Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in brackley this morning.
Yesterdays bus trip went OK met up with a friend in the supermarket , plans to u buying a soundbar changed have chosen a delivery option .
I did have a couple of beers locally despite toilet trips , although taking the IBS relief capsules seem better than the normal Laperamide ones , now down to 2 a day.
I may go out to a nearby bar and have a Sunday Roast as a treat but will decide later .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Durham. It’s dry and mild, but rain is due. I’m still coughing and sneezing, but don’t feel as bad as I sound.
Meeting DD2 and family at their nearby Garden Centre for breakfast - there are donkeys! (Not on the menu) I’ll take her clean laundry with me. Afterwards, we are buying a selection of Lego for DGS1.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning everyone from a dry and cloudy Northampton,.quite still out today, after yesterday's heavy rain and high winds.

Got the Christmas tree up and decorated yesterday, and also put a mini tree in the porch, and found the fairy lights for it. House is starting to look Christmassy.

Shall leave the rest of the decorations till tomorrow, as I am out to the cinema again today with a couple of friends; we are going to see Maestro, about Leonard Bernstein; looking forward to it, as it has had 5* reviews. And I love his music.

Chicken Provencal (courtesy of M&S!) for dinner tonight, with new potatoes and veg.

Wishing all a pleasant Sunday.

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s dry and the sky is grey with swiftly moving clouds.

I’ve spent two days at home so I will go out this morning. Hopefully to find some small gifts. Yesterday was spent tidying some areas and setting up my tree etc ready to decorate. Will finish today. Cards are written and ready to post.

Hope you all have a lovely day 🎄💐

Good morning all and it’s very quiet after the rain and wind last evening.

DS1 came and put all the outside decs up and was a great help with the indoor ones. All looking very festive.🎄.

I’ll take Dd and little gd to her swimming lesson today and they’ll come back for roast chicken.

A busy week ahead and we’re hoping to get up to Suffolk for a few days next week 🤞.

Lovely pics on here and what a sunrise greyduster .
Enjoy your lunch Mick
Tessyo I wonder what’s making you think about returning to church! 🤔. I recently returned and am finding it very uplifting.

A peaceful, gentle day to you all. 🙏

Church this morning in the smallest church in our Benefice, a tiny medieval building with a fine Norman arch over the chancel steps. I always enjoy services there - it’s easy to feel part of a long line of worshippers.

Not much else on the agenda so might do some meal planning for the festive period as there will be more coming and going than I had originally envisaged and I will need to be organised.

Good morning from West Wales where heavy rain is forecast.

We had a lovely drive down yesterday. The roads were quiet and the weather perfect for driving.

Today will be similar to yesterday visiting MIL in hospital and visiting other family to drop cards and gifts off.We will hopefully get a walk on the coastal path in but weather dependant.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩🎅🏼🎄

Good morning all from Nottingham. A windy night but it's stopped raining.

The family here have a busy schedule so I am not sure if I can lure them either to Sunday pub lunch or a trip out. Teenaged DGC are not very biddable and have their own occasions.

Beautiful photos Ash

Have a lovely day everyone.

Good morning.
Had a great evening bat our neighbourhood party. Thankfully being just around the corner the high winds didn’t cause us any bother. Dry with a breeze this morning.
Family ( 11 of us altogether)will arrive around midday for DD2s birthday lunch. Requested food , lasagne and for pudding, lemon meringue / raspberry waffle pie. Of course tea and birthday cake later.
Wishing you all a good and peaceful day.

Good morning from a dry and calm Suffolk unlike yesterday when we had torrential rain and very high winds. The little dog wouldn’t go out until they had lessened at about 4pm. DH wishes he had a bladder like hers!

Most of the cards written and several presents wrapped and I hope to do more today.

It is DGD4’s 12th birthday today and a phone call is scheduled at 9am . They live in Bristol so we won’t be seeing her today.

Hope all have a peaceful day with calmer weather.

Good morning everyone from a damp south Manchester. Himself is driving us over to my stepfather’s later as we are all going to have lunch in a pub chosen by my stepfather. It’s a 20 minute drive and he and my mum used to love going there for Sunday dinners, especially at Christmas time with all the decorations. But that was so many years ago now - I had to ring the pub to check it hadn’t closed down! So a memory lane trip. I hope he isn’t disappointed! Ah well, it’s a run out, good company and no cooking today - what’s not to like.
😁

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone it’s getting light out there but according to my ring doorbell there’s fog and rain outside on the east coast of Fife, it’ll be church today for me as long as my carer can get here in time to help me get dressed, they’re all over the place at the minute with their times, lots of carers are off sick and covid seems to be going around again fingers crossed it passes me by I’m sooo looking forward to going to Tenerife in February.

Have a good day everyone remember keep safe it’s still out there

Good morning from a dull and cloudy Black Country, where heavy rain is forecast again!

MrJ is supposed to be on a Christmas cycle ride, where they wear Chistmassy clothes and decorate their bikes. Then a buffet in a local hotel. I think the ride bit will be cancelled, and just a walk into town for the buffet!

