Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, it's 6°C here. I have been wide awake since 3am. I thought it was 6am and wondered why DH was still asleep.

Thank you for your good wishes yesterday. There are some very kind folk on GN.
I spent the day in bed and wasted spent time on GN. ( A rare occurrence.)
The antibiotics are making me very nauseous, but I need to persevere. I have very few options left, due to allergies and contraindications. I am resisting taking the rescue steroids, unless absolutely necessary. They are the work of the Devil!.

I hope your appointment is helpful Mick and safe journey to all who are travelling today. Baubles, enjoy your time with your grandchildren. Ours don't break up until Friday.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s damp but very mild. Himself has just gone down in the lift as L’il Miss is being dropped off. Childcare duties again today. Infant school finished last Friday for Christmas, yet the Boy Wonder and mum have to wait until Thursday for their schools to break up. Why don’t the schools coordinate holiday breaks in the same Borough? Some families must find separate arrangements problematic.

I have an appointment at the nail salon at 10am and L’il Miss can have her tiny shell like ones painted for Christmas. Mummy said ‘yes’! And she’s very excited to go to The Salon and choose which colour from the chart.

Later, we’re over to hers through the park, quick gourmet lunch then I got mummy to arrange for a class friend to come and play this afternoon. Clever grandma! Two little girls will play great together and I can sit with mugs of tea and my iPad.

Morning Mick, morning All from a very soggy corner of Somerset. It’s pouring, has been all night I suspect.

Mr C needed a long sleep yesterday afternoon following his cardiac rehab session. The physio had suggested he slowed down with the exercises, of course he didn’t. I enjoyed a wander round some very quiet shops and a peaceful afternoon

Not sure about today. See how and where the day takes us.

My friend and I are going over to Mums today, then take her to a local cafe for lunch. I need to ring her later to remind her!

MrJ booked our joint Christmas present yesterday. We are off to Gran Canaria in January. I have bought him a few small things to open on the day, but this is our present to each other.

DH has just left for a day fishing with DGS1 who's nearly 13 and more fanatical than grandad. His brother has another day of school.
I have a day at the charity shop and will wear a Christmas jumper. I have broken the habit of a lifetime and have prepared beef stew in advance so it only needs simmering with dumplings this evening.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s dark, dry and mild in South Yorkshire this morning. Yesterday I went early to do some last minute shopping and just as well I did. When I had finished, cars were queueing up to get into the car park and people were streaming through the doors. All but one present wrapped and ready to go now. I had a very long telephone conversation with my oldest friend last night. She’s very ill and I hadn’t heard from her for a while. We were on the phone a couple of hours and it was lovely to catch up, and to hear her treatment is going well.
Today I must put fuel in my car, which is running on fumes, and I have a volunteer session this afternoon - the last until after the school holidays. If it stays dry I’ll walk there and back.
GM I had a similar experience to yours yesterday. Ambush is the right word.💐

Not to matter about the weather I’m off for a Christmas lunch with my friends today after my hairdresser comes.

Good morning from s somerset, dark clouds and rain to lunchtime, then just overcast. I hope it is not like yesterday, it was so dark by 2 that you almost needed a torch

Lots achieved yesterday, all current sewing projects are finished and all I have to do is tidy my sewing room. On my mental list for today: I have put a tall stack of paperwork and patterns onto my dining table, I will sort those and record the patterns in a file, so I don`t duplicate any. They all need to go away into my sewing room

The two veg drawers in my fridge need to be gone through and veg soup made today, I want to be ready for thursday when a big veg box is coming. I will get some green bags out as some of it will need to last longer

I have been without amazon prime for a year and have taken up the 30 day free offer which will see me through the christmas holidays. I will probably cancel after that, I have not found it a hardship to not be using amazon

Ladyleftover, you were the influence and yesterday I made vanilla clotted cream ice cream. I have a very good, not young, ice cream maker which churns. Tbh it is better for me to have the ice cream handy, rather than the cream in a tub anyway. I packed lots of individual yummy portions

Yesterday dgs2 and I posted his mum's Christmas cards then picked up my prescription which will see me well into the new year. Later dgs1 and dgs2 were playing when dgs2 hit his brother accidentally on the nose with his head. Cue much tears and blood. It stopped eventually. Dgs1 was quite emotional yesterday because he's tired and a bop on the nose didn't help.
Today I'll walk with dgs2 to the post office and post the one card I had forgotten about. It'll have to be first class. The rest of the day will be playing with cars and watching trains on YouTube. There will be drawing too. Dgs2 is very fond of making marks. And creating mayhem! Have a good day all

Good morning from Cornwall where it's raining and hawl, which is Cornish for mild. 😁

Ended up ordering a Sofa in a Box yesterday as my little flat can't take a normal squishy, comfy sofa, much as I would love one; the entrance is just too narrow. I've been sitting on a bamboo patio two-seater for years and it's well past its best. The new one will actually come in five boxes and I've deferred delivery until the New Year.

Met up with my youngest son in Asda by chance and we had fun shopping for his first artificial Christmas tree. He usually buys a real one but won't be at home much over Christmas so is going for the simpler option this year. At lunchtime I paid £1 for delicious spicy tomato soup, roll and butter plus a mug of tea in Asda's café; it's their current over-60's offer.

Today my long-term (over 30 years) prayer group are getting together for coffee at someone's house. After that I'll trundle to the library and collect an ordered Ann Cleeves book. I rarely read fiction so this is a new author for me.

Good morning from Bristol. It’s supposed to be raining, but I haven’t looked out yet.
Had a curious day yesterday. DD, the girls and I went shopping, including getting my new mixer. “Click and collect”, they say… well, the jolly thing hadn’t arrived because they”don’t work weekends”!!! I was rather annoyed, but DD said she’d collect it for me. Very kind of her as I have no car, and the shop is the other side of Bristol to me.
Went next door to B&M to get sweets for the girls’ gingerbread house, where I was emotionally ambushed by DH’s favourite Brazil nuts in chocolate. Ridiculous the things that affect you, isn’t it?
We then went into several other shops before going to a garden centre to choose my Christmas plum tree present. We were going to have lunch there but were told that there was an hour’s wait. I suggested they could lunch here when dropping me off.
That what we did. Half way through, the carpenter came to finish off the job he’d started…
Quiet afternoon.
Today, I’m going to Tesco with my neighbour and the hairdresser is coming in the afternoon for a much needed trip.

We caught up with my cousin last night over a delicious meal but were quite late home which I’m not used to anymore. I may try to nod off again for a little while.

Eldest GD breaks up from school today and is coming to stay for a couple of nights. I’m delighted to be having her all to myself, it seldom happens these days.
