Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is -2°C.

I hope your contraption helps Mizuna and that was some bargain, Lulu.
Baubles, DH is the same as you, but I have no sympathy for him.😉. For six months I have had no voice and he has used it as an excuse for not doing things. It is called Karma! 🤣

I didn't have a good day yesterday, a good part of it was spent wallowing lying down, due to the recurrence of vertigo.
This morning, I am off to the surgery to be interrogated by medical students. That should be interesting.😉.

Wishing you all a pleasant day andcas always, best wishes for all who are struggling.

Grammaretto, please keep your snow to your side of the country! ☃️

Good morning everyone from a very cold and frosty Cambridge
Hope the new device helps with your walking mizuna
This morning DH and I are going into the city centre for a bit of festive shopping and a browse around the sights . Late afternoon the other GPs are coming over and we’re all going out for a meal - there’ll be 8 of us so it’ll be busy - I probably won’t get a word in 🤣
Hope everyone stays safe in the cold icy weather
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning all from a frosty Black country.
Happy St Andrew's day to all our Scottish grans 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿.
NannyJan DH paid £50 for his wax removal at Scrivens .
Mizuna hope the brace helps you.
We may pay a visit to the Christmas market today will see how DH feels when he gets up.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Morning Mick and All from a very cold South Bucks.

Setting off for Kitty’s neck of the woods to look after a relative whilst her husband has a pacemaker fitted. I’ve packed enough warm clothes to go on a Polar expedition 🌧️

fancythat Thu 30-Nov-23 07:48:17

Good morning from down South. It has snowed overnight. Nothing too heavy.
I hope it goes well today for your DH Baubles.

I have the dubious honour of cleaning where I volunteer to, today. Including bathroom. The bathroom is not used a lot. Marigolds at the ready

Whitewavemark2 Thu 30-Nov-23 07:43:35

Good morning from a cold South Downs. 1c.

Engineer coming to fix washing machine. I think it might be just a holding job though, will think about a new one after Christmas. Then off to the vets for Duncan for his check-up after starting metacam, which has made an enormous difference. Drop into the PO and get the Christmas card stamps Then back for the Sainsbury delivery.

This time of year it is lists, lists and more lists.

mizuma hope your gadget helps you to be more mobile.

Peace and harmony to all

Good morning from a below freezing Colchester which is white with a thick frost. Another dry day forecast with a high of 5° but dropping to minus 4 overnight.
It's 10 years ago today that I was at my first Gransnet meetup in Edinburgh....how time flies.
Today brings laundry and housework.
We are seeing comedian Geoff Norcott in our local arts centre this evening. It's a cosy venue but the walk there and back will be a cold one.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from a -1 W Kent. Last art group for a couple of months so we are having some food and drink and a lot of chat. Went to get a turkey crown yesterday and found the butcher had a hamper deal so came home with turkey, sausage meat, bacon, 4 chicken legs, 4 pork chops and 6 eggs for £23 I didn’t think that was a bad deal.
Keep warm everyone

GrannyGravy13 Thu 30-Nov-23 07:28:54

Morning all it’s currently -1 and very frosty here in S E Essex.

I am off to Lakeside shopping centre with DD today, we will have lunch somewhere in between gift shopping.

Hope your new leg brave helps you Mizuna
Susan56 I also started decorating the house yesterday, managed to get the tree up in the dining room (we have a real one in the lounge so that will be in a couple of weeks)

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

kittylester Thu 30-Nov-23 07:24:16

Good morning all from an extremely cold North Leicestershire.

Prompted by Maw's thread, we are off on the hunt for a prelit tree. I have to go to the butcher's and Waitrose too.

Grammaretto Thu 30-Nov-23 07:14:37

St Andrew has sent us snow for his special day. Not great for my visitor's return north but staying one more day should be fine although she won't want to do the same things I do: chiropractor, yoga and ceilidh dancing grin

I enjoy my bus rides too Mizuna and meet interesting people. I hope you get on well with your new contraption

You'll be pleased gMattie to have your flat to yourself when the workers finish.
I have a call out to the electrician to change a light bulb! amongst other things as it's very high and I would need to stand on a tall stepladder and stretch.

Hoping everyone has the best day possible.

NannyJan53 Thu 30-Nov-23 07:11:07

Good morning from a very cold Black Country, where the cars are covered in a thick frost.

Walking for Health walk this morning, where we usually have a coffee in the cafe at the end.

Mum's hearing appointment yesterday discovered she has wax in one ear again ! Three times this year. So another £70 to have it sorted. The Practice Nurse used to do this. It's another slide into privatization of the NHS.

Wishing you all a good day.

Ashcombe Thu 30-Nov-23 07:08:32

Good morning from a chilly, breezy Torbay. Must be my old bones (plus poor circulation?) as I’m feeling the cold more this year, especially at night, despite layers and bedsocks! I believe there is snow on Dartmoor.