I will be off to the gym later for the Zumba class, quite an energetic workout.

Christmas Decs down from the loft, but not put up yet, probably sometime this week, just cannot get into the mood this year.

Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday

EkwaNimitee Sun 10-Dec-23 09:02:12

Good morning Mick and everyone from a still rather dark Carlisle where it looks damp outside. It may or may not rain, it's cloudy. I'm staying in unless it brightens up when I may go for a walk in the park.
Yesterday I had a long chat with my sister in Nottingham where we put the world to rights as usual then I had a session of tidying up. In the evening I am now starting to enjoy playing my CD's. On my previous complicated system-dvd player integrated with TV setup, playing CDs generally caused the TV to have a hissy fit later. Generally not worth the trouble of getting them out. I have found that marrying the old with the new doesn't work very well as far as tech stuff is concerned and am in the process of modernising.

Today will be a quiet one, just reading and pottering. A long period of awakeness in the small hours will probably affect my alertness later. I still have to sort one small Christmas present though so will be searching the big river store online too.

That's a beautiful sunrise Greyduster. I hope 'red sky in the morning, shepherd's warning' isn't true for you!

Wishing you all a happy Sunday.

Good morning all after a very difficult couple of days. DH was taken ill on Friday evening when we all were out having a meal.
Fortunately the was a paramedic in the restaurant who quickly called an ambulance and he was taken first to our local Health Centre and then transferred to Faro hospital.

All of us at the table are convinced that he had a stroke but the hospital says not. Not even a TIA and after waiting anxiously for information (no visiting in the emergency ward that he was in) DD1 and I were about to go to Faro ourselves when he arrived home by taxi. He’s been discharged with instructions to see his own doctor as soon as possible which wont be until tomorrow afternoon. It’s all so frustrating and worrying.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 10-Dec-23 09:27:56

Morning all, we are off out for a late breakfast at the lovely little cafe at the end of our road.

DD and her family are here for a late Sunday Roast (6.30 ish) the 8 yr old requested pork as he likes crackling.

Have a peaceful day folks 🤶🏻🎄

Kalu Sun 10-Dec-23 09:30:58

Good morning from Glasgow. Dull, damp and grey so far.

Something to look forward today. We have friends coming for a light lunch, a lovely couple who have been our friends for over 40 years. We won’t be having our usual long stretched out lunch together as DH tires easily these days but it will be such a tonic for both of us having them visit.

When I was out late Thursday afternoon I noticed many gardens and houses adorned with fairy lights, so pretty and cheerful it egged me on to make a start to decorate ours, pre lit wreaths and tree outside and Swedish candle bridges at downstairs front windows so far. As the weather is so gloomy, I have decided to keep them permanently lit to add some cheer.

Hoping a pleasant day is ahead for all and a calmer, less worrisome day is possible for those struggling with whatever difficult times you are dealing with.

hollysteers Sun 10-Dec-23 09:36:42

Good morning Mick and all from a damp and dull northwest coast. I was due to go into the city and meet a friend for lunch and gallery visiting, but see there are disruptions on the line from the wind last night. I’ve cancelled as although it’s probably alright now, I don’t want to take a chance and more bad weather is forecast. Will get my tree out and other Xmas stuff.

Lovely photographs Ash and hope your DH is ok dustyangel Thoughts to all with worries of any kind 🎄💕

Kalu Sun 10-Dec-23 09:36:53

What a frightening experience for you and your DH Dusty.
Thankfully it wasn’t a stroke and your DH was able to return home. You have more than enough to cope with. 💐

Good morning, lying in bed as yesterday evening I fell over in the kitchen bashed my head, hurt my neck and foot. 11 hours in A&E followed. Luckily no broken bones this time. So it’s rest and more rest. What a time to pick.
Take care all

Blossoming Sun 10-Dec-23 09:47:55

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Lancashire where it is once again raining, though it seems calmer than yesterday.

No real plans for today, I shall just bimble along and hopefully no dramas.

Hoping all the poorlies have a better day 🌻

harrigran Sun 10-Dec-23 09:56:42

Good morning from a grey NE where it is 7 degrees.
Sister and BIL were late visiting as BIL wanted to watch the football match with an early kick off.
DS and GD arrived even later because GD had been at rehearsals for the school production, Evita. All productions are interesting because it is a girls school so male parts are also played by girls.
I roast a gammon joint and did lots of vegetables and then we watched a programme about wild dogs. GD loves everything about nature and the environment.
This afternoon SIL will come and maybe he will get my decorations out of the attic and then we will cook dinner together. Tonight we will have duck legs.
Have a good day.

Urmstongran Sun 10-Dec-23 09:58:58

I admire you getting to grips with techie stuff EkwaNimity. I can’t be bothered. I got rid of pretty much all our CD’s this summer. Far too many and we weren’t playing them. We just ask Alexa now! Good enough for what we want. 😁 “Alexa, play the Norah Jones album ‘Come Away with Me’. Sorted.
