Good Morning Everyone,
A dark and cold start with signs of overnight snow etc.
Yesterday I caught the bus to Bicester and just had an hour there , they had a Victorian Xmas market on but due to the cold people were not hanging about .
Today a easy day indoors keeping warm and dry .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and all who follow.
MrOops is out for lunch so I’m going to see daughter and Nephew, I’ll bring dog back with me for her regular Sunday night sleep over, when I collect MrOops.
We are due some rain today, let’s hope it warms up, we had freezing fog all day yesterday and it was extremely cold.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from Bristol. I peeked out and no frost was visible.
Church, then DD and family to lunch after which we’ll have the Grand Opening, then tea and cake. Should be fun. I have to finish the squash soup I started yesterday, and set the table.
I’m ashamed of my whinging, harri, I only had a few months with bathroom problems. You’ve had 18 months! How did you ever manage?
Is the returning, missing person, the one whose name had Manx connections? I’m very thick on such things.
May today bring peace to all. Remember your act of random kindness…. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Cornwall where it's raining and windy. My son and co are staying in a lodge near a frozen lake in east Cornwall and he sent me this photo. It looks like sheets of plastic but is in fact ice.

Today I'll stay at home, trying to work out how to fit a small desk in so I can resume my writing properly. Later I'll meet my other son and his 14-year-old for an early supper at Wetherspoon's. (Welcome back east Fife lady whose new name I can't remember from yesterday!)

Good morning from warmer s somerset, with the attached rain and cloud

Messages went around town yesterday, about the ice skating rinks in town and on the way into town. It was a good decision to stay indoors but I did get a bit bored later in the day. It was like a pre-curser to a cold winter and it gave me a few ideas on what I should do, to stay cosy and occupied. I hope there won`t be another 6 weeks of being snowed in, as in 2010. At least then I had my husband to talk to

I am taking the car out later, I feel a trip to waitrose coming on and any goodies I buy will be immediately stashed out of sight. I will get a paper and will spend the rest of the day doing a bit of this and a bit of that. I do like some positivity, so I can go to bed and know that I have made something or other. Skirt waistband will do for today

Have a good day

RosesandLilac Sun 03-Dec-23 06:41:53

Good morning from the Brecon Beacons where we’re staying for a week 😊
Yesterday’s journey wasn’t fun, black ice and freezing fog to start with, we stopped at Crickhowell for a late lunch where it was unbelievably cold 🥶🥶
The skies cleared as we came further across thankfully.
We thoroughly enjoyed an evening listening to Bach’s Christmas Oratorio in Brecon Cathedral, a fabulous production.
The cottage we’re staying in is beautifully warm and comfortable, it has everything we need. I suspect we’re in for a week of grotty weather but well prepared for it.
Take care everyone 🌹

Morning Mick, morning All. Dark and damp out there. The frosty, foggy beauty of yesterday has gone

Still covid positive Mr C seems to alternate energised and exhausted days. He says he feels better hmm. Stereo coughing remains, I’m more than fed up with feeling horrid and would seriously like to be able to do something - anything.

Sorry, I’m moaning. On the positive side our Wonder Woman is getting stronger and much more comfortable, we’re very relieved. It will be a very special Christmas for them.

Enjoy today grandmattie. I’m sure it will be fun and your renovations much admired.

Hope Sunday is kind to us all.

Good morning from a wet Torbay where the temperature is no longer freezing.

I’m glad you arrived safely, RosesandLilac, with a concert for your first evening to lift your spirits. Wonderful!
Congratulations on the grand opening, grandMattie!
It must be frustrating for you and your DH, cornergran, so I think you’re entitled to moan!
A superb photo, Mizuna!

Yesterday, the four of us who turned up at the theatre left it looking very festive with one large Christmas tree in the foyer with a more modest one in the coffee shop and two smaller ones bedecking window sills in the bar. Presents adorn the base of each, garnered from props for various plays over the years. I must take some photos when I’m there for the Technical Rehearsal this afternoon for Cranford at Christmas.

I’m playing the piano for the early service at church so a busy day awaits.

Wishing everyone a blessed Advent Sunday. 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from the winter wonderland that is South Yorkshire. We have a good three inches of snow and I suspect it won’t be going anywhere soon. So, a day in for me - or two or three! A chance to get all those odd indoor jobs sorted out.
Have the best day you can, folks. Stay safe.

