coping very well as there are six thick thicknesses in some areas. Being in different rooms means that I am not feeling the cold, I seem to be following the sun

More of the same today and I want to order some special breakfast loose tea. I love a big china mug of that in the morning.

Have a god day

RosiesMaw Tue 28-Nov-23 06:31:47

Good morning all from N Bucks where it is COLD.
Today I am off to a dress rehearsal of Cavalleria Rusticana/Pagliacci (Cav&Pag) at the ROH Covent Garden. Very excited! I am meeting my sister in law who has a friend on the production team and has given her the tickets. Orchestra stalls too!
It means an early train as I have to be there by 10.30 and a friend has offered to drive me to the station because parking on a weekday can be a nightmare (and stressful finding a space), I'll get a taxi home this evening.
Another friend is seeing to Rosie who has now curled up beside me like a giant hottie, but I need to resist snuggling and GET UP
Wishing you all a pleasant and not too chilly day.

grandMattie Tue 28-Nov-23 06:15:39

Oops, the actual work has only taken just over 3 weeks but… it took me nearly 5 months to get permission from the management to do the work! It is that which has occupied a great deal of my waking hours.
All done now.

baubles Tue 28-Nov-23 06:11:18

Good morning from dark South Lanarkshire.

Lots of parcels dropped off and collected yesterday so quite a productive, though silent, day for me.

I’ve an appointment for blood tests later plus the flu jab later still, a pincushion day.

Wishing everyone the best day possible especially those with troubles.

RosesandLilac Tue 28-Nov-23 06:04:06

Good morning, I haven’t looked outside so no idea what the weather’s doing.
I had a lovely dog walk with a friend yesterday, got home before it rained so that was good.
I have some ironing to do this morning after dog walk, it’s going to be a quiet day again. Not a lot happening here!
I ought to think about getting something done towards Christmas I guess, I will dig out the cards and get writing a list.
Your renovations sounds amazing grandMattie, I’m so pleased it’s all gone well after the initial frustrations.
Take care everyone 🌹

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 28-Nov-23 05:58:53

GM so pleased that you are nearing the end of building works, it must seem a very long time since you started.

harrigran Tue 28-Nov-23 05:57:55

Good morning Mick from a frosty NE, the full moon shining through the blinds woke me at 5am.
I got all my washing and ironing done yesterday and spent some time looking at bathroom and kitchen fittings online, need to be able to discuss choices with plumber when he comes on Thursday.
Managed an hour on the sofa with my book before preparing dinner.
Today will be just general housework and putting away the laundry.
Have a good day.

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 28-Nov-23 05:57:26

Good morning Mick and all who follow, next year Mick I’m sure you will be able to join your old friends for trips.
I haven’t looked out of the curtains yet as I’ll wake the dog up and she will want to go out, so I’m keeping very quiet so that she thinks I’m still asleep.
I’ll make MissOops a cottage pie this morning, she will take it with her when she collects the dog. Apart from that I have computer issues, the dreaded black screen, I’ll continue to try to clear it, but it might mean a new PC which is an expensive pain in the b*m.
Have a good day everyone and let’s hope it’s a sunny day as I have several trees that were full of leaves to sweep up.

grandMattie Tue 28-Nov-23 05:53:59

Good morning from Bristol. Been awake since silly o’clock drinking (decaf) coffee and reading. No idea what the weather is like.
Yesterday was a loooong day. The flooring man arrives at about 945 (not figured out why he starts so late), made a lot of noise lining the floor with plywood, the laid the laminate. The poor man stopped at 2010, still not finished. He will put in the door strips this morning.
The hall looks fabulous, twice the size and so fresh; incredible what a difference removing that “silly” cupboard, the length of the hall, has made. Still debating what storage to put in - cupboards, shelves, hangers for coats? All of the above?
Today, briefly more flooring man, then the skirting boards to be done. All finished bar painting the doors white…
My lovely plumber is coming to close the project and decide how much I have left to pay. He bought extra stuff for me, I paid for stuff for him…
I’m getting on well with my boat quilt. Carrying on today.
Hope all goes well with everyone today. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
