Good morning from a (as monk says) very frosty and misty Black Country. I don't think my car defrosted at all yesterday.

No real plans today, just go with the flow. Housework probably, I do it once a week whether it needs it or not

Lovely that you and kitty had a meet up NanKate. I remember going to a meet in I think Market Drayton? where I met you Kitty amongst others. I am thinking of organising a meet in Birmingham in the new year. There used to be quite a crowd. Last one I went to (before Covid) there was just the two of us.

Anyhoooo....just a thought.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s -5 according to Alexa. 45 years ago it was almost as cold on my wedding day. It started to snow as I arrived at the church.
I had promised myself a run out in the car up in the dale or a trip into York on the train but as it’s so cold I think I will look for something nearer home to keep me busy!

GM, we have had no heating in our church for six weeks. The part has to come from Germany. I think someone is walking with it. Sometimes I am so cold, I feel ill, so I can sympathise.

After a ropey start but I was determined to go out, we had a lovely day with DD and SIL.
To save me walking, we took a circuitous route by bus and train. Instead of going home, DD persuaded us to come back on a different train route and join them in their village pub. This was way out my comfort zone, as I go rarely go anywhere!
You know that scene in cowboy films, where strangers walk into a saloon and everyone turns and stares at them? 😂 In fact, once they recognised SIL, they were very welcoming.

DH is an awkward so and so, ( isn't keen on taxis), so we got a bus home, from right outside the door,
The driver asked us if we were going to a certain pub, because his route was different from the usual one and he would be turning off the main road.
I said that were actually going his way, but it was a pity there were no bus stops. ( It's a long, country road,)
Just tell me where you live and I will drop you off, he said.
What a kind young man, especially as I was struggling.
Today, I am fit for nothing! My joints are so painful, due to the cold an unaccustomed exercise. I got a shock, when I looked at my Fitbit!

Good morning from my bit of very cold South Lanarkshire.

Mick, no bank at awful in a good size town, that will be really difficult for many people.

I enjoyed my day at home yesterday and did get a few tasks completed but off out again today for lunch at our local golf club with three former colleagues. The food there is good and the view over the course and our small local loch is really lovely.

I’ll need to walk there because I can’t manage the drive over the snow and ice in our estate and I’m not really looking forward to that but I have metal attachments for my boots so best foot forward and not upward I hope!

Oh I wish, Mick! Roll on Spring! Although the 'permafrost' is looking very pretty here on the Angus coast. It was -3° during the night and Jack Frost has been painting icy pictures in the outside of the north-facing windows.
Safe journey to Wales today RoseandLilac, and safe journeys to everyone out and about.
Yesterday I had what I call a 'scattered' day and couldn't pin myself down to achieve anything. I'd start to do something then remember something else I should be doing and go and start that, before thinking of something else etc etc etc. I achieved the sum total of a pot of soup!
So today I am disregarding all duty and meeting up with a friend for lunch at The Scottish Antique Centre. I was going to say appropriately enough - and it is for me! - but my friend is only 60 and young enough to be my daughter, so I won't say it😉. Anyway it will be a good natter, a lovely lunch and another opportunity for some Christmas shopping in the modern part of the shop, which usually has some unusual stock. Then home before dark for Strictly and a bowl of soup.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently -2° and snowy. Happy anniversary Alygran.
Yesterday was my village's Christmas tree light on. There were stalls, etc and a brass band as well as other Christmas music. It was very busy and the tree is lovely.
I woke up in the night to snow falling. It's a couple of inches at least and looks as if it'll be on for a while. My plans have been cancelled. I should have been meeting a pal for breakfast but I'm not driving in snow of I can avoid it. So a chicken to roast, Christmas cards to write and presents to wrap will be the order of the day.

Good morning.
All the trees for the festival were being set up yesterday .W will pop down today to see them all. It will be less busy than tomorrow picture is of our Craft club tree. A little pale as the sun was shining on it. All made with cotton reels.
The other is the WI tree.
Otherwise today I will do some baking and on line shopping and a little sewing.

Good morning everyone from Severnside. It’s extremely frosty and misty. Your sons car looks happy though Mizuna.

I decided not to venture out into the cold yesterday apart from pegging out the washing. My friend came by on her way home from town. She had a lot to say about her husband. I have my own thoughts but best to keep my lips zipped. I also have to find my way through not getting upset when things are said about my own life doings.
I’m going to have a late breakfast this morning with sausage butties.
I plan to finish off making my Christmas cards today and then I can grout the pieces of mosaic that I did when I was at Beechnutella’s last weekend. Once that’s out of the way I can think about my next craft projects.

