Matching pyjamas by whole family.

Opinions may vary 😀

Agree especially with nails that look more like weapons than nails. Then the enhanced and ridiculous buttocks followed by the heavily tattooed bodies. Why pay a lot of money to mess your body up,big time?

Mugs with slogans: "World's best mum", "Granddad's Cuppa", etc.

Two of my favourite bone China mugs have Grandmother on one and Awesome Auntie on the other they are extremely special to me.

I have a mug, which is a picture of two pairs of wellingtons, one large and one small, and the inscription, X and Gran together since 2017. It is a reference to days spent paddling in the sea with my beloved granddaughter (in all sorts of weather), it means a lot to me.

I had a yellow Saab. Also known as The Flying Banana. I loved that car.
Very safe too. smile

saab's are so stylish I think you'd be hard pushed to call it naff

Some of the things I sell in my shops are (according to my taste) really naff but people buy them.

Rhinestone tiaras with matching necklaces and long dangly earrings, beaded evening bags ---

And many of my customers are men.

There is no law on the statute book against snobbery.

Mine was a Datsun Cherry. Not only yellow but very reliable too.

SueDonim Fri 22-Dec-23 22:19:23

Hahaha, busted, Marydoll! I love that. grin

I had a yellow Citroën Club in about 1980.

No need to get snotty. I wasn't criticising merely asking a question. Sorry!!!!

For goodness sake, no-one is getting snotty! Obviously you do not know me! wink

My father-in-law gifted me his yellow car when he gave up driving (totally forgotten the make) but I could always find it in any car park.

Error, who is being snotty?
I can only see a polite explanation of thread wandering.

I have just remembered that in the 70s we had a yellow Ford Cortina with a black roof. Very swanky in its day.

I too had a fabulous yellow that I adored and was known for! It was a Renault 12 with deck-chair- striped multicoloured seats and was known as The Flying Banana.
It was far from naff and transported me a lot of fun and games 😳 in those days. Happy memories….

OK. I notice you answered that Chestnut
It's when someone dies!
I thought it was likely to be transitioning male to female or vice versa... grin I thought it was might be the point of surgery.

I'm glad I know now. ... could be awkward!

Is this a discussion about naff objects or yellow cars?

Threads digress, BF. That's the beauty of Gransnet.
I have every right to defend my maligned, wee, yellow car.

When I was unwell and supposed to be recuperating., my DH asked where I had gone at 10am. He spotted me leaving from the golf course. blush

After reading Sago's comment, I thought about changing my car. I would hate to be thought of as naff.

However, I've changed my mind, I love my yellow car! wink

Quite right, too! 👏 I loved my yellow car, I’ve never felt quite the same about any others. It is the safest colour car to drive, as it’s so visible.

I always joked to my Dh that I could never have had a secret affair while I had that car, as everyone knew it was mine. 😂

We had a beautiful yellow Cavalier in the 70s. Loved that car both to look at and to drive. Present car is boring silver or is that naff too grin

Greenfinch Fri 22-Dec-23 12:26:58

As you say they were unusual in the 70’s Witzend. My children could always spot me in the school car park which was a bonus.
