I’m going shopping this morning then early afternoon picking up DGS and bringing him back here to stay over. It’s DGDs 9th birthday next weekend and tonight she’s having 3 friends for a sleepover party at their house so DGS is coming here to escape the mayhem!
Lots to think about grandmabatty with your mum, I hope an agreement can be made with your brother without too much difficulty. Enjoy having your DGS to stay over, it’ll be pizza for us this evening

Good morning all from a dry and grey Suffolk. Yesterday’s trip to Norwich was fun and as you said Blossoming the Korean food was delicious. The cafe is well used by Korean students from UEA.

I hope to finish writing Christmas cards today and wrap the presents which need to be posted. Why am I surprised( as it happens every year) that once we are in December,the days just rush by with ever increasing speed.

Still coughing, getting used to it now. A short and remarkably quiet and successful trip into town yesterday morning was combined with a shorter sea front walk. Good to be out.

Not sure how today will shape itself. The rain is supposed to stop, sunshine due to arrive but 50mph winds are forecast, not the day for wandering without an anchor.

DH has a slot at the tip early to dispose of all the spoiled food. I took the opportunity to get rid of all the tech equipment, I have been saving, just in case I may need it. Old habits die hard, the school technicians were always visiting me for spare parts for other schools. I must have saved the L.A. a fortune. 😉

We had a fabulous afternoon with Babydoll and her mum at the garden centre. The fish tanks are a great baby sensory experience and it is free! 😉
DIL had a 20% discount, so bought a few glass tree ornaments, which I really didn't need.
A bonus was, we had some faulty expensive light bulbs to return, which were under guarantee. We have been back so often, the manager knows us now. The shop is out of the way, but fortunately right next to the garden centre.

Today is Dollie's drama club performance, so we are looking forward to that. She has the lead role. [ #smug gran. ]
Tickets were very limited, but the leader (a former River City actor ) owes me a few favours. I am her buffer, when she is dealing with the difficult PP! 🤣

I hope your husband is on the mend, loopyloo and anyone else struggling, has a gentle day. Myself included, my pain levels are extremely high, a result of stopping the biologics. 😖

P.P.S. DH was in the garage. After two days of not working, THE FREEZER IS FUNCTIONING AGAIN. 🤷‍♀️ I'm puzzled! Thank goodness, I didn't have time to look for another one.

Morning all from a damp West Oxfordshire. I was pleased to get nearly all the presents wrapped and cards written yesterday. I’ve had to order more gift cards and ribbon! I did some WI admin too.
Today I will be mainly Christmas cooking for the freezer - sausage rolls, stuffing balls, bread sauce… a batch of chocolate fudge icing too for the chocolate log which I made the other day. Hopefully OH can pick up a click and collect order for me from Waitrose.
I need to get in touch with my cousin to find out when my aunt’s funeral is.

Good morning from a very wet and windy Essex coast.
I think a lot of plans will be curtailed today.
Early evening yesterday I watched DGD5 in her school nativity via a U tube link. It was years 1 and 2 (5-7 year olds) and it was lovely to see C singing away.
I'm not going far today until this evening when the Rugby Club are having a fund raiser for a young boy with Downs syndrome. His dad runs a rugby team for children with special needs and it is very popular.

We are going to NT Hughenden (Disraeli’s home) to a Jazz Christmas Concert, with turkey baps beforehand in the Stables Cafe (Yum, as my eldest DGS would say). Will be wearing my waterproof trousers 👖

Oh, the deer park in Nottingham brings back such a special memory Grammaretto. When my blind daughter was at Uni there we walked through the park one rainy day and she said, ' Why can I smell wet satchels?' and round a corner came a thundering herd of wet deer. It was funny and magical at the same time.

Good morning from a very soggy Sefton. And it may be a bit windy. Hard to tell it's still very dark.
Early start this morning as DH is doing a morning stint with the Lions club Santa float outside a local supermarket. That leaves me free to make some mincepies for the freezer. We have had some very strange meals this week trying to make room for them in the freezer.

Good morning all from Nottingham which is still in darkness. I think DDiL and I will go dog walking in the deer park this morning while DS does the football run and oldest DGD works her Saturday job with the Royal Mail.

I had a phone call last night to say my bid for a painting had been highest at a silent auction at last week's Christmas charity fair in Edinburgh. A lifetime first! She had to remind me what I'd bid. it wasn't a huge amount and for a worthy charity.
I'll post a photo when I receive it. 😊

Good morning from a windy, wet Cornwall where there is a puddle in my kitchen from a leaking roof, so I'll send a photo and message to my landlord this morning.

