Good morning all.
A lovely day yesterday with family and FaceTime with the younger ones. Our eldest daughter has quite a library of games which we played in the evening causing much hilarity.
DGS 1 stayed overnight and they will all be back today for a country walk followed by cold cuts and salads.
More games to follow that.
Glad to hear most of you had a happy day and wish you the same today. Thoughts with those not so fortunate.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 0° and very icy out. Like many others, I had a nice day yesterday. Good food, good company. The weather was awful all day with some intense rainfall. I visited mum in the afternoon and the hospital had given everyone a lovely Christmas gift. Sadly mum didn't recognise dgs1 who dd brought. We think she's had another tia and seems more confused. Later the family and I had a lovely meal,cooked by dd and cleared up by Sil. As they are going out tonight, I have masses of leftovers which will do me for ages.
I am having a very lazy Boxing Day. I might get dressed later but that will be the extent of my labour. Have a good day all

Yesterday was enjoyable underlined by sadness.DD and SIL made a delicious meal and the children loved all their presents.H kept asking if it was the real Christmas.

The sadness is that we had a phone call to tell us MIL had very little time left.They are not even doing her obs anymore.We feel so sad and were told there wouldn’t be time for us to get down there however she is still hanging on.Add in the guilt at not going down but we are both still recovering from the cough and I have a procedure on my shoulder on Thursday although we may try the drive down tomorrow when things are open again and there will be places to stop if we can’t manage it.

Today both DD’s and families are coming over so game faces on.

Good morning from a dry and bright Oxfordshire, we also had a good day yesterday.
I over catered somewhat and seemed to have doubled the amount of roast potatoes that we needed, even for 2 days! I thought at the time that 40 couldn’t be right…….
Lovely thoughtful gifts, we put a definite £5 limit on gifts from them, as they are all broke, but so inventive! We had some lovely hand made gifts anda couple of good Charity Shop finds.
MzOops arrived from Cornwall late, so much traffic which surprised us all, but she managed with no stops! Definitely didn’t inherit my bladder.
I hope everyone has a good, peaceful day today, with thoughts to those who are unwell or stressed.

Good morning all and it’s mild and dry here in Essex.

Yesterday was lovely at DS1’s house. Delicious food and drinks followed by Karaoke, presents and games.

Today we have ds2 and family, Dd and family, 12 altogether for a festive buffet.

I must get on , so will wish you a Happy Boxing Day.

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 0°C. brook, you seem to have sent us some of your cold weather, however you can keep your snow. 😉

We had the loveliest of family day's yesterday. I made brunch a simpler affair and after years of going over the top, dinner was less hassle. I received some very thoughtful presents and DH had bought me some lovely jewellery. 😍
To crown it all DD and I never fell out once, a Christmas miracle,🤣

I was neither exhausted, nor crabbit. That's a first! I was in a lot of pain, but the self medicating with champagne helped! 🥂
DH brought her camera and we managed to get a family picture. We were hysterical, when Babydoll kept grabbing Dollie's hair, just as the camera flashed. There are some really funny photos of a very indignant Dollie.

Doodle, how lovely to see you posting on here and good to hear that you and Pants are in touch. Those were very happy days on GN, where you spent much of the time on the naughty step!

Have a lovely day folks, many of you seem to have had a great time. I am still in bed, with a heat pack on my back! The last few busy days are catching up with me, the blasted cough is back with a vengeance.
Today will be a gentle one.

Good Morning Michael and all GNs from what promises to be a dry South Yorkshire. I had a lovely Christmas Day, waited on hand and foot, far too many presents (some really lovely books among them which I will enjoy throughout the year), far too much food, and far too little exercise. Lunch was really delicious and I passed on tea because I didn’t have room for another mouthful. There’s a much needed walk in prospect this morning, and then I’ll be off home later.

We had a lovely, busy day yesterday. The food was nearly all ready at the same time and present opening didn't take too long considering there were 16 of us and the pile was enormous.

Only 6 of us and the leftovers today. I really enjoy boxing day food.

Good morning from a dark W Kent. Happy day yesterday spent with DD2 and family. Delicious turkey and lots of games, I wish I had paid more attention to modern films and music. Presents seem to have gone down well. Today I am serving up a lasagne and trimmings for DD2 and family as she is entertaining other family members for the rest of the week.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s very cold and wintry with a couple of inches of snow ⛄️
We had a really enjoyable day yesterday with DD2 and family, they’d made a real effort for us and nothing was too much trouble. Most of the day was spent sitting around the dining table either eating and drinking or playing games. DGS especially really loves his board games and is gradually getting less of a sore loser so luckily we didn’t have any sulking!
We were very late home last night so today is going to be a quiet day with DH

Good morning everyone from a still dark and dry Northampton, a nice sunny morning forecast, which will please the family, as they have decided on a good dog walk.

