If you don’t celebrate Christmas why take time off at all?

Each to his own of course but it seems like it’s a few days of your life you won’t get back.

Curious.....
why did you not open the curtains at all?
Was it to keep it warm, cosy & atmospheric for your movie marathon Or did you want to shut the world & Christmas out of your lives?

It was your time and your decisions and as long as you enjoyed the the time off, then that's all good 👍.

If you enjoyed it that's all that matters. If l hadn't been celebrating Christmas I think I would have gone somewhere and off out for long walks followed by lots of reading with a glass of wine and some chocs.

Don't despair !

I lost weight as I ate less from early August until late September and now have piled it back on again .
My overindulgence started on my birthday and has hopefully ended over the holiday season .
I know that I can lose weight with time spent planning a menu for the day , spme gentle exercises , smaller portions and eating slowly .

Happy New Year .

I would call that The Alternative Christmas. Good to know you enjoyed the break from work.
It would not suit me though. 'fraid I don't like Battenburg or evaporated milk. And the thought of spending time with the curtains drawn is depressing. But each to their own I suppose. I currently have Covid and to be honest I think it preferable to your choice over Christmas. grin
Anyway, I wish you all the best for the new year. Keep on with the 'diet'.

Stuffed your gob? Blimey.

I suspect you will soon find the lost weight - takes a while to show up on the scales.

We were going to have the 4 days off work over Christmas being we don't celebrate it, 24,25,26 and 27th + 1st January but hubby suggested we take off the entire week so we came back to work this morning! I bought myself some booze and we ensconced, all doors and windows closed, curtains drawn and watched a whopping 16 movies over time.

For News Year I sat up until midnight with a can of Strongbow and stuffed my gob with Battenburg Cake and Evaporated Milk! BUT while I pigged out and was a fat slob for the week, I still lost 1 1/2 stone since April 2023!
