Good morning all. Dull & drizzly here in Sefton. Proper rain forecast for later..
No plans just a quiet & relaxing day after a very busy week & weekend. Yesterday we met our Llandudno friends halfway for lunch in our usual country pub. It was very busy.
I'd better join my zoom exercise class this morning or I might seize up - I've not been able to join in for a few days.

Glad to hear you got some positive news yesterday Mick and of happy family times.

We (the royal we) are shampooing the downstairs carpets. We have only got the carpet cleaner back from our children, after months. Apparently DS1 handed it broken to DD, ( never let on 🤬) she secretly repaired it 😍 and has now returned it.
I shall observe and supervise, while DH labours. 😉
I am still fit for nothing!

I arrived here yesterday lunchtime after an easy journey. It’s the last day of school for the boys today so will drop them off and then finish the wrapping and putting presents under the tree. DD1 and sil will both be busy working so I’ll have a quiet day until this evening, when DD1 is going out to a works do and Sil won’t be home until late.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
I will finish decorating the tree this morning. We managed to get a tall, slim one.
While OH was out last night I watched the final two episodes of the Crown. The final episode was a bit odd!
This afternoon is my aunt’s funeral at a crematorium near Reading. The event is described as a celebration of her life. She was 91 when she died.
I am still waiting for a couple of parcels and have been chasing them up.
After Monday night’s heartburn shenanigans, I have had a much better night. The large bottle of Gaviscon recommended by the pharmacist did the trick.

Good morning from a grey but dry Colchester. It rained all day yesterday so the charity shop was quiet.
Usual Wednesday morning coffee meetup as we meet every week whatever the season. I'll take the opportunity to get a few bits in the shops early before it gets too busy.
We need to take the car to Lidl to stock up this afternoon as DS will be home later for 2 weeks and is always hungry and thirsty.

Apart from a little food shopping and a quick coffee with a friend we are awaiting the arrival of our Bristol gang. I just hope the traffic isn’t too horrendous as they are not leaving til after work this evening.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry but cold out. I need a new iPad as I managed to cover mine in hot chocolate which must have gummed up the works as the screen went blank and won’t boot up. The Trafford Centre seemed to be today’s option 😱 but Himself saw that click & collect from Argos in our larder is an option so we are going for that. He can transfer stuff from the cloud onto a new one (my hero) so PHEW! Can you even imagine the Apple Store at this time of year?

Morning from showery South Lanarkshire. Usual December winds building up, that’s why I don’t take wreathes to DH and my beloved boy until Christmas Eve.

Lunch today with our exercise group, class is now disbanding after 20 years so I hope our plans to meet regularly for a catch up do materialise next year. We are growing old together!

Night vision glasses have arrived Taichinan so I’ll probably experiment on the way home. Also, I have to pass on thanks to you for the information about WAY. My youngest daughter’s close friend lost her husband six months ago, leaving her with two boys, 8 and 11. Needless to say she is really struggling and got in touch with the group. She found them extremely helpful and felt understood which she desperately needed. Thank you.

Delighted your appointment left you so reassured Mick, a perfect start to Christmas.

Good morning from Glasgow. It’s still dark outside and windy.

I had a busier day that I had planned yesterday then DD1 and both GDs arrived around 5.00 pm, perfect timing as DH was awake to enjoy their company as much as I did. They stayed for dinner which filled the kitchen and DH’s room with blethering and laughter. Lots of cuddles when they were leaving and love you Granny/Mum, see you on Christmas Day. Gosh, they are such a tonic.

A visit to the bank this morning then an appointment with the surgery pharmacist who is monitoring my wonky BP but I think we have cracked it now with the latest meds she prescribed, it is thankfully much lower.

What a relief for you Mick excellent news.
Your journey sounds horrendous Ash. Time to relax now and enjoy being together.

Morning Mick, morning All from a very dark, dry corner of Somerset.

All the street lights are out. Why? No idea. Decent enough day yesterday, used a park and ride to wander a relatively quiet city centre, enjoyed seeing all the decorations and lights.

Practical day ahead. Grocery delivery, much jubilation here as no missing items, cleaning and a telephone physio session. No, I don’t think they work either.

That was good news mick, pleased you arrived safely ash, good luck at the garden centre greyd, the ones around here seem to be busier than the shops. Sorry about your daughter kitty, bad timing, hope she’s not too unwell and the rest of the family escape. 🤞 for your gingerbread house grandmattie.

Lovely outing yesterday with my friend and Mum. We took her to a lovely cafe in Tettenhall called Gluttons for Nourishment. Then back home where my friend stayed an hour for more chat and a cuppa. I have know this friend since we were 18, and now live within 10 minutes walk from each other.

Plans today are, gym this morning, then make mince pies with homemade mincemeat, from a jar Mum made 2 years ago. It just needs a drop of brandy in it.

Covid is still on the rounds kitty , I had it in late September.

Glad you have finally arrived Ashcombe. Sounds like a nightmare journey.

I see from next year it will take even longer to get through security in a EU country as they are introducing a new border systems. It will see details registered on a digital system, including a person's name, travel document, fingerprints and captured facial images. It will also record the date and place of entry and exit.

Haircut this morning and from today I will be hunkering down and the weather can do what it will. Icy ground scares me so no appointments from today for a couple of months, just in case

I am expecting a parcel, changed it to tomorrow, which was confirmed and now see it has been delayed to january. I have e mailed the sender for clarification, this will not do

This and that today, no ideas but I always have the fallback of knitting and spinning

I had a disaster with my gingerbread house yesterday, had to make another…. Hope this time,I don’t do something stupid and it doesn’t collapse/break! But I do have one ready now for the DGDs to decorate tomorrow.
I went to Tesco with my neighbour and “bought stuff for two months” as recommended by one of the GMmers. 🤣
My hair was trimmed in the afternoon. It’s looking much tidier now.
Today, I have the residents’ coffee morning, a church women’s thingy in the afternoon, and the kind parishioner who took in my jars and piccalilli is bringing the empties back. I don’t actually have space but shall have very soon.
