We watched "Two Doors Down" and were highly amused by the references to local retailers. None of the info was accurate.
Christine reminded me of the Ebay Queen they are cast from the same mould. She drives workmen mad.😉

Late to post as staying with friends and just got connected to their Wi-Fi. We drove north yesterday through alternating frosted wonderland and foggy damp and cold. Your photos capture it well Alygran.

We are now in the Wirral where it has warmed up and is raining instead. Actually, just looked out and it may have stopped so may grab the opportunity for a short walk.

Sorry to hear you have the nausea back, Marydoll. Such a miserable condition. I hope it will recede and give you a break.

I hope your grand opening ceremony goes/has gone well, Grandmattie. I thought of you while watching the sitcom “Two Doors Down” on Friday - new bathrooms were the nub of the episode 😂

We are planning to drive on to Scotland tomorrow but will check the snow reports first. Stay safe and warm everyone.

A quick in and out for me today as I slept late (oh joy!) and don't have time to read your posts.
So good morning from the Winter Wonderland that NE Angus-by-the-sea has become. It's 1°, set to rise to the giddy heights if 3° later. So beautiful to look at - but driving through a blizzard yesterday was not part of my plan! I left home in bright sunshine after chatting for a while in the garden with Lovely Gardener. As I drove along the lane to the main road I noticed the sky was very black but of course realised that any bad weather was moving away from me. 10 minutes later came the first few snowflakes. 10 minutes after that I was driving very slowly through a white-out! I don't know why I didn't turn back - except I have a bit of Clive Myrie's "I've started so I'll finish" in me. Whatever, I was right! There was no snow at my destination. At. All. Crazy! After a lovely lunch and the purchase of some more Christmas gifts there was still no snow there, and the snow ploughs and gritters had done a good job on the route home, so I'm glad my obstinacy won out over caution!
Today is Tai Chi paperwork day - again - and then a head down and slog through the day's to do list. First of all, though, I must replenish the bird food!

Good morning from a snowed in Eden . Power cuts jackknifed lorries and people in village halls everywhere.
It will be all clear in the west where we are really from. maybe the next move should be to the West.

Day 3 on the advent calendar

Good morning from the NE where we have even more snow, so thick on the road you can't hear the crunch of car tyres.
Busy day yesterday cooking for family, they left earlier than normal because it was -2 and looking bad on the estate.
Thanks for your concern grandMattie, the problem is with the en suite and I do have another bathroom.
SIL is supposed to be coming for his dinner, roast beef and all the trimmings but I will have to wait and see if the roads are okay.
Just had a photo sent by sister, she fell when going to bed and has an enormous black eye. It is a worry because she lives alone in another country.

Good morning from a still heavily covered Glasgow , thankfully the roads are clear. I am having difficulty typing as I sliced my finger last night whilst cutting cheese, the keyboard won’t accept a bandaged finger. The cat snuggled beside me isn’t much help either hitting my iPad with her paw.

I am waiting to hear from DD1 to let me know if the gymkhana is still going ahead, if so, DH has suggested I take a hottie bottle with me. 🥶

I haven’t been out , but I think things are thawing , the washing will be on the clothes horse , I m going nowhere , no Mass in our Chapel, it’s in the smaller chapel up a long country road , I got Mass last night on the iPad , a great discovery during Covid

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. It has been raining here, but at least the frost has gone.
Church this morning and then home to mix all the prepared ingredients and pop the christmas cake in the oven. Also some Mamade to make, as we are on the last jar, and a chicken casserole to prepare. Busy, busy.
WWM2, Tomorrow our washing machine should be repaired 🤞and then catch up on a small mountain of laundry. How we miss them when they are not working!
BonnyBanko, thanks for putting me out of my misery. I never would have worked out who you used to be.

Was so tired after yesterday’s efforts I slept for nine hours, unheard of here, so am ready for a good day which will include a musical afternoon with tea. Much less cold this morning though grey skies suggest quite a lot of rain is likely.

Hope the sufferers have a better day and that everyone’s plans work out satisfactorily.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s -1°C damp out from a slight flurry of snow at midnight. Sunday lunch is teatime today. My stepfather fancies a curry and the restaurant doesn’t open till 4pm. Once we mentioned our plans were curry the little family asked to join - so the big round table has been booked for 7 at teatime! Nice.

TBH the temp must be rising as the overnight snow is receding and the roads are black.
Off home in an hour or so as the alternatives involved either watching from an chilly Moseley rugby touchline or an equally perishing Villa one! !
(Training for both boys as the ground is too hard for a match )
I’ll be glad to see Rosie too - I wonder how she’s enjoying zoomies round the kennels paddock in the snow?.
This is Luna, D’s very beautiful “working” cocker, not sure what work she does other than retrieve trainers and slippers, but a very sweet dog.

Good morning Mick and everyone from chilly, dull Carlisle where it is -1°C. The thin layer of snow we had yesterday had melted by dusk but, in view of the temperature, I suspect the wet-looking road and pavements are icy. I'm not planning to go out and check.
I stayed in yesterday too, in the end I didn't fancy a paper enough to go out in the falling snow and get one. Instead, I whipped through a little overdue housework then settled down to the tedious business of setting up the new hifi. To my amazement, it's working! But working it is complicated, it does so much, being connected to the internet. So far, I have mastered playing CD's. In this, it is brilliant, never has Widor's Toccata sounded so good...More learning today and some rearrangement of my furniture has become necessary plus I will take the opportunity of finishing cataloguing the CD's, there are a lot.
I'm also in the middle of sorting out and doing a part cull of my large postcard collection. I found a touching one from my dear father, addressed to my sister and myself, written in the fifties when he was en route to Hong Kong on a troopship. The only example I have of him writing anything, all that was usually left to my Mum.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Still a winter wonderland here and I am busy warning potential visitors to avoid my driveway today.

I took DD and the DGD to see the Snow Queen yesterday. We all enjoyed it. The children live in the Highlands so part of the treat was the train journey to Edinburgh.

Good morning Mick and all from a cold and cloudy northwest coast.
Perfect day yesterday. Out to Christmas fair in the next pretty village. It looked so nice with its frosty icing. I bought stocking fillers etc, then had lunch in the adjoining park.
In the evening, I forced myself out from the warmth and Netflix to an orchestral concert the other side of town. A good turn out considering the weather. I like to sit at the front and feel part of things, so was practically under the conductor’s baton. He’s what my daughter calls “a big unit” so obscured my view of the soloist…
The composer should have left the symphony we heard after the interval in the drawer, not a success and deservedly little known.
I will finish off card painting today. Thoughts to all with worries, keep warm and have the best day you can🌺

Good morning everyone from a chilly south Hants. I must sort through my Christmas decorations this morning and make a start on the sitting room. I don’t bother anywhere else other than the conservatory which doubles up as a dining room when needs must.