Good morning everyone from a still dark nd wet Northampton, 2°C outside; felt very cold when I ventured out of bed.
Up early this morning as I have a chicken casserole to prepare for the slow cooker before I go out later this morning. And a nice sausage butty to have before I go.
I'm meeting a friend at our art-house cinema at mid-day to see the new 'Napoleon' film, and need to get a bus around half past 10.

Spent yesterday afternoon writing my Christmas cards, all done now, just the stamps to get and then they'll be in the post. It was quite a pleasant afternoon, Christmas music playing, a glass of sherry by my side... I have three or four cards that need letters, but I have decided to e-mail instead.

Trying to write this with a cat on my knee - she is like a live furry hot-water bottle!

Hope all goes well today grandMattie!

Wishing all a pleasant Sunday.

Good morning from a wet Severnside. It was raining when I came to bed and mostly forecast for the week ahead. It should be warmer though.

I had a good time card making yesterday. The majority are all similar as I thought that was easier to do. I’ve some holes to drill into some pieces of wood today. I’m going to make some tree decorations with them, an idea I got from a stall at a craft fayre. I won’t be selling mine.

Enjoy your roasts everyone 🌺🍖🥬

Grandmabatty Sun 03-Dec-23 07:32:54

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently -2° and the snow is still thick on the ground. GrandMattie enjoy your official opening! Ash that sounds very festive. Cornergran I hope the effects pass soon. RosesandLilac what a wonderful start to your holiday.
Yesterday was a day for indoors. The snow was thick and followed by freezing fog. I pottered about the house and got all the washings done and the cleaning too. It was a quiet day with almost nobody passing.
Today I'll walk to Aldi for a few bits. I'll clear the car and path of snow at some point. I'm not sure if I'll visit mum as I really hate driving in snow. Have a good day all

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where we have freezing fog. The road looks like sheet ice.

Great photo Mizuna.

I hope you both feel better soon corner, glad to hear that your DD is doing well.

Your evening sounds heavenly Roses.

I wrote some cards last night but have run out so will have to restock.

Church this morning but no lunch out afterwards as our yarn group are assembling our giant Christmas tree this afternoon.

Have the best day possible everyone.

kittylester Sun 03-Dec-23 07:39:11

Good morning all from North Leicestershire where we have about 1" of snow.

There is a theory that we are singing outside at a local food fair. Probably not going to happen.

Keep warm and have the best day possible everyone.

Georgesgran Sun 03-Dec-23 07:39:52

Good morning from Durham. A Winter Wonderland here too, with more snow overnight. I haven’t heard a single vehicle out on the main road yet, so my plans for today are cancelled. Luckily, I’ve plenty to get on with and a well stocked fridge, but I’m going to stay in bed for a while until the house warms up.
Please stay safe and warm.
Best wishes to all. X

Marydoll Sun 03-Dec-23 07:44:00

Good morning all from a chilly Glasgow, where it's 1°C. Thank goodness there is no more snow, we were stuck in yesterday.

I laughed yesterday, when I received PMs, requesting the identity of the mysterious returner. There was nothing sinister, she had been locked out of GN.😂

I hope the grand opening goes well, GM. It's lovely when the family are all together.

Today, I have to go down to Mass, very poor planning means three different lots of school children will be involved in activities at 10am Mass. Our P.P is not good at forward planning.
I suspect carnage will ensue in the snowy car park, the salt squad never turned up yesterday and both car parks will not accommodate the numbers expected today.
I will need my hard hat and high viz vest! 😉
At least I will see my beloved Dollie. I also have DIL's birthday gifts to hand over. We couldn't get up yesterday, due to the snow.

I'm afraid DH will haul out the Christmas trees, while I am out. I really don't have the stamina nor patience to deal with it.
My nausea is back with a vengeance, it is so debilitating.

Corner, I hope you feel better soon.

The theme for the first week of Advent this year is Hope, have a lovely Sunday.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 03-Dec-23 07:48:02

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I’m still tucked up in bed in the spare room. I think elder son is downstairs having a Chinese lesson on line and granddaughter may still be in bed.
We will visit our local enormous farm shop later.
Meatballs and pasta for lunch. Ice cream for pudding?
Have a good day.

