GM, when that kept happening to us, it was a loose wire in my iron, which was causing it. A bit of trial and error to get to the bottom of it.

Good morning from a wet & windy Sefton. Still very gloomy out there.
A very busy day yesterday. Two exercise classes took care of the morning, then DGD2 nursery pickup, kept her entertained whilst mum had important zoom meetings. Actually she keeps us entertained. Then a dash home through very heavy traffic as DH was due to help with the local Lions Santa float. A quiet day today. Zumba class first, a visit to the fish man then no other plans after that.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s raining.
I’m off to stay with DD today. We are doing some Christmas shopping tomorrow in south Manchester then I’m taking DGS clothes shopping on Saturday for his presents. I’m getting a train at lunchtime.
I can sense the excitement and joy in the posts about the meet up yesterday. So pleased you had such a good time.

A grey start with serious rain forecast for later in the day so an indoor day will be sensible and welcome. Cards written so a bit of wrapping will be good though these days there are far fewer actual gifts since various forms of prepayment are preferred (and much easier than actual shopping though less fun).

gMattie, I feel for you; I am impressed by your patience with the various disasters and improvements and just hope that there is reliable light at the end of this tunnel. Glad the Glasgow meet was so successful and hope that everyone has their voice back after so much exercise. Sounds a lot of fun.

Good morning from Shropshire where rain is forecast all day.

We managed to complete our to do list yesterday so just the usual household stuff to do today.We have all the cards and presents ready to take down to West Wales.MIL is still in hospital, six weeks now.We have been told that when she is ready for discharge there is a six month wait for a care package.

Heading out to my cousin’s funeral so just want to thank Marydoll for organising yesterday’s meet up in Glasgow. It was really lovely to see and chat to such a nice group of women.
We all moved round socially so there was the chance to talk to most of us individually with promises to catch up with others ‘the next time’.
Thanks everybody, it was great!

Good morning it’s wet and very windy, not a good day to dog sit, she doesn’t like getting wet anymore than we do, so it will be a struggle to get out for a walk.
Presents wrapped, cards written, although instead of sticking 2nd class stamps on most of them I put my glasses on and realised that they were 2p stamps, off to the post office again then, no idea where they came from though, I only get stamps from the POffice.
So pleased that the meet up went well yesterday.

Good morning from a dull and rainy Black Country, after such a bright sunny day yesterday, although very cold.

My Thursday walking group Christmas lunch today. The group that meets every other week, locally. Luckily the venue is a pub about 10 minutes walk for me. Looking forward to it as it is a family owned pub, not a chain, so different food.

Sorry to hear about your DD's FIL Sar it's a cruel disease. Mum was diagnosed last week, it is so worrying.

gM when our fuses tripped, it turned out to be a dodgy connection in my laptop lead, as I realised it happened every time I plugged it in!

Lovely photo's of the Glesca meet! Obviously I don't recognise anyone, but you all look lovely, kind, fun ladies. I may try and suggest a date for a Birmingham meet in the New Year. Anyone interested send me a private message.

A day I would rather stay at home but I have scripts to collect, a delivery from M&S then an appointment in your neck of the woods baubles, keeping my fingers crossed I find a parking space at the CG. 🤞

Yesterday’s visit from our GP went well when after a review of DH’s meds. she decided a few from his stash were no longer needed.

Still gutted I missed yesterday’s meet up but it sounds as if it was the usual friendly get together with non stop blethering.

Morning Mick, morning All from a seriously soggy corner of Somerset. Flood alerts and warnings galore.

We’ve both just woken up. Improving for sure. Now negative Mr C is grumbling because he doesn’t feel totally better. I do understand, he recovered so well from surgery and is cross he’s exhausted again.

We did venture out yesterday and enjoyed the sense of freedom. Mostly outside it did us good although like maryd we need to recoup today. Your meet-up sounds to have been worth it though, what a journey you had grandmab.

Hope the power issue is sorted grandmattie and disruption is over. Good luck with the eye test ash. That’s sad news and a worrying diagnosis sar. The brace sounds to be doing it’s stuff mizuma. Pleased for you. Hope your sons car is ok pitt.

Please stop mentioning Christmas cards. It was todays plan, not sure my head will allow me to be coherent. We’re calling it covid-brain, good excuse anyway .

I get very annoyed, but am pragmatic and try to turn everything that occurs into a funny episode in my life. It's too short to get worried about things!

Oh, and the sockets trip when they feel like it. There is no rhyme or reason, and doesn't happen when I plug in a new piece of equimpent...

It was both very ungainly,uncomfortable and awkward to wear but amazingly,it avoided her needing an operation which,had it been necessary,would have put her out of operation for several months.'

Good morning Mick and everyone from dark damp Carlisle where it is getting really windy. I'm glad I'm not needing to go out.
Yesterday seemed to be largely spent in front of the computer, today may well be the same. My calendar for January seems to be steadily filling up, mostly with servicing appointments, for me and now for the car. It had its major service and MOT only a few weeks ago, now I've just had a recall notice. It has to go in to have the drivers seat rail replaced....or something awful could happen! I've only been driving it for four years...
Well, I won't mention C*******s c****, corner...I will wish you both a swift recovery to normal though.

I'm happy to hear the Glasgow meet-up went well and that Marydoll managed to join in this time. I'll look at the photos later.

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers (and cold) northwest coast.
The lunchtime concert was lovely yesterday, beautiful programme, Chopin etc and really well played. Brought tears to my eyes. The tree in the church rather magnificent, reaching to the ceiling.
I had copies made of a a painting of mine for more cards. It’s on canvas so couldn’t photocopy it myself and took a photo. I’m not that pleased with the copies however. Then to garage for 3 for oil change and filter. They had locked up and gone home! I did change the appointment from today, but still. Won’t use them again. Last night as usual, dropping off to sleep in front of the tv, which is annoying, but earlier I had a nice FaceTime with DGD away at university.

Glad to be home today for a change and catch up on things.

Good morning everyone from a very wet and chilly Northampton. Expecting a Sainsbury's delivery soon, so I really ought to be in the shower, getting ready.

Had a lovely lunch out with my dear friend yesterday, spoilt by my tripping over the .kerb on the way home and falling flat on my face. Think I went over on my ankle which was really painful yesterday evening, but is much better this morning. Two lovely gentleman picked me up, and the only other damage was to my pride and dignity! I am going to give dance classes a miss today, as I think I need to rest it. Miraculously my glasses were ok.

Christmas cards were posted yesterday, including the Australia ones, and presents exchanged at lunch. Friend and I have made another date for a lunch in the new year.

Not going to do a lot today, sit and read mostly I think. May get a load of washing done.

Can someone please tell me where I can find the pictures of the Glasgow meet up? Been searching everywhere!

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s windy out but dry and 5°C. Thursday = date night and we are being joined tonight by Himself’s two brothers and their wives. I’m so excited as owing to circumstances we haven’t seen one of the brothers and his wife for months. Very kindly they are driving through and are happy to eat early as this suits us best these days.

Yesterday I had a hospital appointment at the ophthalmology clinic. It’s not an examination, the tests check eye movement and focusing. They are arranging another Botox jab so am now waiting for a date for that.

tink75 it's my first Christmas without my DH too. I too have family I will see. My sister is coming to stay with me as it's her first Christmas without her DH too. Been an awful year for our family.
