Matching pyjamas by whole family.

Opinions may vary 😀

I agree GG I don't understand making an analogy between a personal dislike and jumping to the conclusion you may not want to be helped/treated by a person who has tattoos. No I don't like them ,one of my sons has about 4 on his arms. Honestly it's no skin off my nose if a professional who could be treating me has them, why would itconfused, I couldn't are less. I came to terms with my son's ages ago, just glad his brother decided to be different, different in not having any because everyman and his dog of a certain age seem to think it's somehow mandatory. I think the body is best unadorned by inkings, that's my opinion, I don't expect others to share it.

There seems to be a suggestion or two on this thread or maybe the other one about the superfluous baby headbands, just because posters admit to not liking those for example, they could be teetering on the edge of imparting that to whoever is responsible for placing it on the child's head. Shows a lack of joined up thinking imo.

After reading Sago's comment, I thought about changing my car. I would hate to be thought of as naff.

However, I've changed my mind, I love my yellow car! wink

I hate to say this at this time of year but just about every modern manifestation of Christmas. Number ones and other naff pop songs, Chain store adverts on TV, Elves generally, office parties, tins of Quality Street, Christmas Specials on TV and having to see relatives you don't want to see and who don't want to see you and exchanging crummy gifts. BAH!! HUMBUG!!

Good for you Marydoll. My favourite car was yellow.

Good for you Marydoll. My favourite car was yellow.

My husband was test driving his new car, but I decided to sit in the showroom. Feeling low, I had just been deemed unfit to work, through ill health and forced to retire.
I spotted this shiny, yellow car in the showroom. It was calling to me! By the time my husband came back, I had purchased it and signed the paper work.
There was a six week waiting list for delivery of both cars. Much to my husband's annoyance, my spanking new car was delivered weeks before his and I had no intention of changing mine in the first place. 😉

Marydoll My granddaughter has introduced me to a very annoying game which I can't shake off. Whenever I see a yellow car I am now compelled to say Cheese on wheels!.
I love yellow cars as they are so visible on the road.
Re the OP, I am in the fur babies and rainbow bridge camp.

My mother had a yellow car - very unusual then - in the mid 70s. Many years later, when she had dementia and I was taking her anywhere in the car, she’d say, ‘ I had a yellow car!’ every time we saw one.

This morning I was coming out of a blind junction, what did I see coming over the hill, a yellow car. They have their uses! 😂

Greenfinch Fri 22-Dec-23 12:26:58

As you say they were unusual in the 70’s Witzend. My children could always spot me in the school car park which was a bonus.

Rosie51 Fri 22-Dec-23 13:20:24

We had a beautiful yellow Cavalier in the 70s. Loved that car both to look at and to drive. Present car is boring silver or is that naff too grin

Is this a discussion about naff objects or yellow cars?

Quite right, too! 👏 I loved my yellow car, I’ve never felt quite the same about any others. It is the safest colour car to drive, as it’s so visible.

I always joked to my Dh that I could never have had a secret affair while I had that car, as everyone knew it was mine. 😂

Threads digress, BF. That's the beauty of Gransnet.
I have every right to defend my maligned, wee, yellow car.

When I was unwell and supposed to be recuperating., my DH asked where I had gone at 10am. He spotted me leaving from the golf course. blush

Oh god yes.... "Rainbow Bridge" 🤢

What is it?

NotSpaghetti Fri 22-Dec-23 15:11:34

OK. I notice you answered that Chestnut
It's when someone dies!
I thought it was likely to be transitioning male to female or vice versa... grin I thought it was might be the point of surgery.

I'm glad I know now. ... could be awkward!

NotAGran55 Fri 22-Dec-23 15:38:54

I too had a fabulous yellow that I adored and was known for! It was a Renault 12 with deck-chair- striped multicoloured seats and was known as The Flying Banana.
It was far from naff and transported me a lot of fun and games 😳 in those days. Happy memories….

No need to get snotty. I wasn't criticising merely asking a question. Sorry!!!!

Parsley3 Fri 22-Dec-23 18:19:47

I have just remembered that in the 70s we had a yellow Ford Cortina with a black roof. Very swanky in its day.

Error, who is being snotty?
I can only see a polite explanation of thread wandering.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 22-Dec-23 18:48:32

My father-in-law gifted me his yellow car when he gave up driving (totally forgotten the make) but I could always find it in any car park.

Joseann, thank you! 🥰

kittylester Fri 22-Dec-23 21:59:15

I had a yellow Citroën Club in about 1980.

SueDonim Fri 22-Dec-23 22:19:23

Greenfinch Fri 22-Dec-23 22:49:26
