Hi we have been contacted by Tesco Cardigan about our expected grocery delivery today. Or should I say non delivery! Apparently they have "issues" within the store, have apologised and will send my money back within 3 - 5 days plus as a sorry £10 voucher. Well thank goodness I had a think about it! They said I could find another date/time and 're - order my cancelled one and I nearly did that and changed it to this Wed delivery. Then realised that potentially I would have two lots of money out ( a few Christmas goodies extra has pushed my shop up to more than usual).
Has anyone else had this experience? Does anyone know what the issues are?

Issues with Tesco

Yes, happened to me on about an hour’s email warning, no apology, no compensation. Customer services couldn’t care less. No chance of getting another slot within a week. I don’t use them now, having been b*ggered about once too much.

I think it must be up to individuals within Tesco Customer Services. Any problems I’ve ever had with my deliveries - e.g. short dated items - have been dealt with promptly and very apologetically. Refunds are paid in to my bank account very quickly.
In fact, the last time I phoned I got back not only the cost of the particular item I’d phoned about but the cost of a punnet of chestnut mushrooms that I was quite happy with date and condition wise and hadn’t mentioned during the phone call.

We have them weekly and not had this problem. But I was impressed when we had one punctured can of beer in a boxful and they immediately refunded the whole box.

When I had a similar issue some time back they contacted us, apologised, offered a delivery the next day and can us £10 compensation. If I have ever had to contact their help line they have been extremely professional and helpful. I've been with them years and have been impressed with the service.
Once when we were both ill and I did an online order and wondered why it hadn't come and rang up found that I had clicked the click and connect button instead of home delivery. They explained my mistake and said they could give me a home delivery slot the next afternoon. Unfortunately, because we have no one to help us we had literally run out of all essentials. The help desk said they would ring me back, 10 minutes later they said they had phoned the ma ager of my local store and explained my situation. He had said if I felt well enough to drive they would reopen the click and collect, which had been closed for 2 hours. When I got there there were two members of staff waiting who wouldn't even let me get out of the car but carefully put my groceries in the boot and back seat. Wished me and my husband a speedy recovery and were all smiles. What more can I say.x

I have always found them extremely helpful - and if you ring customer services they are great. I have only had a delayed delivery once in all the years I have used them - and that was because the van broke down. I can forgive them that!

My son' been out delivering for Tesco round Windsor and Ascot and hasn't mentioned any issues so I presume it must have been a local problem.

I know it must be an awful nuisance, however you don't know if staff have failed to turn up or what issues they have.

At the height of the pandemic when it was very difficult to get a slot I emailed the CEO executive team, explaining I was a long term disabled customer. Within a few hours I had an email from a named person asking me for my login script and clubcard number. By the end of the day I was set up with a special priority facility to log in. Ok it meant the delivery could arrive at any time within about 3 hours but at least I got a quick response and a guaranteed delivery. I dont drive and there are no shops anywhere near where I live so click and collect is not an option.

Being ill for a long time has meant I’ve had to do a lot of my grocery shopping online and apart from a few short dated items I’ve been very pleased on the whole. The drivers have always been super helpful.

We have had Tesco deliveries for several years and have always been very satisfied. The drivers have all been very helpful and any problems and refunds quickly dealt with. We have tried the other supermarkets but have found Tesco the best.
Hope you get sorted soon, Nanabird.
