Dear annsixty, looking back it seems so ironic that you were wishing us all a pleasant evening just about the time that the ambulance was called. I hope that Imogen is feeling much better now.

Oh Sue D what n awful end to a holiday.
I’ve not caught up properly but will do so in a moment.

Thank you for all your expressions of sympathy. I had a horrible night, thinking the worst of course. I deliberately didn’t phone the hospital until the doctors would have done their rounds this morning, only to be told that they wouldn’t know anything until DH had seen the neurologist in the afternoon. DD1 and I were planning on going to the hospital this afternoon when all of a sudden he turned up in a taxi!
Apparently the emergency department realised there wouldn’t be a neurologist on duty until Monday and gave him the chance of coming home which he jumped at. I get the feeling that that as all his vital signs were fine and he was niggleing about coming home, they took the opportunity of freeing the bed. He has a sheaf of papers to take to and see our family doctor as soon as possible.

I am so grateful my girls were here. And also that the worrying signs that I saw when he sat opposite me and collapsed were backed up by everyone else at the table.

Some sad and worrying news for Kitcheners tonight- my sympathies to you all.
The things life can throw at us sometimes-if I was wearing a hat I’d take it off to you all 💕

Goodness sued. What a shock, I’m so sorry it’s happened to you. Hope the insurers are both helpful and prompt in their actions.

I do understand a little of how upsetting it can be. We had a fairly minor, by comparison, water leak some years ago. Arrived home to find what looked like a waterfall from our living room light. Two rooms downstairs and three upstairs were affected. It’s horrid. Sending a huge hug.

Oh SueD how upsetting after such a lovely time away, the very last thing you needed. There’s nothing you can do about it but hopefully you won’t get too stressed out although I know I would be. Good you’ve got your DD nearby

Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people, we're just home from a lovely visit to the Wee Boy and his Mummy and Daddy, which included bathtime! Their house is like Santa's Grotto, beautifully Christmassed upstairs and down...somebody is getting a bit excited.

I've just sat down to catch up on the Kitchen news, haven't read thoroughly yet, but I'm so sorry to hear about your DH, Dustyangel, what a distressing experience for you both. Thank goodness you had immediate professional help, and your daughters beside you. Your DH is now in the best place, receiving expert care, I hope you hear hopeful news soon.💕🙏

So sorry about your dh, Dusty. I hope they get to the root of the problem asap.

We got back from out trip down south earlier this evening only to find the entire ground floor of our house under water. . There seems to have been a leak of some sort under the kitchen sink.

Can’t speak to insurance until the morning so we’re recovering from the shock with a cup of tea at dd’s and I’ve booked us into a Travelodge overnight.

I shall be so glad when it’s 2024.

Hello kitchen people. I’m resting on the sofa waiting for my chicken curry which OH is cooking. I’ve spent enough time in the kitchen today! I managed to make two dozen sausage rolls (I’ll make more tomorrow) 36 stuffing balls, Christmas gravy, chocolate fudge icing, bread sauce, and lemon ice cream. My freezers are full to bursting.
I heard from my cousin today. My aunt’s funeral will the week before Christmas. One of her sons who lives in Melbourne will be flying back for it.
Have a good evening. I have all the papers to read and it’s my turn to feed the cats.

Hello Everyone,well our plans haven’t worked out this weekend.
My DS cat is very poorly he has a blockage in his bladder.On meds and they have to watch him over the next few days may have to have surgery.So of course they have to stay at home a real shame but hope the poor cat gets better.

Sorry to hear about Imogen Jacs. My DiL was was diagnosed in 2020 she is on medication and could drive after a year.She’s been fine and not had a seizure since being on the meds.I hope it’s the same for Imogen.

In other news, MrB's scattiness struck again this morning. He set off for a sketching/drawing event at Kelvingrove Museum without drinking any coffee, with the result that he left behind his bag of drawing paraphernalia.

The soop's will remember a few weeks ago how he got the date wrong for an Argyll Bird Club trip to Gigha that we had intended to follow with a short visit to Castle Soop.

I call it bursting brain syndrome – too much spinning around in his head to notice stuff outside it. Not the most practical of people 🤣

dusty Oh dear me, what a very upsetting experience for your husband and yourself. I would have gone into a full-blown panic. It was fortuitous that the fireman/paramedic was able to give immediate assistance. I will hope to hear better news when you have an update from the specialist.
