Indulgences ... do you have one?

Violet and rose chocolates. Chocolate covered marzipan. Love all Christmas food, a dangerous time for me…

Children’s books, especially pop up books.

I love slicing a good quality white loaf, toasting a few thick slices, covering in quality butter and marmalade! Perfect with a fresh coffee!!

I love Bombshell dresses! I've got 8, usually bought in the sale. They are beautifully designed, made in England and so flattering. They always attract admiring comments and I feel a million dollars when I'm wearing one.

Fenjal cream wash for me. I’ve used it for at least fifty years ever since my mil introduced me to it. It was originally a bath oil, it’s still available, but I love the cream wash. I used to buy the talc too, but unfortunately it’s not in production anymore.

Since my children are grown and finances after 50 are better, we really do have many small indulgences.

I often generalize that we can afford the thick bacon now, one of many small luxuries.

Nicer face creams, nice dark chocolate (Lindt is my favourite), I don't wait for birthdays to buy a bottle of perfume if I like it.

Also, DH and I have stayed in some nice hotels when we go on vacation. Generally we spend some time visiting family, but then fit a few days into a nice hotel. If you are ever on Vancouver Island, Kingfisher Oceanside Resort is really lovely.

Moschino - their first, original fragrance (Italian). I’ve been wearing it for 45 years. Nothing else seems to appeal to my chemistry.

Similar, I went in a hotel and used some Kenneth Taylor Blue Tangerine hand cream, it’s a wonderful smell, my husband buys it for me now.
Also Chocolates, Thorntons especially

That made me smile FgiS - I cant imagine the cheese tasting any better, no matter what it’s eaten from! Great cheese could be eaten from a paper plate surely?

I’m afraid it’s chocolate 🍫 that I shouldn’t really eat as type 2 diabetic and I know it . Black chocolate just isn’t quite the same !

Ooh dear I fear there's quite a lot. Ground coffee, Hotel Chocolate, Falke socks, Wentworth jigsaws - that's enough for now.

For me, it’s good quality tea is coffee (instant). I like Twining’s Strong English Breakfast or. Assam tea and Percol decaffeinated coffee.

Fabric -- Within the past year, I have started quilting and have bought so many beautiful fabrics.

Also Estée Lauder Private Collection…the original one. I’ve been wearing it since 1983 and have never found any perfume that comes close in suiting me.
I have a love of crystal and clear glass Christmas decorations, including Swarovski baubles and animals…my sons usually buy me beautiful ornaments at Christmas and it’s a joy to me to open the boxes every December and see them sparkle in the lights.

Clinique skincare, but I'm always on the look out for special offers and packs. Also yarn for my crochet. So many scarves, shawls and blankets that I don't need but I love the challenge of a new pattern. Just bought some Alpacha and some cashmere for a really complicated pattern which I will return to when I finish my Christmas mosaic blanket. At least DH says it keeps me quite apart from the muttering and occasional swearing.

Every other month I treat myself to a box of thirty five ‘choose your own’, fresh cream chocolates from a Belgian chocolatier. They are just the best chocolates ever, with a great selection of delicious centres and are such an indulgence. I don’t have an outlet near me, so having them shipped via Jersey is the next best thing. I earn loyalty points on my orders to use towards the next one, and postage is free, so I really enjoy waiting for my postie to bring my treat!

Sorry chicken you have already said it about the 5L. I think you maybe posted about it whilst I was checking that they still did it!

Not necessarily an indulgence but as Urmstongran the smell takes me back to past Christmas’s with my Mum.

About 30 years ago my daughter who was about 6 bought my Mum some Badedas for Christmas. It became a tradition that whatever my daughter bought her it always included Badedas.

When she died 10 years ago, I don’t know why but in the December I bought myself some Badedas. And I have now bought it every year since. It always brings back happy memories of my Mum and also my daughter as a young girl.

This was my father's favourite at Christmas.