Morning from a frosty -2 S E Essex 🥶

I have to pop to the local Aldi for a few bits, then I shall be sorting and wrapping Christmas gifts. I must also write Christmas cards (mine are usually in the post by now)

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. Yesterday I had an appointment for a CT Scan at RBH, but early on received a phone call from the Volunteer Drivers Association, that unfortunately my driver was ill and couldn't take me. Panic, anyway I managed to get there in time. Due to being on blood thinners, I bled quite a bit from the cannula site, but it did stop.
Still waiting for my washing machine repair, now due on Monday. It's surprising how quickly the laundry mounts up, and how my lovely machine is taken for granted.
I will have to go shopping later, as I used most of the veg for soup making in the week. But oh how lovely to have a soup stash in the freezer. Also need to make another batch of Mamade.
Our previous neighbours, who moved to Cornwall earlier this year, sent us photos of the snow in Looe this week. I didn't realise that Cornwall had snow!
Love the cotton reel tree Ginny. How clever some people are.

Good morning from Oxfordshire where it’s -5 and foggy. Again.

Nothing much happening today, I will write the Christmas cards later to post next week and then sort Christmas gifts for the Grandchildren as we are meeting them next Sunday, I will have a week then to get any extra bits and pieces.

I will have to cancel my shopping delivery of Christmas bits on Monday as MrOops went out and came home loaded with Artisan bread, it’s all in the freezer. Heavens knows why he did that, he went out for coffee, anyway it’s filled our extra freezer so no room now for my delivery. Grrrrrr.

Very heavy frost but the sun is trying to pierce the mist so the field beyond the garden looks mystical. Village Christmas fair this afternoon and I will be on duty in the church where the range of trees produced by various local organisations demonstrates great imagination. We are offering hot drinks and some simple crafts for small children so might be quite busy. Hope so, because so many people will have put a lot of effort into the event and it is usually such fun

Hope the weather doesn’t spoil the day for anyone and that plans work out safely.

DS came over yesterday and put lights around my garden trellis archway in the front. They have a remote control and look really nice. He always does a few jobs for me.

I’m off soon to a village Xmas fair. Trying not to have the expensive ch on too much for one person is fiddly, moving between warming the house up and halogen heaters. Many layers of clothes.

Good morning from a snowy NE.
The heating is on continuously trying to keep the house warm.
Binmen didn't come yesterday, they reached the adjacent street but decided it was too dangerous to proceed. I can remember the 1950s when bins were carried on the shoulders to be emptied, wading through knee deep snow.
Sister and BIL will visit this afternoon as will DS and GD2.
Hope the roads are safe for DS to drive as he lives in the countryside in County Durham.
The plumber said he would email invoice and quote to me, I watched him type it and press send as he did it on his phone. Email never arrived, he must have made a mistake in my address, sent a message to the company and asked them to send paper copies. Can't have any more delays, I have been waiting 18 months for toilet repair.

Good morning from a still snowy Durham. No more has fallen, but there’s no thaw.
Shocked to wake yesterday to a message from DD2 that she admitted to A&E at 4am! She said there was nothing anyone could do, so hadn’t wanted to bother me because of the weather and added that she was off her ‘t*ts on morphine!
Anyway, monitored for 24 hours and although they wanted to keep her in for the weekend, she came home last night with a
Plan and prescriptions and went straight to bed, exhausted.
Meanwhile, I have DGS1 here after a planned sleepover. I’ll take him home at 2pm, then visit DD2 and get the rest of the story.

Good morning everyone from a very frosty Northampton, -2°C outside. I'm late this morning as I slept till 9am, unheard of for me! So I've come straight on to write and will go back and read your 'doings' later.

Blood test went well yesterday morning and the results were texted to me in the afternoon! All normal thank goodness.

Had a nice browse around the shops - funny that two jumpers managed to fall off the rails and into my shopping bag.... one in Next, and the other in Sainsbury's.....

Two missed calls from the surgery while I was out which was rather worrying, but when I called back after arriving home was told it was the physio, and she/he will call back.

Had a long call from a friend yesterday and had a long catch-up - sadly she has had cancer this year, had surgery, and as they caught it early the outlook is good. She had had no symptoms, but a random blood test showed something concerning, which led to investigations. Funnily enough I had been thinking of her not 10 minutes before she called and made a mental more to call on Sunday (our usual call day).

Plans today are to settle down after lunch and write the Christmas cards, usually do them the first Sunday in December, but will be out at the cinema tomorrow. Think I have now bought all the presents; DS, DD and their partners are getting money, - mainly because I have no idea what to get - and I have got almost everything for the DGDs. Ordered younger DGD's present from Amazon yesterday.

A pile of washing up awaits, then must shower and dress.

Pepper steak for dinner tonight, (and a red wine!)
