Oh blimey Brook. I hope it settles down soon, although another one is on the way for the weekend. Soop I hope it's nothing serious.
The weather hasn't ere has been awful, but not as bad as further north. I have stayed home because of flooding on the road to mum's hospital. So it's been quiet. I'm glad because my face has broken out and I look pretty awful. Hopefully it'll clear up before tomorrow. And the weather too! Last of the turkey later.

Takes an almighty deep breath. Good afternoon to all you lovely lot and a special group hug for many newcomers. To be honest, I'm overwhelmed to discover a multitude of kind, beautifully expressed messages. It is a privilege to welcome those of you who have joined us recently or, indeed, never before.

We have enjoyed a peaceful two days, listening to music, speaking over the phone with family...and indulging in treats of an edible nature.

At 4:30 the GP is to prod and poke the increasingly troublesome area across my chest. The pain spreads from under my arm pit. Hey ho!

Our garden is water-logged. Although we did enjoy a sunny, dry boxing Day.

Blummin heck what a storm we’ve got here Gale force wind, snow and sleety rain. Next doors fence has blown right over and there’s all sorts of debris on the road. We’ve had no power since about 1pm so just in the car now on our way to DD2s to keep warm, get a mobile signal and internet etc. so we can check progress on the outage. Hopefully things will be back to normal soon

I’m so sorry that I haven’t made it to the kitchen but it sounds like there have been lots of happy times. I got the turkey (of course!) and all was well.
We were 15 on Christmas Day, with 9 + 2 dogs overnight. DD ,SiL and DGS2 are still here, until tomorrow. He is 17 months and just delightful! His little sister will join the family in a few weeks.
Absolutely shattered but such a great time.

Hello kitcheners.
It’s been a glorious day here with sunny blue skies. I went out for a welcome walk and fresh air after breakfast. After lunch I needed to get a couple of extra gifts for friends I won’t see till later in the week. Town wasn’t as busy as the sales of yore. Online having a say in that I expect. I watched the Strictly Christmas special when we got home with a cuppa and some Christmas cake. I’ve also watched the programme about the Kings Coronation this evening that was interesting. So much work going on behind the scenes. Fascinating stuff.

Urms the Easter eggs are already in the shops here!

‘Evening All’.

Himself and I have really enjoyed our Boxing Day. We picked my stepfather up and went over to visit friends nearby, enjoying fresh chatting - catching up on news of each other’s families, Christmas cake, coffee and a wee dram. My stepfather made us all laugh when he said ‘there’ll be Easter eggs in the shops next month!’.

Good afternoon kitchen pals, Im another one having a lazy day here 😴 I’ve just stayed inside cosy and warm all day although I did have a wee wander in the garden earlier just for a bit of fresh air.
The curtains area now closed, the candles are lit, fairy lights twinkling and I’m going to find something to watch on the tv

Good afternoon kitcheners. A frosty one here and now a large, bright, full moon with a haze around it. I have barely moved from the couch, the lazy article that I am. I'm watching The Great Escape followed by Indiana Jones. In a while I'll reheat leftovers and have a Baileys. A perfectly quiet day. Enjoy your Boxing Day

Good Boxing Day afternoon kitcheners. Snow brook how lovely, a quick glimmer of sun here, then dull, cooler too.
After yesterday we’re having a quiet day, shuffled some presents about to look at them, then put them back in the big bag. I did briefly vacuum to show willing, thanked my daughter again for yesterday and asked my son if he had birthday plans for next Tuesday.
Dinner is easy leftovers, as I got out for a walk earlier, I deserve more indulgence.
Hope MrYia is improving, so scary for you both and you’re having a better day Yia.

Hello Boxing Day kitchen people.
We’ve had a lovely day so far. Elder son and his partner went for a drive to Bourton on the Water. Younger son, me and granddaughter played Amazing Labyrinth. Not sure what daughter was doing but I think OH was clearing up the kitchen. We had another delicious lunch. I make Coronation chicken (the original Constance Spry recipe) ever year. We also had new potatoes, salad, chicken pie and sausage rolls (they’ve all been eaten now), and ham. Pudding was trifle with plenty of whipped cream, lemon ice-cream and chocolate peppermint ice-cream. Oh, and the remains of yesterday’s chocolate log. Sadly, elder son has had to go for a lie down as he has suddenly developed a dreadful earache. He had always been prior to this since he was a small boy and he’s now 40,
Have a wonderful rest of the day.
A small postscript! I slept in younger son’s old room last night and Milo the cat managed to open the door at 7 am, creep in and snuggle up next to me!

Wishing a happy Boxing day to Soop and all lovely Kitchen people. Thinking of you all, especially those with struggles at this time.

We had a busy Christmas day, DS3 and lovely partner arrived around 10, we had a bacon rolls then exchanged our gifts before heading off to see the DS2, DDiL2 and the Wee Boy. He was so excited but played well with his new toys....remote control digger and dumper, plus a dinosaur car transporter. His daddy was enjoying helping with the Lego, an all time favourite of our boys.😂
We had a light buffet lunch and left at 3, laden with more generous gifts, to drive an hour across the country to DS1, DdiL1, DGS1 and DGD. We were there until 10, enjoying their company and a delicious traditional Christmas dinner, with home made desserts to die for! Also, they have a new addition to the family, a wee energetic Grandpup, she has a lot to live up to, following our beloved Granddog's paw prints.
DH and I were thoroughly spoiled by all the family, we are very thankful that we saw all our sons, partners and DGC during the course of Christmas Day.

A quiet day at home today, watching catch up TV and eating too many chocolates! Cold and frosty here, hope everyone is cosy and warm. Take care, enjoy your family celebrations.

We’ve just got home from a lovely day spent with DD2 and family. Sil did most of the cooking whilst the rest of us were entertaining the children and playing lots of new games. I’m just unwinding now before trying to get to sleep. It’s a cold night, there wasn’t any snow at DDs house in town but we’re a bit higher up and we’ve lots of snow here ⛄️

Hello all - at least I don’t have to do any cooking in this kitchen!
We had a lovely day. Delicious food, good company and a game of Family Trivial Pursuit after dinner. My granddaughter was a delight and seemed to love all her presents.
I’m so sorry that some of you had a difficult Christmas.

A busy day with DS and family overnight last night and, having seen them on their way, two friends who have lost their spouses for a leisurely lunch, a game or two and a light supper. Now watching Call the Midwife on catch up before I fall into bed after a very demanding day which was happier than I had expected. Lesson learned is that doing something for others is good for me. Hope everyone has had a good day too.f

Just popping into the kitchen to say how happy I’m feeling after sitting round a dinner table for Christmas with our immediate family this afternoon., nine of us in total - ages ranging from 91y down to 6y.

I feel very blessed.

Not been a good night.We had to call 111 at 5am this morning DH just couldn’t stop coughing.Very impressed a doctor called back at 7am and prescribed antibiotics,
now taken,and hoping for improvement.Feeling very low and missing the family.

We are having a quiet morning at home before we go to our son and his family for lunch and the rest of the day. The calm before the storm. With a 2 and a nearly 7 year old it will be chaos but a happy chaos!

Happy Christmas to you all. Just getting up....we went to Mass last night...it was beautiful...our neighbours daughter gave birth to a baby boy at 6.15 am yesterday..8 weeks early..so it was very poignant listening to the readings. We got the moho ready yesterday too as we are taking it to our friends today and stopping in it overnight. It's only a couple of miles away but means we don't have to worry about driving. The bed is made up...cushions ...mattress topper and fleece protector thing...we practically needed steps to get onto it but my back and hip should behave themselves. Have a wonderful day everyone. Xx