Your knee brace (?) sounds interesting, Mizuna, and I hope you find it helps. Yes, I enjoy the sociability of bus or rail travel but would miss my car, especially for travelling to and fro my beloved theatre! (and France, of course - need the car for supplies required by DH, especially wine on the journeys home!)

Keep warm, whatever you do! 🦩🥰❄️💐🦩

Greyduster Thu 30-Nov-23 07:05:05

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where we have - shock horror - a light covering of snow. It wasn’t in any of the forecasts but I commented to DD last night that if the temperatures lifted, it wouldn’t surprise me if we had some. Anyway it’s enough to deter me from joining the walking group this morning, but if the roads are clear later I will drive over to DDs for lunch and then do some shopping. I had my eyes tested yesterday and it’s the first time I’ve had to say “I can’t read any of that” to some of the eye charts. I really struggled, but he says my prescription has not changed significantly. We’ll have to see.
Happy St Andrew’s Day to all our Scottish grans.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Susan56 Thu 30-Nov-23 06:54:06

Good morning from Shropshire where a dry day is forecast.

While DH was in town yesterday I made a start on putting the Christmas decorations up.Earliest we have ever decorated but had the time and with a busy time ahead thought why not🎄

Today we will drive over to Cheshire to see my mum.Lunch out then shopping.

I hope the new gadget brings some relief Mizuna.

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

RosesandLilac Thu 30-Nov-23 06:51:57

Good morning! -3° feeling like -7° here on the edge of the Cotswolds, the car is solidly frosted white and the road looks icy.🥶
I enjoyed my manicure yesterday, my nails grew very quickly.
Today is housework and ironing, nothing exciting.
I wonder f we’ll get any sleet or snow? We’re higher here than Brecon in the Brecon Beacons.
Take care and stay warm 🌹

baubles Thu 30-Nov-23 06:50:22

Good morning from cold and frosty South Lanarkshire. It has felt very wintery these past few days.

I’m still feeling a bit off colour and although my voice has improved it alternates between a a growl and a squeak.

Good luck with your new contraption Mizuna.

DH has a hospital visit today to see the respiratory consultant. He’ll have an X-ray first so that the doctor can check how his lung is healing after his bout of pneumonia.

This evening it’s my yarn group, we’ve had to change the venue, which also necessitated a change of evenings, and will now meet in the wool shop where the owner sometimes runs classes so has enough space for us all.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Jaxjacky Thu 30-Nov-23 06:30:31

Morning, my phone says it’s 0 in S Hants and dry.
Yesterday was a housework morning, afternoon walk, then hurrah, retrieving MrJ’s car.
Must find and wrap a present for friends we’re meeting for lunch on Sunday and sort cards, I don’t like writing them until December. I can also get my advent calendar ready for tomorrow, cottage pie to make for dinner.
Good luck with your gizmo Mizuna
🦩🦩

Forgot! Happy St. Andrew’s day to our Scottish grans ❤️

karmalady Thu 30-Nov-23 06:04:37

Good morning from s somerset, we are properly heading into winter now, cold and maybe a snow flurry here

I need to give my stove a clean this morning, it did its job yesterday but there is always ash to remove and a glass door to clean. I think I will rely on my central heating for a bit now, keeping the stove fuel for the very cold months, just in case.

I was de-boning my mackerel yesterday and thinking that life is too short for this, one more boney mackerel is left in the freezer and after that I will be buying the prepared fillets

There is a top to finish sewing today, should take about two hours in all, then a good clean of my sewing room. I need also to plod on with my knitting, just a very simple jumper this time but wool makes such a good difference to my body temperature. I am hoping to get a brisk walk today, without the steep hill

Have a good day

grandMattie Thu 30-Nov-23 06:04:06

Good morning from a frosty Bristol. Low single figures again, at least it isn’t raining/sleeting.
Had a very quiet day yesterday, doing Spanish homework, various bits of administration, etc.
While sorting some paperwork out, I found two forms, one for me, one for my plumber, requiring us to sign and post after work is finished…. Posting it to the plumber as he was work coordinator.
Busier today; tai chin the morning and dinner with DD and family. add has a PCC meeting and SiL has a jazz band practice - he is a trombonist - so I’m staying on to keep an eye on the girls.
Hope things are ok with everyone, the poorly, the heavy of heart…. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Mizuna Thu 30-Nov-23 06:01:56

Good morning from Cornwall where there's heavy rain and it's 0° for a change. Came back from the hospital yesterday with a fancy new gadget for my leg, with six straps, requiring an engineering qualification to put it on. It's very snug and will take a bit of getting used to but hopefully enable me to jettison one crutch.

On the way home the bus hit a low wall in the dark and so we all crammed on to another already full bus. Such an interesting journey, initially sitting next to a colourful guy who told me about his XL bully dog and showed me pictures of it, then a University student from Bristol with hair naturally the colour of flame who told me about her politics course. I wouldn't go back to the isolation of having a car for the world. Today a much needed haircut at my hairdresser daughter-in-law's, where I'll stay for tea with my youngest grandchildren.