An unexpected dental trip yesterday as the base of an extracted wisdom tooth seems to be emerging sideways through my gum. Life is full of surprises. 😂 I think the dentist would have loved to have had a go there and then but I've chosen not to have it cut out before Christmas!

My eight-year-old granddaughter is coming for a day of chatting and art-ing. Our town is holding a Winter Weekend, with 'skating rink', music and stalls but she'll want to stay in my flat; her 'happy place' is what her dad calls it.

Good morning from a dark wet and windy South Downs. Had planned to put up the lights on the outside Christmas tree but that won’t get done. The next dry day according to the weather app. Is thursday Well it will just have to wait until then.

Yesterday I managed to do more Christmas shopping in between haircut and social worker. Dd and dgs2 popped in as well. The social worker has advised me to apply for guardianship for mum. The likelihood is she will be in this hospital for anything up to another year. I shall have to think about it seriously but it's very expensive and I can foresee issues with my brother. Heigh ho. Later on I had my flu and covid boosters and have a bit of a sore arm.
Today I'm looking after dgs2 for a couple of hours. Dgs1 has yet another party. Later dgs1 is coming for a sleepover. He has asked for a sausage supper from the chippy, popcorn and hot chocolate. His wish is my command! I'll have to nip to Aldi for a food shop too. So a busy Saturday ahead. Have a good day all

Good morning from a rainy but mild Colchester. 12° is today's high.
I am still in bed as DS tried to creep in at 2.30am but my Mum senses heard him. DH then tried to dress quietly to go fishing at 5.30.

My Aunt and Uncle are visiting at lunch time as we begin our annual Christmas pass the parcel.

DS has left his laundry bag outside his bedroom door so that'll keep me amused until he surfaces later.

Morning all, from a wet West Yorkshire - another disappointing day from a dog walking perspective ☹️ I was also hoping to do some responsible foraging for Christmas wreath work, hey ho. On a brighter note, this is my first weekend in ages that I don’t have family responsibilities, so 2 fabulous days of freedom before the working week begins again!

Had a exciting nerve wracking 10 days. DH had unexpected surgery and is now recovering. So am travelling every other day to the hospital in Hampstead.
Amazing seeing the mix of people and types and age groups.
Might look in the charity shops there today.
Now have a remote thermostat on our central heating. Fascinating. Can link it to my phone.
Taking off the wall unit will give us more space for a taller fridge freezer.
Well that's the plan .
DH might be home Tuesday.

I’ve woken feeling very dull and tired for some reason, I suspect that I was having difficult dreams.

I’ll spend an hour this morning with my yarn group hanging bagged angels around the town before going to the hairdresser. I think I’ll have a couple of inches chopped off.

This afternoon I really must get Christmas decorations out and clear of all the storage boxes out of the hall.

Good morning from currently wet and soggy s somerset. It looks as though most of today will be sunny and very windy

I am up and ready to drive at first light, a quick turnaround today and I think I will be back for lunchtime. The potential for road and lane floods is quite scary but it seems that floods have abated and most roads are fine but I will be glad to be home again

I knitted a lot again yesterday, am loving my new yarn and thankfully am past the cables now so I can be mindless. I found a person on youtube who does films and tv series, without adverts. I am watching sanditon right now and it is a good enjoyable watch

I am not tempted to go to any shops this weekend. I now have enough stuff and treats, just cookfood delivery next week, a few meals for the freezer. Nice to be avoiding crowds

Good morning from a sodden Bristol; more rain today and, sadly, lots of wind, making it very unpleasant.
The Scouts are supposed to be selling Christmas trees in the small, church car park. Poor kids, I hope they don’t get too cold and wet.
Meanwhile, I shall be cheering them up, serving hot drinks indoors. I made some choc chip cookies, with cranberries to make them more festive, to take with me.
My painter has just about finished my doors and, because he has a couple or three days free next week, will start to paint th3 remaining rooms.
I asked him if he knew someone who would put up my blinds and do a few odds and ends, he suggested himself! So next week, after ordering the blinds about 4 months ago, they will go up.

Good morning Mick and all to come- it’s wet, wet, wet here too.
A neighbours daughter is getting married today in our pretty village church - but it’s a little walk from the lychgate to the porch and quite exposed. They’re having a marquee at the village pub too, just round the corner so we will all be hoping the wind drops and it fairs up in time! I doubt if the happy couple will be walking round as they had planned.
Hard to believe we only have a fortnight to go, 🎅 🎄 will be here before we know it.