Jaxjacky Sun 03-Dec-23 07:48:25

Morning from a balmy +4 in S Hampshire, freezing fog yesterday, so a quiet day indoors. First present wrapped as we’re meeting friends for lunch, a new place for us to try, as I chose it I’m fingers crossed.
Have a lovely week RosesandLilac.
Enjoy today gMattie a fitting occasion after your project.
Not surprised you’re fed up corner it must be so frustrating for you.
Have a lovely Sunday all.

Stilllearning Sun 03-Dec-23 07:49:27

Good morning from a still dark South Lanarkshire, -2 degrees.

I hope your. Grand Opening is fun grandMattie, what a good idea to make an occasion of it, After a hard time uprooting yourself and facing this new challenge, you’ve firmly established yourself as a member of the local community I really admire what you have achieved and am sure your day will go well.

I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch yesterday with my former colleagues, we worked together for years in a school for children with severe learning and physical difficulties. The staff worked as a team, Physio’s, Speech and Language and Occupational therapists as well as teachers and care staff. It was such a happy place and we always enjoy reminiscing as well as talking about our lives now.

RosesandLilac, your journey sounds horrendous, but the concert wonderful, enjoy your week.

Christmas cards today, I am determined to tick something off the list.

cornergran💐

Wishing everyone a pleasant Sunday.

brook2704 Sun 03-Dec-23 07:52:31

Good morning everyone from Cambridge where it still looks frosty but yesterdays fog seems to have cleared.
It’s DDs birthday today and our last day here so we’re out celebrating later this afternoon. If we can brave the cold I think someone mentioned a walk this morning so will wrap up warm and join in 🥶
Enjoy your holiday in your lovely warm cottage Roses and enjoy the change of scenery
Hope the grand opening goes well gmattie what a lovely thing to do
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Pittcity Sun 03-Dec-23 07:58:56

Good morning from rainy Braintree. Everyone is beginning to stir at DD2s.
We are having a fried breakfast while waiting to see if DGS3s football match is going ahead later.
Love to all 🦩 x

Whitewavemark2 Sun 03-Dec-23 08:10:18

Good morning from a much milder South Downs 8c and rain. Yesterday was freezing but no snow just a heavy frost.

Had a new washing machine delivered yesterday, as the perfectly serviceable old one needed a new part that couldn’t be got (some computer bit) for love nor money and no guarantee that it would be in the U.K. from Germany before Christmas😡😡😡. I could walk there and back in that time! What a waste of a good machine.
I then put on some wool and switched on the wrong programme and ended up with a jumper that would fit a 7 year old. Even more😡😡😡.

Hoping for a better day today😄.

Today I will be catching up with 10 days washing, and browsing on-line for a new jumper.

Stilton and mushroom pasta for supper.

Peace and harmony to all - seems some in the world haven’t got the message yet, but we live in hope.

Liberty Sun 03-Dec-23 08:10:44

Good morning from a frosty still bitterly cold Suffolk where it is predicted to get a bit warmer when the rain arrives later.

Apart from a dog walk after breakfast we will stay at home and enjoy the warmth. I have an all day meeting on Wednesday and a preparatory one tomorrow afternoon and have at least a day’s worth of reading to do before then so cards to write and presents to wrap will have to wait.

Hope today is an easy and restful one for all.

luluaugust Sun 03-Dec-23 08:13:13

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Another day of doing up presents and a warming lunch, otherwise all quite slow.
Best wishes to all

Good morning from Shropshire where we have snow☃️

Yesterday was busy!H did well in his nursery concert.DGD and I walked into town for sewing club where she made a lovely Christmas tree decoration.DH and H were late meeting me to watch the parade and ended up walking in the road as the pavements were so crowded.H was in his Santa costume and people thought he was the start of the parade so were clapping and cheering him🎅🏼🤣He kept his costume on all day🎅🏼

We had hoped to go to church for the Carol service today but will stay in as we don’t want to drive in the snow.Instead we will hopefully get Christmas cards written and more lists made🤯

Enjoy the grand opening grandMattie🍾🥂

I will be watching out for your weather reports from the Brecon Beacons Roses as we hope to be driving through that area later this week on the way to visit family.

Have the best day you can everyone and take care🎄🦩
