M&S 12 days of Christmas

I saw that M&S were doing this again this year. I'd been disappointed last year but feel luckier this year. I got a nice hand cream and a packet of Florentines as well as a bag of fresh baked cookies or doughnuts with my usual Sparks card.
I know others were very lucky last year. Anyone get gin this year?

Dotty123 Wed 13-Dec-23 13:55:39

I got a Percy Pig tin and ice cream balls. I did use the 20% beauty offer so quite happy. I wonder if it’s connected to how much you’ve spent with them throughout the year? (Got bottle of gin last year!)

GolferGrandma Wed 13-Dec-23 13:49:52

My ‘prizes ‘ are all % off! Nearest store is 14 miles in a large city centre where I hardly ever visit, so won’t be using any.
Last year I won a prize in Swarovski advent calendar, worth about £175, BUT could only claim it if I made a purchase of at least £70. Argued that this was no prize, just an underhand means to make sales. Needless to say I have not bothered this year.

Well I thought it was a big con. I managed to get handcream the first day as we were out shopping in a very big M & S. There was a prosecco offer but in our small and IMO second rate local branch they had neither this nor most of those other discounted items which were the rest of the offers.

LinAnn52 Wed 13-Dec-23 13:10:52

I got the Discovery perfume and have a packet of Percy Pig sweets to collect. DH got a pair of Christmas socks. Well, he didn’t as they had none left.

polly123 Wed 13-Dec-23 12:08:55

I got a free Percy Pig train. Just rubbish really with discounts of slippers etc. which I don't buy anyway. So not much use apart from a small discount off a plant. Not really impressed.

So random for everyone. I'm v glad to hear that Lyn57 struck lucky twice and had her shopping paid for her. I thought it never actually happened. Will persevere in hope...

This has passed us by, we are both recovering from a very nasty flu virus so haven’t taken much interest in what is going on. I don’t think we have had any emails about it either. Well done to anybody who has won anything.

Tattooedfidelma Wed 13-Dec-23 11:55:44

Last year I got a free hand cream and a candle - both out of stock so I wasn’t building my hopes up this year so was pleasantly surprised. Got a box of ice cream balls which were delicious and a Percy pig train full of sweets as well as the money off vouchers.

DellaandtgeDealer Wed 13-Dec-23 11:48:00

Also very underwhelmed. Just money off coupons and a free pack of Percy Pigs. Last year I got the gin on the first day! John Lewis also not up to much, except for a mini Charlene Tilbury mascara which went out of stock very quickly.Hey ho.

I think I did ok this year…I got a free packet of Christmas cake slices on Day 1, which were delicious, and also got a free bottle of my favourite hand wash that I love and buy regularly. The rest were just % off things I’d already bought, so I didn’t use. My son was one of the lucky ones last year and got the bottle of gin on his first day, but nothing exciting this time around. Must say, I’m missing the mild excitement of opening the boxes since it ended 😂

Lyn57 Wed 13-Dec-23 11:39:11

I was lucky I had a free tub of cake bites and the apothecary diffuser but that was out of stock. My son had free box of mince pies and other friend had free bag of Percy pigs and a box of mince pies. I thought the money off purchases were ok not that I used them as didn’t need anything. On John Lewis website there was a free Christmas bauble but you had to spend a certain amount to claim it. I thought it was nice little treats I’m quite lucky with M&S as I’ve twice had my shopping for free ! I only spent £8 & £11 but was still nice to get it for free.

She777 Wed 13-Dec-23 11:34:11

I got a bottle of Buck’s fizz and a hand cream.
Also if you opened all 12 doors you go in the draw for a number of cash prizes and top prize is £10k.

JdotJ Wed 13-Dec-23 11:32:54

You've done extremely well Aveline.
The first offer I opened on door 1 was a free 30ml diffuser. Went to my local large M&S the next day and was informed "they'd all gone, didn't get sent many".
Other days offers have been 20% off food, bedding, clothing, etc, apart from a free tub of mini bites which I actually got this week.
No gin for me this year but I have been lucky twice in previous years with that.
I obviously haven't been spending as much/using my Sparks card this year.

Irismarle Wed 13-Dec-23 11:18:53

I got the free Florentines which had a shelf price of £4.25, which I was happy about. I’ve just discovered, too late, that John Lewis have an identical scheme. But 7 of my offers had expired and the two that hadn’t expired were out of stock. The only thing I could do was enter a draw for 12 free coffee+cake vouchers. Not a promotion that will have me rushing back to JL !

Grandmama Wed 13-Dec-23 11:17:31

I don't have a smartphone so I couldn't claim any prizes although there was only the Autograph perfume that I would have claimed. Why weren't they on my Sparks card? Yet again more pressure to buy a smartphone to replace my perfectly adequate little Nokia.

Nannan2 Wed 13-Dec-23 11:10:23

Didnt even know they were doing it! Arent they supposed to send email?

BrightandBreezy Tue 12-Dec-23 21:21:04

Free tub of M and S mini bites ...but not claimed yet. Hope they do have some left.

NotAGran55 Tue 12-Dec-23 20:17:11

I’ve just realised it was even better than his best bits, it’s his greatest bits!

Intrigued about your card Bella23 😳

It's interesting hearing about the variously lucky reports from Grans. I started this thread as I remembered last year's one and how some people did very well and others didn't.

annsixty Tue 12-Dec-23 16:12:11

My free gifts were a bottle of perfume and Percy pig sweets neither of which I was able to pick up.
All other 10 were money off, however I received an email today which said as I have opened all 12 I am now entered into a free prize draw, so here’s hoping.

grannydarkhair Tue 12-Dec-23 16:05:02

Apart from a free bag of chocolate coins - none left when I went in, all my other offers were discounts. Previous years have been better which is odd as I’ve spent more on food in M&S this year than ever before.

LucyAnna Tue 12-Dec-23 12:12:43

I had a free Handwash today and it smells lovely! Had 20% off gift sets yesterday and got two Harry Potter gifts for GDs. Other days were 20% off things I didn’t need.

Maggiemaybe Mon 11-Dec-23 20:00:00

Just money off vouchers for me. Plus a free pastry from the instore bakery - unfortunately ours is only a small branch and they only sell sweet pastries, which I don’t eat.

Millie22 Mon 11-Dec-23 19:52:40

I'm still waiting for Colin the
Caterpillar's best bits 🤣🤣🤣

Maybe tomorrow

So far money off stuff I don't want and a free pastry. Yesterday was 10% off nuts.

A real letdown. Last year was a bag of chocolate footballs which I guess they overordered for the world cup.

Grandmadinosaur Mon 11-Dec-23 19:51:52

On the first day I got a free hand cream but no local store ( we only have M&S food stores here) to get it from. Others have been money off vouchers one of which I used for the Christmas biscuits I buy anyway. Yesterday it was free florentines which was lucky as I was near a store at the time. On the whole I think this year’s efforts are rather disappointing.