A lovely day was had yesterday, with a mountain of presents to open. I was quite spoiled by everyone, and felt my gift of theatre vouchers looked quite meagre next to everything else. They were well received though, and the DGDs were pleased with their presents, especially the money!

DS and DD cooked a delicious Christmas dinner, with a moist and tasty turkey, and a mountain of vegetables. I was not allowed to lift a finger, even with the washing up, so was able to sit and relax. Board games followed later and then an evening of TV.

A latish breakfast today then a walk (which I may well opt out of), then time for a Boxing day left-overs meal. DS and family depart early evening, as he has an early start tomorrow for work. I don't know DD's p!ans.

No sign of movement yet from anybody except the dogs, so I shall enjoy the peace and quiet while I can.

After a lovely, relaxed day yesterday with DD’s gang we’re off to visit DS and family today.

I really enjoyed our quiet Christmas Day, today will be the same I hope before the family arrives tomorrow. Very much looking forward to seeing them all again.

Good morning from Cornwall where it's very windy, very wet, very quiet.

Lovely day yesterday, gorgeous food. Lots of funny moments, especially a debate with my slightly narked 43-year-old son 😂 during the sock game results as to whether a toggle could be called a button. I said absolutely not, which meant my eight-year-old granddaughter won the game versus 11 adults and older children, clever girl.

My son gave me a new translation of the New Testament. He and I have been to Israel together and want to return one day; a faint hope right now. Off to my other son's this afternoon where he and I will loaf around watching TV and putting the world to rights. I'll stay the night; he always offers me his bed but he has the comfiest sofa ever which I love sleeping on.

Morning Mick, morning All. It’s dry out there, a change from the drizzle and rain of yesterday. The afternoon was very wet.

Thoroughly enjoyed our day with our elder son. Lunch in his prettily decorated village pub was a warm, friendly and delicious occasion. We walked there and back, arriving dry we were decidedly damp by the time we reached his home, no matter. A bit of drama in the evening when a shelf full of large Lego models left the wall, knocking down the contents of the shelf below it. The Lego pieces that weren’t decorating me spread far and wide. No harm done to mr and we are assured it won’t be too difficult to re-build from what looks like tens of thousands of pieces. Hope he’s right. He certainly got yesterdays prize for calmness and cheerfulness under pressure.

Today we’re on the road again for a morning visit to younger son and his family. The Typhoon was oh so excited yesterday, we were treated to a FaceTime viewing of his Santa gifts, or more accurately we saw a lot of their living room rug while hearing an audio description. Then it’s back home and a visit from our granddaughters and elder son before they travel back to his home - and build Lego.

We’re grateful we can do it and see everyone but goodness it’s tiring. I predict a day of nothing on Wednesday.

I’ll try to get back later to find out how everyone is. In the meantime special thoughts to everyone struggling at the moment and a wish for the day to be as good as it can be for us all.

I thought it was quite busy on the roads yesterday. I am going home today after spending a lovely Christmas Day with my daughter, her fella and my new granddog.

Thank you, Mick, for your constancy. Ash, it’s good to see the cat doing well.
We had a quiet start to the day, going to church for 1030. The service was better attended than DD expected. DGD and two visitors sang descant to the carols, which was lovely.
After lunch, SiL’s family came. The weather put paid to plans of a walk, but the five children aged between 13 and 3 were happy to play. I had a nap. Then the presents got opened - as there were 13 of them, it took some time, opening one present at a time!
Dinner was delicious, with more vegetarians than carnivores. I did a lot of washing up, while the parents took a well earned rest.
I’m going home today, as the family is taking off for Dorchester to in-laws.
I hope you have have had a happy day, enjoyed the food and company, and look forward to a good week.

Good morning from s somerset. Seems as though it will be a fine day today

I woke too early and yes it is a full moon, I slept fitfully and am now aching after a complete change in routine yesterday. I am going out on my bike but not up any steep hills, just to get my legs moving and some fresh air is enough. I had different food yesterday, with chopped chilli, peppers and tomato. I think that is what has triggered the achiness.

At home days, for a few days and out again later this week. I do have some nice things to eat but am glad I have not got a big stash to tempt me

I will do another hour of putting a bag together, my first time making a bag. It is not like normal sewing and I am having to be mindful of every step. The jogger set I made for dd was beautiful on her and dgd was over the moon with her warm top. They were so happy with them
